The thing is a place like Jerusalem can be used to manipulate people for war, and that is the way it has been used for centuries.
It’s time we prevented this and did the opposite, used it to promote peace and used it as a worldwide symbol of peace. That is what the birth place of so many religions should be about and used for.
The other thing is who would attack this city and symbol if we are all ready to defend it and what it stands for? *****I also think that if this city is divided, the fighting that is occurring at the boarders will happen within this city and boarders too. It could lead to damage for the city and holy places or retaliations and modifications of holy places.
In other words, there is potential for conflict and manipulation for conflict. A solution needs to be found that eliminates the possibilities of conflict or the possibility to create conflict for the purpose of manipulation or justifications.
An international city, with the Israelis and Palestinians playing key roles in giving birth to this international city, could result in a reduced potential for conflict but increase the potential for peace and cooperation, communication, and understanding, peace. An international city protected by the international community, were the international community can gather, communicate, work together, learn more about each other, and worship their beliefs in religion and peace.
