Don't you think Republicans have a responsibility to challenge

Certainly Republicans have a responsibility to question any proposals including the “Stimulus Package” which I prefer to call “Recovery Plan”. But what form should the “questioning” take?By the way, all of a sudden you have questions? Why didn't you question President Bush's rush to a war that took over 100,000 lives, including over 5000 Americans, based on a lie? Why didn't you question the tax cuts and deregulation and lack of oversight of Wall Street that led us into this mess? Why didn't you challenge the original "bail out" of banks with no oversight and no way of tracking where the money went? The previous administration had eight years to drag our country into this mess (they were left with a surplus after the Clinton administration) and now their party wants to direct this administration's solution? I don't think so. If Republicans have individual suggestions that might help, that’s great. But to act as a group to obstruct and to hold our country hostage is wrong. Americans voted overwhelmingly on November 4Th to give Barack Obama the opportunity to lead us at this point in our history. Economy was their number one issue then and it still is. The American people entrusted President Barack Obama to solve our economic crisis. No one has said that President Obama is a savior or a messiah. He is a leader! Now the Republicans if they love this country the way they say they do, need to get out of the way and allow him to lead! Our situation is big and complex and the average person might have a problem understanding it. However, President Barack Obama is not the average person. He is brilliant. He is also not trying to solve these problems totally on his own. He has assembled a team of equally brilliant experts on this and other subjects and listens to their counsel in making his decisions. As far as the economic crisis in particular, he has consulted many economists, liberal and conservative, not just the people in his administration. Furthermore, "has beens" like Carl Rove, Rush Limbaugh and Dick Chaney need to show more respect for the office of President of the United States. Constructive criticism has its place but I see nothing constructive in the recent comments of any of these individuals.Lastly, as far as "encouraging everyone to work together”, this President has met with Republican leaders, US House members, members of the US Senate, governors and mayors all in attempts to reach across the aisle and "encourage" everyone to work together. Even before his inauguration he met with John McCain and honored him and Colin Powell with dinners. I would say that President Obama's efforts to work with Republicans have been unprecedented especially considering his popularity and overwhelming victory on election night. Despite all these efforts and despite the Democrats adjusting the Recovery Plan to reflect some Republican “demands”, Republicans still voted against the bill with not one single Republican voting in favor. Some threatened filibuster once the bill reaches the Senate! You tell me who is trying to move this country forward and who is not only living in the past but trying to drag the rest of us back to the past—the Great Depression. The point of studying history is to learn from past mistakes not to repeat them. The voodoo economics of Reagan never ‘trickled down’ to me or my family. President Clinton left this country with a surplus. President George W Bush’s tax cuts only helped only the rich and coupled with this war left us a trillion dollars in debt. That’s before the financial crisis and mortgage crisis and the disastrous job losses. Someone once defined insanity as continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results. On November 4, 2009 over 53 million Americans voted to go forward with new ideas and change the way things are done. Let’s get on with it!

Im proud to say that I did not vote for him,he is putting America in more debt than ever.It will only get worse. Have you even read the details in the stimulus package. On the rich will be able to buy houses and get a rebate. It will average 10 thousand dollars over the next years to cover this stimulas. America does not need a make over, He wants socialism bad. Most of the package will not release money until 2010,2011,and 2012 Mark my words in 4 years if we are still here by Gods grace you will wish you did not vote for him.....................

Stimulus to ban religious worship
President Obama's proposed economic stimulus plan makes a deliberate—and unconstitutional—attempt to censor religious speech and worship on school campuses across the nation, according to a lawyer who argued related cases before the U.S. Supreme Court 20 years ago and won them all.
"This isn't like a convenient oversight. This is intentional. This legislation pokes its finger in the eyes of people who hold religious beliefs," Jay Sekulow, chief of the American Center for Law and Justice, told WND.
