The parade was lots of fun, and very affirming. I marched with my two daughters. We got a huge crowd response as we walked by. I handed out hundreds of stickers. Everybody wanted one. Our group handed out more than 5000 stickers in total.
After we reached the end of the parade, I got something to eat and then got a voter registration set-up. I then worked the crowd, registering voters. I got quite a few - plus hugs! We registered 577 voters that afternoon. We raised thousands of dollars to be used for grassroots efforts to ensure an Obama victory here at home. We even won the People's Choice Award for best parade entry!!!
Marching in the parade underscored something I already knew: I am really DONE with protesting. I'm never going to do something in the streets that is anti anything ever again. I'm only going to do things that are for things: for peace, for understanding, for cooperation, for getting along.

Well it sounds like you had a great time. 577 people is fantastic. We did a Unite for Change meeting on Saturday but wasn't able to make the Pride Parade. It sounds like we missed out. Great job and I am glad to hear you had such a great experience.
Oh, btw....your comments do go out to the ether, but some of us keep tabs on the ether.
