Fire Is Born
Apr 21st 2008 at 3:41 pm EDT
....over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting. I guess the debate last week was the final straw. I've watched Senator Clinton and her husband play this game of appealing to the worst side of white people, but last Wednesday, when she hurled the name "Farrakhan" out of nowhere, well that's when the silly season came to an early end for me. She said the "F" word to scare white people, pure and simple. Of course, Obama has no connection to Farrakhan. But, according to Senator Clinton, Obama's pastor does -- AND the "church bulletin" once included a Los Angeles Times op-ed from some guy with Hamas! No, not the church bulletin!
This sleazy attempt to smear Obama was brilliantly explained the following night by Stephen Colbert. He pointed out that if Obama is supported by Ted Kennedy, who is Catholic, and the Catholic Church is led by a Pope who was in the Hitler Youth, that can mean only one thing: OBAMA LOVES HITLER!
Yes, Senator Clinton, that's how you sounded. Like you were nuts. Like you were a bigot stoking the fires of stupidity. How sad that I would ever have to write those words about you. (...)
How sad for a country that wanted to see the first woman elected to the White House. That day will come -- but it won't be you. We'll have to wait for the current Democratic governor of Kansas to run in 2016 (you read it here first).
There are those who say Obama isn't ready, or he's voted wrong on this or that. But that's looking at the trees and not the forest. What we are witnessing is not just a candidate but a profound, massive public movement for change. My endorsement is more for Obama The Movement than it is for Obama the candidate.
That is not to take anything away from this exceptional man. But what's going on is bigger than him at this point, and that's a good thing for the country. Because, when he wins in November, that Obama Movement is going to have to stay alert and active. Corporate America is not going to give up their hold on our government just because we say so. President Obama is going to need a nation of millions to stand behind him.

HQ, I hope you read this blog today. I would like to see a counter ad for Clinton's new kitchen ad.
The ad should not be identical to hers but it should include Osama and it should state that Hillary Clinton signed up for the wrong war. Our next president should have better judgment.
It should also note the number of soliders dead todate, how many allies are dead, and an actual widow with children that says, I lost my husband to this war, etc.
I think if this ad hit the airwaves today, it would counter attack the kitchen ad and give many PA residents the truth of the matter, which is Clinton helped in this war.

Dear Senator Casey,
I am not one of your "local" constituents, but as a citizen of this great nation, I know that "all" Senators are my representatives. As such, I would like to thank you for your support of Senator Obama's presidential campaign. It is clear from your efforts that you are a wise, thoughtful, and caring man, and Pennsylvania is lucky to have you for a Senator.
God bless you, thank you once more for all of your hard work on the campaign trail in PA on Sen. Obama's behalf, and no matter what happens tomorrow, his supporters know you have done your best to inspire Pennsylvanians to vote for change.
If you decide to run for another term in office, I will happily donate to your reelection campaign.

For giving me a my lost dreams back and inspiring "HOPE" that they can and will happen again...
Here is a bit about me: Disabled First American living on SSD. Not by choice but by a series of extreme accidents, nearly killed by 2 drunk drivers while at stop lights in SoCal and at lunch one time was involved in a hit and run car pedestrian event in 2003 (unsolved-I am one of 13% that survive annually) that left me with multiple head, physical injuries as well as ongoing PTSD.
Also while hospitalized as a jon doe (un-know person) for 6 months while in a coma, my insurance ceased due to non payment, lost a great job, ended up loosing a $750,000.00 condo, a new SUV and the quality of life of living in the amazing hills of Silver Lake-Los Feliz area in Los Angeles for 22 yrs.
I could say I am bitter, but I am not, I struggle daily to make my lill bit of money stretch, useless things no longer are important, I am alive and that is all that matters. My daily Mantra is: Go Elitist 13% survivor! lol
I live with my Foster/Aunt step mom and we share a great house although modest, here in South Dakota, not always easy as it is a small cow town and things are very expensive here, but we make it work as best we can.
Now this is my simple goal, I would like to have at least 2 or more friends from all states and countries from here on our on our B.H.O. Blog family...age, gender, racial heritage, sexual orientation, religion, income level or any thing else makes no difference. As i see all people equally...in every situation. Barack Obama steps from inside a caboose unto a small railing-lined deck and calls out, "All aboard the Change Train!" While drapings of red, white and blue flutter in the passing breezes, he becons the crowds that line the railroad tracks to his side, always smiling, always Hopeful.
That's the vision that keeps running through my head and although its only a vision, its how I see this campaign.
I also see that we are building a full head of steam now and the tracks we are on lead directly to the White House door. Our opponents keep trying to derail us, fabricating obstructions along our way, but they keep failing because we have the best cow-catcher ever devised, its called TRUTH, and with it we keep barreling through their smoke and mirrors, leaving their shattered lies scattered upon the dust.
And as we pass they hear us yell, "Not This Time! Not This Time!"
Now climb aboard, stoke that boiler and toot the victory whistle, cause we are coming through!
Yes we can!

The final Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the Democratic Presidential Primary in Pennsylvania shows Hillary Clinton with 49% of the vote and Barack Obama with 44%. This election poll was conducted Sunday afternoon and evening.
Overall, with just one day to go, 7% of Pennsylvania voters remain undecided and 3% say there’s a good chance they will change their mind. Rasmussen Markets data shows that Clinton is given a 91.9% chance of winning in Pennsylvania at this time.
Early in 2008, most Democratic voters viewed both candidates favorably. That is no longer the case. Just 43% of Obama voters have a favorable opinion of Clinton. Only 42% of Clinton voters have a favorable opinion of Obama.

As a party we should all be concerned. With each day that passes our chances and probability of winning in Nov. diminishes. Issues like "bitter-gate" are a prime example. There is no reason that story deserved the attention it received. If every word that Hillary said in private were scrutinized teh public would be appauled. What the Clinton campaign did by sensationalizing a non-story is reprehensable and should not go overlooked.
Like it or not, right now we are in the midst of an 'party civial war'. Barack Obama has won more states, more delegates, and more popular votes. Those facts are likly to stay the same through June 3rd. If I had to guess, but check with Vegas, the odds of HRC overtaking Barack in popular votes has to be less then 20%. She has exactly 0% chance of overtaking him in states won or democratic delegates.
So now I posit a question. Of the two candidates has a better chance of uniting the Party? Please consider, Hillary has burned bridges with one of the most influential voting blocks in the Party, Moveon.org. Still further nominating Hillary. in spite of trailing in states won, pledged delegates, and popular vote would create a tremendous dielema AKA the "perception" that party insiders stole the nomination from the only viable African American candidate in American History.
It's nice and good that this nominating process was longer then usual. It sharpened Barack's diverse cataloge of skill sets. He is a far better debater, particularly when a Clinton advisor is not moderating it. He is acustom to Republican-esk attacks, the Clintons have resorted to them since New Hampshire. At the end of the conversation, party infighting is increasingly diminishing our chances in Nov.
For the good of the party please endorse who you believe has the best chance and opportunity to unite The Democratic Party in the short 6 months we have untill Nov.
Thank you for you consideration,

If you want to see how this will end ... spend moment perusing the FEC report. When you raise $20 million during the month of March and only $8 million is available for use during the primary that is very, very bad. But that is nothing compared to the fact that the campaign on April 1 is more than $10 million in debt. In other words, she starts out April with no cash, only debts.

I wish the response ad would be totally opposite. No dark images, white house at night, fearful stuff. It should be bright and sunny, full of hopeful images. and the annoucer can say, "We need a leader who isn't afraid of the tough chanllenges in America. We need a leader who has confidence, optimism, hope, and judgement, and the ability to bring our country together to solve what we face."
Then Barack saying "Nothing can stand in the way of millions of voices calling for change"

So, if you live in Pennsylvania, can you do me a favor? Will you please cast my vote -- and yours -- on Tuesday for Senator Barack Obama?

I don't hate what you said. I think what Rendell said on that video is right on. It's just that it exposes yet another HRC hypocrisy since she won't, of course, reject and denounce Rendell the night before the PENN primary.
This notion that if anyone we're friendly with ever did or said anything "bad" or "wrong" or even despicable means we should discard them out of hand is simply ridiculous.
That's why I'm glad about this story. Because as MIchael Moore said today, she has used the F (arrakhan) word to scare white people (like me)!!

This may be an unpopular opinion, but Minister Farakhan has been so demonized already in this campaign. I do not agree with everything he says but he has done many wonderful things through the Nation of Islam. Thats why Govenor Rendell invited him and spoke well of him. Its the Rev Wright situation only more venomous because he is a follower of Islam.
Before any of you attack, watch his speaches on you tube, listen to the letter he wrote President Bush after 9/11 begging him not to use that incident as an excuse to go to war with Iraq. Research the things he has done to improve peoples lives. Remember the Million Man March, demanding that AA men come together as men to improve their societies.
I think it is hypocritical of Hillary to have invoked his name to create fear about Barack, but further vilification of Farakhan is not in order.

In a recent poll conducted in Canada, Obama was favored over McCain by a 5 to 1 margin. In addition, he was favored over Clinton by 9 points-not a small achievement considering most Canadians do not know Barack Obama. The most telling tale of the polls was the question asked "would you vote for Barack Obama as Canadian Prime Minister." The result was Obama would win an election and become Canadian Prime Minister, regardless of which Canadian party he ran for.
I think the main reason for this adulation is one of our national tv networks ran the story of Barack and Michelle's trip to Kenya. That film should be put on this site for all to see.
There were numerous amazing parts of that trip. One was when Michelle and Barack took an aids test to prove to the villagers that was the right thing to do.
But for me, and I'm sure countless numbers of other Canadians, the most impressive part was Barack going into these small destitute villages, meeting with the folks with the biggest despair and LISTENING to them and understanding their misery and problems.
Imagine how powerful of an image that projects to the world. A President of the US listening to the small people and actually understanding their problems and learning how to fix them.
Compare that image to the last 8 years of fear, intimidation, threats and warmongering.
Pennsylvania, the world desperately needs Barack Obama, make the right choice tommorrow.

Okay, I confess. I'm home for lunch and I turned on MSNBC. It's the only way I catch up with 'major' events while I'm working. Anyway, they keep stressing that Barack is outspending HRC 3-to-1. And that if he can't win with this level of spending, blah, blah, blah, . . . What they (of course) do not mention is her brand name (familiarity) and the fact that he did not use 'street money' and that she has the Democratic machine in PA behind her. Y0u don't need to tell me to turn it off. I watch very little, mainly KO, but I have to get some info. So it's you folks and lunch breaks with MSNBC, etc.

Don't get discouraged. The MSM did this just before Texas. They focused on Hillary a week before the primary and did nothing but negative for Obama. It is true that he had an uphill battle in Pennsylvania because Hillary is so well-known. It is just their spin. The people know the difference. They have it figured out.

The positive spin is that he is able to out spend her 3-1 and have no Debt.
Must mean more donors,
Must mean we trust him
Must mean we catch the Vision
Must mean he has more delegates
Must mean he is winning the popular Vote
Must mean than he will POTUS in 08!
How about that, ohh yea and its sad to say that she and her Husband are a house hold name with backers and she can not raise any money or that she still battling in a primary that she thought she would win hands down. Spin that.

Here are some of the funnier blog comments that I have found on the HRC/Osama Bin Laden ad:
--- I'm Hillary Clinton, and I'm bankrupt and desperate."
--- I'm sure that it's just because she doesn't have the money to run it.
--- It's a good thing that there's youtube, or nobody would be able to see her ads anymore...
--- OK, that's it for me.
--- Senator Clinton has lowered herself to the level of George Bush and the Republicans. I haven't been thrilled with her campaign, simply because I think it's been poorly run.
This, though, removes any doubt that Senator Clinton is willing to use any sort of weapon to gain her goal, even if it does damage to the country.
Shame on Senator Clinton. Shame.
--- You said it. I was sick of Bush and Cheney playing the fear card already 8 years ago, and I don't think I'm alone in that. Now she's heading toward the convention stage as Giuliani 2. It started at the debate. She got 9/11 in 5 times. So in addition to being just reptilian and vile, this woman is totally out of touch. Is that what money and petty power and influence do to your brain?
--- truly despicable!!! this is the nail in HRC's coffin, I can't wait until Wednesday when the superdel's head en masse over to the Obama camp.

Greetings everyone!
The big day is tomorrow - the PA primary! And we need to get the vote out!
Thousands of our fellow Obama supporters from PA and across the country are pounding the pavement in PA today and tomorrow turning our vote out. And the polls this morning are looking good! But we need a HUGE turnout in the Philadeplhia area to score the BIG upset! So lets pull together and put the puppy to bed!
We need to cover the backs of our volunteers in PA tomorrow. They are doing the heavy lifting and we need to step up to the plate and help them. Many of our out of state volunteers have traveled a great distance, at their own expense to assist the ground game in PA.
So, please, pick up the phone today and expecially tomorrow and help our volunteers on the gound turn out the vote.
And to those of you who regularly post comments on this blog but ordinarily don't make phone calls, PLEASE help out tomorrow. With so many supporters to reach via phone, we need everyones help!
And in the event that we need a reminder of what this election is about, please listen to Senator Obama's own words here.

Also, her Osama Bin Laden commercial isn't going over that it is turning voters off. Thanks to the generosity of many who donated their valuable frequent flyer miles, we sent 29 out-of-state volunteers to Texas and Ohio, and another 32 to Pennsylvania.
This means ***1,525,000 MILES*** have been donated to date – putting ***61 VOLUNTEERS*** on the ground, helping bring it home for Barack.
DONORS: It takes 25,000 miles for a ticket. So – who’s got at least 25,000 on the same airline which they’d like to donate toward making sure Barack Obama is our next President?
Step right up — I’m getting requests almost daily from volunteers who want to help but can’t afford the airfare. Donate now, please, so we can get these people where they’re most needed. *** WE NEED MORE MILES! ***
VOLUNTEERS: If you want to spend a week or more in IN or NC, but can’t afford to pay your own way, contact me and I’ll try to match you with an airline ticket.
Please call me at 714-536-6104 California time. (Don’t reply on the blogs; I probably won’t see your response.)

I canvassed in PA Saturday and Sunday with one of my high school students and we’re going out again tomorrow. But that means I wasn’t able to post this message and work much on fundraising. It appears that Hillary is more than a million in debt for the month of April. If this thing is close, I think it’s game over for Hillary. Please give if you can!
We have 16-15-14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5 -4-3-2 days to give to Pennsylvania. This campaign has thus far raised about twice as much as The Other campaign. But we’ve got to keep going, we must finish this thing off. There are many ways to support this campaign, one way is to give. The list totals $11,703-$11,653-$11,613-$11,30 7-$11,107-$10,897-$10,852-$10, 847-$10,745-$10,720-$10,710 right now. I challenge this blog and this camping to knock off these 10-9-8 names by the Pennsylvania primary.
If you have never given before, be one of the new donors to help us reach the 1,500,000 to give to the campaign so far. Are you sitting on the sideline or are you in the fight?
The Top Ten List:
1. Mama For Obama has been sitting up here for a while. Can anyone give the max donation of $2300? She made her page on Jan 17 in honor of Future First Lady Michelle Obama's birthday, the “#1 mama”. $4491-$4476-$4471-$4461-$4351- $4326-$4276-$4256-$4241-$4191- $4166-$4141-$4116-$4106-$4096- $4071-$4046-$3996-$3971-$3951- $3926-$3876-$3861-$3836-$3586- $3576-$3481-$3456-$3431-$3421- $3396-$3346-$3261-$3036-$3000- $2990-$2980-$2950-$2905-$2900- $2890

4. Jill helped another Obama friend raise over $800. Now she needs help. Can we give her some? $1665-$1655-$1665-$1645-$1619- $1519-$1469-$1459-$1438-$1413- $1403

5. Denise wrote, “A year ago I would have never imagined I'd be spending a Saturday making calls soliciting support for a political candidate. For that matter blogging, sign waving, or reading every word a health care plan… Can anyone can help out?” Well? $900-$875-$850-$740-$715-$680- $615-$605-$595-$575-$540 to go.

6. Willie B writes: If one has done it so can you, if no one has done it that one can be you. He’s looking for $1000-$855-$845-$825-$810 -$760-$735

Guys let us all email every MSM to ask them this question:
We have seen your loops and commentary on Obama’s relationship with Rev Wright and Obama’s Bitter-gate for several weeks. Where are you looping on Ed Rendell’s praise of Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam (Link)? What is good for a goose is good for a gander; Hillary Clinton should reject and denounce Ed Rendell for his “endorsement of Louis Farrakhan!

CNN's Larry King previewed Hillary's interview and told Campbell Brown that one of things that she said is that she had a cabinet position for John McCain!!! The same John McCain that she thought Obama should not have stated was better than George Bush???!!

We need help in Northeast Philly Monday and Tuesday for "get out the vote"(or GOTV)
1) The process of identifying Obama’s NE Philly supporters, voter identification ("ID-ing") -- the major focus of our canvassing and phone calls during the last 4 weeks is completed.
2) Now we must do "get out the vote"(or GOTV); includes telephoning known supporters on the day of the election and Monday to remind them to vote, and providing rides to the polls to known supporters), and active tracking of eligible voters who have already voted.
3) A 90% turnout from known Obama's base is better than a 50 percent turnout from Hillary’s supporters.
4) GOTV is extremely important in this high turn-out election. In this election turnout can be critical in determining the election results.
The office is located at 1607 Pratt St, Philadelphia, PA 19124, across the street from the Frankford Transportation Center .

YEAH!!! The stage is set for an historic Pennsylvania primary. Staff and volunteers worked hard on GOTV today, getting those door hangars to every door of every voter we know to be a Hope and Change supporter - including any Undecideds leaning in our direction. That is GOTV of the highest class, baby!…
Whoaaa!!! Montgomery, Bucks and Delaware Counties, which used to be predominantly Republican, may prove to be big winners for us this time. FINGERS CROSSED! We have some of the best manned regional offices I have seen in this election cycle, right here in Delaware County, some 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. The young field organizers here are AWESOME, and with them, we don’t need to waste any so-called “street money.”
You have to be in Pennsylvania to witness the enthusiasm!!!
I can’t wait for the Convention in August when we’ll celebrate Barack’s nomination in grand style.
OK! Here’s the FUN PART OF THE STORY….
COME ON, PEOPLE!!! YOU KNOW I AM STILL MATCHING ALL SMALL DONATIONS TO MY PERSONAL FUNDRAISER UNTIL APRIL 22ND...
I am still FIRED UP with HOPE for Barack, especially after dusting all the inanities of the last debate off my shoulders. DO IT LIKE BARACK: just shake the dirt off your shoulders, drink water and drive on… to VICTORY!
Pennsylvania is almost here, folks, and we have proved time and time again that we can win big in any state if we really work hard at it. An overwhelming feeling of hope and happiness... YES WE CAN!
Link
I've set my own personal fundraising goal for the campaign, which you can see in the thermometer on my page. YES I CAN!
Link
Just as I did in the past, I will continue to invest as much money in the campaign to win Pennsylvania as you donate to Barack's campaign through my personal fundraiser, up to the amount of $5,000.00.
Link
Please, can you donate to Barack and help me close the matching gap, and add more fuel into our Pennsylvania motivation? YES YOU CAN!
Link
Will you make a generous donation to help me reach my goal, and motivate me further to work even harder for Barack?
