Almost 7,000 people traveled to Cleveland tonight to hear Barack speak!Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, who recently endorsed Barack, kicked off the event by speaking about Barack's commitment to improving urban centers, helping young people, and improving healthcare and education. He said:
Senator Obama represents something. He represents the hope of America. He represents the future of America.
Barack spoke about the importance of investing in alternative energies. He said:
We need to invest in wind turbines, energy efficient buildings, and change our light bulbs. We're going to get those rural areas back on their feet with alternative energies like cellulosic ethanol.
We need a foreign policy that makes sense. I don't want to just end the war in Iraq, I want to end the mindset that got us in there. I want to end the politics of fear. I want to rediscover diplomacy. I don't want to meet with my friends, I want to meet with my enemies.
