I hate to start my first blog on a negative note, but I am deeply saddened by the position Barack has taken on the FISA "compromise." Apart from being such a gross assault on the constitution, it is an assault on the rule of law itself. If ever there was a time that he should have taken a principled stand, it was on this. This law is not simply bad policy that can be remidied later. It really puts our system of government in peril. I will write more about this later.

I don't know all the particulars of FISA but I'm sure Barack Obama will make a reasoned decision!

It is my understanding that this bill is 134 pages long; do you have a link from which I can download and read it? Thanks.

so many of the folks in the campaign are new to politics (and that is a VERY good thing) and many do not understand the assault on our constitution yesterday - too many think it was just some random law and an election year compromise made due to political realities
many of your fellow americans join you in your deep disappointment on Senator Obama's missed chance to exercise authentic leadership - and to think we had the audacity to hope.
