This is a warning to Sen. Obama and his campaign. No one said you should not "move to the center" after winning the primaries but the worst thing you will do is to alienate your millions of supporters who saw a different type of "politician" in you and then gave you their support.
This is the problem the Democratic party has always faced-- BEING EVERYTHING TO EVERYONE. GWB won the election because he energized his base. There is a lot of grumbling going on already among your supporters(check Huffpo). You can be in the so-called "middle" without being seen to be there. You do not have to apologize to the GOP and MSM for your progressive positions which got you this far. Once you are branded a "flip-flopper", you are finished.
Why dis Gen. Wes Clark when his statements are purely his. He was brave enough to say the truth. Do you have to "reject", "disown" every statement made by any of your surrogates? McCain breezes past horrible statements made by his own people and no one raises an eyebrow. Those who will not vote for you will not vote for you even if you put on angelic garbs today. So, Sen. Obama, stay with your base (I do not mean extreme left since I am an independent)and push back on the MSM to contact any of your surrogates who made any statement for clarifications. You do not have to own or disown other people's statements.
By the way, I am 100% behind Gen Wes Clark's statement that "being shot down in a fighter plane does not qualify you for the presidency" Let the GOP deal with that.
