A call to all Obama supporters.

if you could design Barack Obama's Lapel pin, what would it look like ?

we are starting a grass-roots effort to form the first Obama design competition.
this effort will focus on the lapel pin that Barack will wear as President of the United States.

design competition format:
1. Obama supporters will submit their designs by October 15th, 2008.
2. Obama supporters will vote for the top 10 design proposals.
3. Barack Obama will choose the winning design and wear the lapel pin as president.

This is a copy of my reply to the original post on this subject. I think it is relevant here as well.

I came up with exactly the same idea but about a month later than the original post. This is the first time I thought to check if there were any other great minds thinking my way and found this post but only two comments at the original time of the post.

But Obama Central was not asleep at the switch and they have this design competition for a special pin for Barak and the rest of us who support taking the Constitution seriously. This is a well-run campaign!

But timing is an issue. Identifying defense of the Constitution as a core Obama identifier is too long range to wait till October 15th, the end of the design competition.

In the meantime, Barak can wear the commercially available pin and, when asked, say he is doing so until the design competition has had the time to be completed and for pins to be produced. Pre-advertising is what this is called, I believe.

I hope someone picks up on this. It addresses the sleaze and innuendo of the opposition with a patriotic gesture of substance.
