I'm not a religious person. I've had a few moments in my life when I thought I could be, but it just never really panned out for me.
Lately, however, I've been noticing my desire to pray; for Obama, for this country, for my own needs, for the world, for our soldiers, for a leader who gives a crap, for Americans to wake up and smell the coffee...
It seems like, after the last two elections, I feel like I live in a world of opposites; where everything that seems reasonable and valid is questioned and doubted, and everything that seems ludicrous and beyond the pale is accepted at face value.
I am DEATHLY afraid fo what will happen IF McCain and Palin somehow win this election. We're not talking about a slightly different agenda or a different way of doing things; we're talking about the end of American civilization as we know it....
I'm no conspiracy theorist, and I don't typically call things "disastrous", "cataclysmic", or "nightmarish" unless it's due. In the case of McCain and Palin, I cannot hide or suppress my fear.
I'm terrified.
Those two are a joke. Worse than a joke; they are the janitors in the hallway of a hospital who step in when the brain surgeon is late and says, "We can take over." (No offense to janitors; but it aint brain surgery). These two are so moronic that I don't know who is more stupid/crazy...McCain and Palin, or the people who would seriously consider voting for them simply because McCain got shot down in Vietnam 30 years ago or because Palin hunts elk and Moose?
A lot of people are saying it, but it's true: Why is it that so many people say they want a President they can relate to, but say they can't relate to Obama? Hmmm.....I wonder why. What could it possibly be? We all know what it is, and it is shameful and revolting.
Not only can I relate to Senator Obama and his wife, they are the first family I've EVER been able to relate to who are running for elected office. I would be proud of this nation if it could, just once, get beyond this ridiculous obsession it has with race and do tings based on their individual merit.
Another thing: Why is it that the Republicans are trying to paint Obama as "ideological" as if that is a bad thing? Wasn't Jesus ideological?
Point is: I'm afraid. I'm ashamed of my countrymen. I'm disgusted by the racism that still exists in American today. And I'm hoping (and praying) that people will see the light.
I don't know how to pray legitimately, but I'm hoping that God will just listen to me anyway....
Peace to all of us-
