Barack's rally in Philadelphia isn't set to begin for a little while, but thousands of people are arriving to the Independence National Historical Park, located between Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, and they are definitely fired up!
We interviewed Jillian from Center City Philadelphia (pictured on the left), who has been in line since around 1:00 this afternoon.
When asked what brought her here so early, she replied “Oh, I’ve been doing this for five weeks. I volunteer every day at the Philadelphia Headquarters.”
Jillian has been dedicated to making Obama’s presence felt here in Pennsylvania. She’s been working for months registering voters and educating people about Barack, and founded Young Philadelphians for Obama. She says:
In every generation there is a movement for change. When my grandchildren ask me what I was doing when Barack Obama was running for president, I’m going to say I was right there.
Standing under an enormous blue blimp are members of the Boilermakers Union. One member, Fred (standing), is wearing a bright yellow shirt that reads “Boilermakers for Obama.”
He and his co-workers from the Philly shipyard have been supporters since day one. He supports Barack because:
He’s going to take big business out of the administration...We’re not opposed to free trade, but we want fair trade…It’s time for a change.
Stay tuned for more coverage of the rally, and make sure you know how to make you voice heard on Tuesday by finding your polling location and getting out to vote!
