I listen to Sean Hannity whenever I get the chance and I agree with him that having Billary Clinton (I made that up myself) in the Oval Office again would be disastrous. However, Hannity has it all wrong regarding the scary possibility of the influence of Mormonism in the Whitehouse. Mormons may be “the nicest people in the world” but they are required to be so that they may reign one day with God in heaven, as His equal. Hearing him defend Mitt Romney and Mormonism recently on his radio program motivated me to investigate the beliefs of the LDSs and the beliefs of other democratic and republican candidate hopefuls. What I found out about Mormonism set my Christian spirit reeling. Mr. Hannity’s ballyhoo on Mormons being giving, caring, and great humanitarians is fine, I don’t doubt that, but it discounts Biblical scripture which talks about “good works” and all they will earn you in the long run - bupkis. I do not want a President who falsely believes he can EARN joint custody of the human race.
When I read all I could stomach on Mormonism I went to Barack Obama’s website and there I stayed for the rest of the afternoon – I’m impressed and I was engaged in his speech on faith and politics, go to http://www.barackobama.com/issues/faith/ to hear for yourself. I need to vote for a person who believes in God and who can synergize faith and politics. Obama takes us back to our American “in God we trust” Christian underpinning and away from the idiosyncrasies of organized religions. However, this is not the only reason I like Barack Obama – stay tuned for the next blog entry…
