I found it interesting that your comment was that it took almost an hour to read yet Republican Congresspersons (who I presume are more familiar with the format and terminology of major legislation)insist that they did not have enough time to read the bill before voting. Hmmmmm.
I'm just saying. As far as the Republicans not understanding every day Americans' plights, one can still be empathetic with others without having had the same experience. I think this is more a question of character and values. Clearly some of these folks are more concerned about their fate in the 2010 elections than they are about what we are going through. My story is not as desperate as yours and there are others who are more desperate than you and so on. However, we are all in the same boat now and if we do not turn this thing around it will be a disaster for all of us including the Republicans who put their own selfish political agendas above the needs of the people. Let's hope the people remember their actions at election time.
