For the past few weeks, local Latino leaders have been volunteering in Ohio to get the word out about Barack. On Saturday, Dennis Flores, a City Councilman from Lorain, was out all day knocking on doors in his community. As you can see from his car, Dennis is definitely an enthusiastic supporter.
When asked why he had given up his weekend and braved the cold weather to canvas for Senator Obama, Flores signaled to an event three weeks ago where he heard the Senator speak, "After seeing him in person, I was excited to get involved...I could really tell that this candidate is genuine and speaking from the heart when you see him up close."
Dennis is one of many Latino Obama supporters from the Lorain area. Joel Arrerondo, the President of Lorain City Council and David Flores, a former City Councilman, have also been volunteering with the campaign. They are pictured below with Dennis Flores and Joan Kato, our head of Latino Outreach for Ohio.
David Flores, a community activist in Lorain, said, "Even though I am no longer hold office, it is my responsibility to be active in the community." Remember, it's not too late for you to get involved!

Polling stations should be open from 6:30am to 7:30pm. Know that those voters in line at 7:30pm must be permitted to vote.

Dear Ms. Cruz,
I have read several blogs for the Latino's of "OUR UNITED" States of America however what I am finding is that most are replying to post's. I am trying to type my own blog explaining it would be better for most to place what they wrote as an original comment (not only replying to comments already written). It is great that Latino's are responding however when I read alot of their comments they are so beautifully and exceptionally written that they NEED to be published as original comments on Barack Obama's web-site.
I replied to a few stating this fact. I do not know what I am doing wrong because every time I try to write something in the Latino blog it is placed under the English speaking site of Barack's.
Please, while there is still time can you please advise Latino's to do that and then if you have time could you please let me know how I can write on the Spanish site. Sorry to bother you but I believe this is very important!
Thank you,
Patti

Dear Patricia
I believe if you click on the home page in the upper right box entitled En Espanol it will take you to a page where you may write in Spanish in response to articles and others comments. I have written a comment there in Spanish.
I agree with you that we have a great asset here in both the Latino thread here under People and also the En Espanol blog which is not being used as much as it could be. I will mention both more often on the English Blog in an attempt to get people over here.
I have also thought about going on Craigs list to find voters including Latinos state by state and bringing them here
We can stress that NAFTA which was
devastating to both Mexican people here
and in Mexico as well was sponsored
and signed by the Clinton Administration.
Hillary has done nothing to improve conditions for Latinos
Her record as Senator is available at http;//thomas.loc/gov.
Los regles con Hillary para Immagracion son mismo.
Sen Obama has stated that he was for giving
Latinos Drivers Licenses. Hillary is not.
She took more money from the War Industry
than any other candidate of either party

Mr. Flores was elected to office in Ohio's 10th largest city Lorain, Ohio last November. He has been an enthusiastic grassroots volunteer for the OBAMA campaign. Dennis spent the past weekend walking door to door for Barack as well as his own Central Committee Campaign.
Dennis' spirit and YES WE CAN attitude shine throughout the city of Lorain.
Congratulations on a job well done.
On a side note: March 4th is Mr. Flores Birthday!
Happy Birthday Dennis and thanks for volunteering at the grassroots level.

Que grande orportunidad. Hagamos la historia. Are you Fired up and Ready to go?
Tomorrow's the big day. Thank you for all your hard work and now let's go for a big SWEEP.
BTW, if any of your friends got caught up in the
NAFTA-Canadian malarchy that was being batted around, they can go to FACTCHECK.ORG from the non-partisan Annenberg Public Policy Center.

Bottom line is that the Canadian Embassy Mea culpa'd. Here's their statement:
"Statement by the Canadian Embassy: The Canadian Embassy and our Consulates General regularly contact those involved in all of the Presidential campaigns and, periodically, report on these contacts to interested officials. In the recent report produced by the Consulate General in Chicago, there was no intention to convey, in any way, that Senator Obama and his campaign team were taking a different position in public from views expressed in private, including about NAFTA. We deeply regret any inference that may have been drawn to that effect.
The people of the United States are in the process of choosing a new President and are fortunate to have strong and impressive candidates from both political parties. Canada will not interfere in this electoral process. We look forward, however, to working with the choice of the American people in further building an unparalleled relationship with a close friend and partner."
Fired up! Ready to go!
Go Ohio, Go Obama. Viva Obama.
The truth always prevails.

If indeed Billiary C. with the connivance of the democratic party steals this election from us(as the republicans did in 2000 to Al Gore), despite a lead in the popular vote and pledge delegates, I will resign as a democrat and I will abstain to vote in the general election for many years to come!
Moreover, I will strongly support Barack to run as an independent candidate.
PS: I am latino and I vote!! for Obama!
