In the debate tonight, Mc Cain said that he wouldn't repeat the same mistake that he regrets when the US washed its hands of the Afghanis after helping the freedom fighters rid the country of the Russians.
Ummmm, wasn't Mc Cain in the Congress and Senate during that time? The answer is yes... he had been in the house of representatives as a Congressman for 4 years before being elected to the Senate in 1986. The Russians were defeated and forced out of Afghanistan in 1988 and withdrew in 1989. Over the course of six years, Mc Cain hadn't realized that country would need immense help and support when the war was over? It's taken him another twenty years to realize that was a mistake? And now, he's choosing the war in Iraq to correct his error in judgment? Yikes.
And, Sen. Mc Cain has been in the Senate the entire time that de-regulation has been taking place. He didn't have enough sense to stop it before it ruined our economy as we've seen this week. The man has no vision. He's not a big picture guy.
Mc Cain is a warrior, not a strategic thinker as the above two issues (and his political career) have demonstated. I hope we can help our fellow countrymen connect the dots. We can't survive a Mc Cain administration.
