The pre-emptive raids at the RNC are symtomatic of the obliteration of constitutional rights for any group of activistS; simply label a group of people a "terrorist threat" and constitutional rights may be suspended.
The Animal Enterprise Terrorist Act (AETA) seems to have set the precendent for restrictions on free speech for animal rights activists. Following this precedent to extinguish civil liberties, Assembly Bill 2296 --Researcher Protection Legislation, is now moving quietly through California making its way to Goveror Schwarzenegger. This legislation employs the typical "terrorist" label to oppress freedom of speech by prosecution; it further allows the police state to infer intent of written activists' information. Yes, police state -- that's what America has become.
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS, PLEASE OPPOSE THIS LEGISLATION BEFORE IT'S SIGNED INTO LAW.
