I am disappointed in the recentlly posted video displaying several people giving short descriptions of their medical and insurance problems. This is directed at the lowest common denominator and is, quite frnakly, insulting. With the money this organization is spending on useless commercials, some of these people might have been helped.
There is no doubt that some people have medical and insurance problems. Some perhaps because they lost their job. The majority of the uninsured are people who can afford insurance but choose not to buy it. Many are young who take the chance that they are healthy rather than spend for insurance. The issue is not whether there are uninsured people who are struggling with medical bills. The issue is what can be done about it and at what cost. Sad tales of a child with a disease are simply irrelevant to the debate. I want to hear real, honest proposals. I have heard none. The President and his press sec'y only speak in generalities and often have their facts and cost estimates wrong.
I have excellent health coverage because I sacrificed and worked for it because it was the smart and right thing to do. Where is my story being told? Perhaps others can learn more from success stories than from the failures.

healthcare is very, very impotant and i lost my family cobra coverage 12-16-08, after one year of paying 800.00 dollars a month after i lost my job on 1-16-08. i really want to thank you because right now my three girls have medicade and i am on unemployment now and worked for half pay 6 months of last year before filing in october. my wife and i don't have any coverage now because my unemployment check ( our only income ) won't let us qualify for any coverage and my blood pressure medicine is 40% of that income so i must do without it for now because i am doing everything to keep our house current. i am still praying that bank of america would modify my mortgage but so far i don't qualify because i am still current, but on unemployment for now. i hope my story is helpful but right now i'm more scared of losing our home. PS. THE LORD HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BLESSING IN MY LIFE TOO MY PRESIDENT , I BELIEVE WE WILL ALWAYS GET WHAT WE NEED. STAY BLESSED SO YOU CAN BE A BLESSING.

I wonder if the people speaking out against health care reform know anyone personally that is without coverage? If you had a mom or dad that relies on public assistance for their health care... did you know they stopped all dental coverage? How would you feel if your young niece or nephew needed care but wasn't able to afford it?
The fact of the matter is I have great coverage (as long as I have a job, anyway). In my mother's case, she is disabled and relies on public assistance. But before that when she was able to work, she paid into the system her share. They are cutting services to the people that need it most!
We need more people to speak up for those without any coverage. For those of us with coverage, NOTHING will change ! This isn't socialized medicine, it is reform. The spiraling costs of medical care is bringing our economy down, and destroying countless lives.
Speak out for Children and Seniors!
