Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, in my opinion, demonstrated great leadership during the recent debate and reminded viewers that he opposed this misguided effort in Iraq from the start, before opposition was popular.
I hear many people voicing the opinion that Al Gore should run for president, but I think Gore is hoping to head the Environmental Protection Agency or some similar post after a new president is elected in 2008.
More and more nations are sobering up to the unavoidable fact that the world must soon wean itself off gasoline, not just because oil is a nonrenewable energy source, but because of the environmental degradation resulting from fossil fuel burning.
I admire Dennis Kucinich for advocating a national health-care system by eliminating medical insurance, that unnecessary bureaucratic layer. Kucinich, I think, also gave the best answer during the debate about bin Laden; but Kucinich does not have enough support to actually become president.
Face the facts. Either a Democrat or a Republican will be our next president. Many Republicans are switching teams for obvious reasons. Obama got the highest ratings in the post-debate polls.
The majority of Americans are desperate for change. Do the math. Obama is our next president.
