It used to be more positive. Now it seems as if we just want to attack each other for no reason. I agree that we have to be nicer to Hillary supporters who are coming to the site with questions about Barack. So what if her supporters are still in attack mode, we need to be bigger than that. We should limit the name calling (yes, I have been a part of it too), it is not going to do anyone any good. I have been hurt by several posts, and I know other Barack supporters have too. I used to feel that this site was a haven from the MSM and other biased reporting out there, but I don't feel that way anymore. Guess I will not be coming back as much.

Denise,
Can you be more specific? Don't forget people are passionate about their candidates, Hillary's site is worse and filled with HATE.

Maybe if more people let others know we are losing our base and diversity. But, don't let a few spoil the hole. We are better than that.

Denise - I agree with you 100%. Sometime it's just depressing to read the negative blogs. I think we need to let go of HRC and move on to John McCain. She's done and he's the one we need to focus on and we can do it in a positive way to encourage more people to visit and post on this site.

I've been on this post for a very long time and I agree with your observation. I think that now that Barack has taken the nomination you are seeing more of a percentage of the crazies and fewer of the hardcore campaign workers. This primary is winding down, and as a result, less and less it is being used as a tool for networking support and more of a pulpit for those who are jumping on the bandwagon. They are less committed to the cause but more outspoken in their diatribe.
When the race turns to defeat of McCain I'm more than sure that you will once again see it returning to what it is meant to be and more of a reflection of the cohesive approach that has been the cornerstone of our candidate's platform.
Hang in there! Wait for the change back to a constructive blog, keep the faith, and remember that we support the candidate, not nessesarily the words of all who post here.

we're in a state of uneasy transition right now. We want to be nice, but we're still in a place where we have to be defensive too. We're balancing protesting Hillary on the ticket, protesting Barack paying off her campaign, defending against her supporters who come and bash him, protesting Hillary's shenanigans, etc., and then suddenly having to turn around and remember to be nice to her. Its hard, and it will stay hard until our guy has secured the nomination.

I agree with you and as Barack says "he's not perfect" and neither are we. I've had days that I felt disappointed with some Blogs or supporters on the site but I had to remember why I was here. I'm here for Barack and I've learned a lot on this site and from Bloggers who do a lot of work collecting information for us. I also come here for "positive" motivation but when you're not getting it; why not be the giver? This site and the supporters are not perfect but I think this movement is the best thing that has happen in this country in years. I hope you stay a part of it and be the POSITIVE support and reinforcement that you've received.

There does seem to be more variety, Denise, but I think the negativity is a reaction to "campaign fatigue."
Things should change in the next few weeks.
If you haven't seen this video, do. It's really upbeat:

Well, no. I love the fact that Barack has not jumped into the silly season or turned his (and our) campaign negative. But, sometimes when an Obama supporter (or someone posing as one, since one never knows for sure) is dishing out the trash talk to Hillary's team, it's hard to see much difference. I used to spend a lot of time on the Caucus (most of you know that's the New York Times political blog) and I got tired of politely pointing out to US that we were not coming up to the standards our candidate sets. I've tried to stay away from correcting HRC's people but once it awhile it's gotten away from me and I wrote something just a little sarcastic. We're all human and the blogs allow you to say almost anything so there's no way we can stop some of our own from acting badly. One way I've tried to correct for that is to post something constructive on the blog and state that the offensive comments by our people don't represent the majority of the Obama Nation. As I said above, I try hard to stay out of it with the nasty folks talking trash for Clinton since it never accomplishes anything to be drawn into a smack-down. But, again, sometimes you just can't help it! Best wishes, Owen

Whipped into a similar frenzy and I was wrong. My recent tirade, "Hilly and Billy are turning me grey and ugly far beyond my years. I feel caught in a bizarre vortex between dimensions. Why is she allowed to continue and especially, why is mainstream news encouraging her?" should be tempered.
