First, here's a little glimpse at what the lines outside looked like. The event started at 9:30am and people started arriving before 7am. Here's a view of the line ahead of me (I got there around 7:40am):
And here was the line that formed behind me as we waited to enter:
And here was the "overflow line" that wrapped all the way around two buildings on the McEachern High campus:
Luckily, I ended up in a pretty good spot and snapped this of Barack about to take the stage:
Here's a video of his introduction (sorry, I can't embed video on this blog, so you'll have to follow the link to YouTube)...somehow I doubt John McCain gets this kind of reception when he's introduced:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xro2lQP7ES4
Barack looking particularly Presidential, IMHO:
This video is of Barack responding to erroneous claims from the McCain campaign that he'd raise taxes on the middle class:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwDtjICMibk
Here's something a little different -- a politician listening intently:
A couple good shots of him talking with the audience:
And, finally, Barack on his way out. I think this one is especially fitting because even though I caught him a little out of frame, you can see he's already intent on what's next, moving with purpose, fired up and ready to go!
