James (Obamacrat) sent me this message:
Just to let you know, my wife Mary "Obamacan" just donated $625.00 to Ilya's fundraiser. My wife is disabled like myself. We noticed what you wrote about Ilya and liked it; a hard working volunteer in PA.
I had already reached my $2300 limit. With this donation to Ilya my wife has now reached the $2300 limit also. Phew!
These are the kinds of responses I get to this list. And the receivers of donations get similar notes. It’s pretty inspiring.
Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could take #1 off the list? We need 154 people giving $25 to move off Mama For Obama. Also, three Pennsylvania people on the list.
The Top Ten List:
1. Here’s a Mama For Obama. $4491 more, now $4476-$4471-$4461-$4351-$4326- $4276-$4256-$4241-$4191-$4166- $4141-$4116-$4106-$4096-$4071- $4046-$3996-$3971-$3951-$3926- $3876-$3861 (or 154 donations of $25)
Link
2. Here is Lisa From L.A. She needs $880 more…make that $870-$865-$855-$805-$795
Link
3. New To This has raised much of her $5,000 but still is lacking $1475-$1465-$1455-$1420-$1410- $1400
Link
4. Brenda from Richmond is looking for another $450-$440-$435-$415-$390
Link
5. Adam_Philadelphia has been spending ALL his time on the ground in Philly rousing the troops. He needs a boost in his fundraising, if we can do it. $910-$860-$850-$805-$705-$680- $655-$630.
Link
6. Ilya needs $955-$930…WOW $305-$245 more. HE’s a volunteer coordinator working his heart out in Pennsylvania and doesn’t have a lot of time to raise money. Can we help him?
Link
7. IManOBAMAmama has been VERY busy starting groups in PA and making calls. Can we help her make her goal while she’s busy on the ground? $980-$965-$915-890 to go.
Link
8. Jill helped another Obama friend raise over $800. Now she needs help. Can we give her some? $1665-$1655 to go.
Link
9. Denis wrote, “A year ago I would have never imagined I'd be spending a Saturday making calls soliciting support for a political candidate. For that matter blogging, sign waving, or reading every word a health care plan… Can anyone can help out?” Well? $900-$875-$850 to go.
Link
10. Joe Ruwe needs $905-$800 to go.

My mom and I are big-time Obama supporters, and we would like to know his stand on Senate bill 1959, the "Thought Crimes Bill". We are very concerned that this bill threatens freedom of speech in public forums, including the internet. It has also come to our attention that the bill is currently in committee and he has power over whether or not it will be passed.
Why is he not speaking out on this bill? And if he has, what has he said?

Sorry for spam..
Can someone please make this viral. I am sicking of watching MSM with this on the tip of my tongue, yet NO-ONE addresses it.
I am sick of Hillary spin.
RONALD REAGAN LOST PENNSYLVANIA IN THE PRMARIES BUT WON IN THE GENERAL ELECTION.
IN 2000 AL GORE WON NEW HAMPSHIRE IN THE PRIMARIES, BUT LOST IT TO G.W. BUSH. THE KICKER IS THAT BUSH LOST N.H. MISERABLY IN HIS PRIMARY CONTEST.
Ted Kennedy beat Jimmy Carter in the 1980 Pennsylvania primary, but it was Carter who won the nomination.
Secondly, Pennsylvania has not played a leading role in choosing a nominee in a quarter-century. Since 1984 the primaries were already wrapped up by time the dems got to Pennsylvania.
Finally, for Obama, potential swing states like Virginia and Colorado (or others) would essentially undo the damage of a possible Pennsylvania defeat in the GE.

I have never been inspired by a political candidate like I have been with Barack Obama. He is the right man for the job, and he has the leadership qualities required and the plans in place to get the job done and restore hope to Americans from every walk of life, every political party, every race & ethnicity, and every financial background. His campaign is funded by the people, and he will help people like you and me when he is our next President.
I've made phone calls over the last few weeks to voters in Virginia, Maryland, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Ohio, Wyoming, and Mississippi. I've been doing other ground work on my own, including sending emails and messages almost daily to friends and family. And I've made two cash donations to the campaign as well.
My birthday is coming up in a few days, St. Patrick's Day, March 17th. Since I will be heading into my final year of my 20's, turning 29, I have decided that I need a very special present since the realization that I will be thirty in a little over a year is not coming easy.
What I'm asking is for 100 of you Obama supporters out there to donate $17 to my fundraising campaign. My goal is $1700 by 11:59 PM on March 17th, and I’m a little worried I’m not going to make it. I’m currently at a little over $700, so please send in your $17 donation today. If you can donate more, that is even better! Who knows, maybe it will bring you a little luck. The downside of the youtube thing.
I am actually glad that this is out now, because the Republicans will have a blood fest with this (plus Michelle's statement).
This is a very difficult situation for Sen. Obama, and may be it should be Rev Wright who owes us an explanation of what he meant.
But apart from the content of the sermon, which I agree to to a certain extent, I truly dislike the delivery style.

I don't agree with Pastor Wright either, but let's try to look at the bright side:
The story is not on the front page of CNN, MSNBC, CBS News websites, only ABC & Faux, because they are trying to drive the story. This information has been out there for some time and they are only bringing it out now, why is this, could it be because it really is a non-story. Last time I checked, Wright wasn't the one running for office.
Barack has repudiated the remarks already. There really isn't much else to say.
It's Friday, traditionally a news-dumping day, not as many people pay attention over the weekend. If they bring out the story now, it will get some play, but most people will be preoccupied with their own lives and the media can pat itself on the back for going ahead with the story.
Lastly, I really don't think any of the candidates want to go there - Clinton's pastor resigned over sexual indiscretions, Obama's got Wright and McCain has Hagee & Parsley.
If any of these candidates were to be held responsible for the words of their supporters, none of them would still be running.
I judge a candidate on their personal actions, not the actions of others. I do not agree with what Ferraro or Wright say, but I will defend their right to say it.

...First ask yourself these questions:
Do you agree with Hillary's vote in favor of the Kyl-Lieberman ammendment?
Do you agree with Bill Clinton's bombing the pharmaceutical plant in the Sudan which eventually killed tens of thousands due to lack of medicine?
Did you know that Hillary voted in favor of No Child Left Behind in 2001?
Did you know that Hillary did not in fact vote against the bankruptcy reform bill in 2005 (as she claimed in the Nevada debate)? It turns out she didn't vote at all in '05 and in '01 she voted for it hoping it wouldn't pass.
Did you know that the mass genocide that occurred in Rwanda happened on Bill Clinton's watch?
Do you agree with Hillary's appointing Sandy Berger as one of her National Security advisors? Berger plead guilty to stealing and destroying classified intelligence documents (they were related to 9/11).
Do you agree with Hillary's having Mark Penn as one of her chief strategists (a major voice for her campaign) who represents Blackwater as well as a huge uniform supplier that refused to deal with the Culinary Workers Union and that he has a history of being a known union buster?
Do you agree with the Clinton's support of NAFTA?
Do you agree with Hillary's voting against increasing fuel economy and the production of renewable fuels like Ethanol?
Do you agree with Hillary's mandated health care plan that to this day leaves out the consequences for middle to lower income families who can't afford the rates she is proposing?
Do you agree with Hillary's statement in regards to social security that the majority of Americans in this country make over 90,000 dollars a year?
Do you agree with Hillary's voting against providing seniors with a prescription drug benefit?
Do you agree with Hillary's support and defense of lobbysists?
Do you agree with Hillary's support of current bankrupcy laws that continue to hurt lower income Americans and small businesses?
Do you agree with Hillary's voting against medical liability reform so that doctors are not forced out of practice for junk lawsuits?

Do you agree with Hillary's opposition against a level playing field so that people who pay for health insureance out of their own pocket get the same tax break the big corporations get for providing health care benefits to their employees?
Did you know that Hillary is against allowing people to shop for health insurance across state lines like we do with auto insurance?
Do you agree with Hillary's voting against allowing people to save tax free for their out-of-pocket medical expenses?
Did you know that Hillary has voted for penalizing senior citizens who have those private health care plans through Medicare?
Did you know that Hillary will not release her tax returns to the public until after she has secured the nomination?
Did you know that Hillary voted against the cluster bomb ban?
Did you know that Hillary refuses to sign a pledge to restore our constitutional liberties (something all of the other democratic contenders signed)?
Do you agree with Hillary's voting for the authorization of the Iraq war and not reading the NIE report?

Sean Hannity Bill O’Reilly Rush Limbaugh and other so called conservatives are having a great time attacking Senator Obama for comments made by his minister.
Regardless what that minister may have said, and who he chooses to endorse or support, I can’t seem to find any evidence of physical damage this minister has done to any American citizens.
If Fox news considers the comments made by the Minister to be offensive, as offensive as this mans comments may have been, he does not speak for Senator Obama and all Black people.
The minister’s comments as offensive as it may sound, has done no physical damage to any American Citizens in comparison to the damage done to African Americans in the 80s and 90s by Military officer now a current Fox News employee, that never spend a day in jail for his crimes against minorities. (

Let me remind Fox News of book written by Gary Webb Title Dark Alliance {

The evidence is very clear, that Fox News employs a person that was once involved in supplying drugs to American Ghettos were most of the residents were African Americans. I encourage Fox News and the so called conservatives, to look into their own closet for skeletons before attacking Senator Obama.

Fox does not report the news. They comment on it. A very BIG difference for someone who is not eager to use another source.
The GOOD NEWS is that you have a choice.
There is PBS, online news outfits such as UPI, and your local news channel.
Cable networks, in particular, compete for ratings based on their being 'outrageous'---so you know that they 'make up' the news most of the time.

Here's a FUN IDEA that our political discussion group has been doing in Minneapolis. We're sending letters to the people in Pennsylvania that share our names. For example, my name is Ken Allen and there are 33 Ken Allen's that live in Pennsylvania.
Here are some tips
- Personalize your letter. Tell them about your earliest known ancestor. Or tell them about where you live.
- Tell them why you support Barack Obama
- Write your note on the back of a printout of one of Obama's policy papers
And most of all, whether they are a Republican Democrat or Independent, remind them that they need to be registered for the Democratic Primary on 3/24 to vote for Barack Obama on 4/22.
Here's a website that will show you the people in PA that share your name. Just enter your name with the state of PA and hit Search.

It's a great opportunity for Barack to address the fear around the false email claiming he's a secret Muslim, and for him to talk about faith and the role it can and should play in our public lives. It will be a GREAT opportunity for him to show us how he will lead during times of stress and worry. How he will answer those who would divide us with rhetoric and ugly talk. We need to all work together to solve our problems. Continuing to spew distrust and hatred will only get us more of what we have right now.

You know guys, I've never given to a political campaign before in my life. I've given over $200 to this campaign even when my wife and I don't really have the money to spare, because I believed.
We made campaign phone calls, talked to friends and neighbors, sent e-mails trying to get support for Obama here in Texas and other states, we're both delegates for Obama, because we believed.
I've been enraged by the tactics of Clinton and was constantly digging articles and e-mailing news networks and leaving messages on forums here and at CNN CONSTANTLY, because I believed what was happening to Obama and his supporters was wrong.
But yesterday, when I saw Barack's paster of 20 years spewing forth what I consider strong hate statements towards Caucasians and saying the words "God d**n the USA"... my heart instantly broke. Because my feeling is, if you go to a church and put up with those kinds of messages for over 2 decades... then that's what you believe.
Honestly, at this point, I really am heart broken. This is not something Hillary has done to Obama... this is something he put up with for 20 years. No amount of rejecting or denouncing at this late hour is going to make up for attending and listening to that kind of bitterness and hatred for that long.
I feel lost in this election now. I had found and believed in so much hope for our future of uniting this country together like we never had seen before.
But today, all those people we got to support Obama and the dream of unity, our heart is broken. I don't know what to do now and I'm not sure what Obama is going to be able to say to make me understand why he would ever have respect for someone that uses that kind of hateful language in a place that is suppose to be about forgiveness, understanding, and brotherhood.
My heart is broken, because I believed, and now I can't believe what I've heard. God bless the USA, and God help us now.

Read Obama's blog he posted at Huffington Post. He said he was not even there when some of these remarks were made and has come out as early as last year denouncing them. I think all of us disagree with some of the things said, but do you think Obama was enfluenced at all by these remarks or ever thought them himself?
I am a Catholic, but after years of the church doing and saying stuff I just dont agree with I became more open to all religions. I read about all religions and keep an open mind and I do not believe anyone should be judged by their religion. I understand not liking the comments about America but havent we all at some point looked at how some people in this country act or things coming out of or government and just shake our heads.
I know in my heart Obama is the type of person I want leading this country, someone who has the good moral judgement not to make me shake my head with his actions when leading us.

Let me just say that I, nor you, need to feel lost by this. You haven't been hoodwinked or lead astray by some candidate who has been pimping you. His message and issues are the same as they always have been.
Let me also explain something else to you. I read a book today to some of my students about the south during slavery from the eyes of a young white girl. It was from an actual diary of what she saw at a slave auction and how black people were considered to be 3/5 of a person. She couldn't understand any of this. The book brought tears to my eyes. That's an unfortunate truth of American history. That history is is part of the driving force for some angry words spoken by some. That doesn't make Wright hateful or Obama his faithful follower either. It's a history that some of us are still healing from and wanting to move beyond in ideals.
How many of us here have said something or someone we know has said something that they have regretted, would like to take back or disassociate with? If we all did that, we'd be alone in the world.
Our country is in serious peril for many reasons, and if something like this defines our candidates, then how will we get better as a nation, towards each other, despite our race?
That's what Obama wants, that's what we here want and millions of others who support Obama.
I'm saying don't lose hope and faith in what you have helped to build. We all have, one person at a time and one dollar at a time. That's our common thread here, considering how little we know of each other. Focus on these things and continue to support what we have believed in all along. I know it won't be in vain.

Kris,
Here's what you need to do:
- first of all, read what Barack has said about this in the Huffington post today.
- think about the type of life Barack has lead.
- Barack became a lawyer because he believes in the rule of law and he believes in our legal system. It's not perfect and maybe thats why...
- he's served in the Illinois State Senate for 8 years.
- he's served in the U.S Senate for 2 years.
- understand that a person doesnt run for office if they don't believe in the U.S or its government.
- look at his voting record in both the Illinois State Senate and the U.S Senate and you'll see what he stands for.
Barack could've gone off to work for a law firm making millions of dollars a year. I think anyone who hated America and who just had the potential to make as much money as they could, would've done that.
- lastly, just look at how Barack Obama has handled himself in this campaign and look at what he says and does. I think it's quite clear that he's got a set of values that are frankly far beyond what we see in most politics. He doesnt believe in gutter politics and win at all cost tactics.
I think if you really have any doubts at this point in the game over stuff the MSM is trying to dredge up, then it's probably playing into fears and insecurities you've had from the start. What more can people say except, look at his life and look at his behavior and listen to what he advocates. We already know what he believes. Don't buy into the fear campaign.

And when was the last time you heard a Presidential candidate or ANY politician for that matter say the following:
"I am not a perfect man. I will make mistakes..."
Barack has said this on occassion to remind us that we too need to be level headed about the problems we face and the difficulties we will have trying to solve them. Barack is not the second coming of Jesus Christ. He's just a man, but he's a good one and I think it's about time we had a President who was as modest and humble and down to earth as Barack Obama.

But that's the problem I'm having right now. I am looking at his life, his complete life, and that includes the 20 years that he supported this man Wright with his attendance, this man, who right after the tragic loss of life on 9/11 (and trust me, I'm no 9/11 drum beater okay, but this still really bothers me) gives a sermon where he is saying that a community of people should ask God to damn this country and how those innocent people in those buildings were somehow to blame.
Yes, I'm sure Obama when he decided to run for office as early as last year DID decide to start distancing himself from those comments. But is that political, or is it something he would have stood up against even if he wasn't running for office now?
I'm not saying that I've given up on Obama as a candidate, as of right now, I'm still in his corner. But I'm shocked that he would be associated with such mind blowing hatefulness for so long and still speak of any kind of respect towards the man that spewed it. Also, I was a member of a church for 7 years in my youth. One day the pastor of the church got up and made a "political" sermon about gays and how they're all abominations and going to be damned for eternity. He also went on to talk about how they're all sexual deviants and more than likely child molesters since they were more than likely molested and that is what turned them to homosexuality. After 7 years, without any thought, I got up , walked out of that place, and never went back. There were plenty of spiritual guides and churches that didn't spew that kind of "personal" message from the pulpit or in private. So I guess I'm not buying into the "meat" from the "bones" argument because of that.
I'm also not letting the MSM play into some kind of "fears" I had from the beginning. I think that kind of argument is blinding. We can't chalk everything up to big media conspiracy. I'm an independent because I do believe in thinking for myself.
I still say he's better for this country than Hillary and McCain. I'm just saddened that he would put up with that sort of hate speech for that long.

My dad is a racist because of the time and place he was born into. We disagree on this issue prfoundly. The flip side of that is that the older black community from that same time period have their own bitter hangups.

There were so many roadblocks between my father and I. We were both responsible for setting them up on the pavement.
In the end, I thanked him for being a responsible dad by getting up everyday and going to work. I never had a worry about a meal or a safe place to sleep. AND, his being responsible meant that my mom could stay at home with me - which is the ultimate blessing. My mom was my main influence. She set GOOD EXAMPLES!

Well, the reason I'm still being cautious about my candidate is he made the "god damn the USA" comments over 5 years ago... are you telling me Obama didn't hear about that until last year? I think you also need to be careful to attack someone just because they have some questions and concerns about a candidate that they have supported for a very long time and have been fighting for just as much as you have. If you attack me for asking a question, then you're just as bad as the party line toting Bush people who attack anyone that "dares" question Bush about anything. Remember, there are people that "believe" in Bush as much as we have believed in Obama. Not everything is a big media conspiracy... some things are true... but if you write off everything as B.S. ... then you become blind. I questioned, I got an answer here because of some level headed supporters that I can live with right now. But I will never blindly support anyone again, not after what Bush and his blind followers did to this country. It's our duty as citizens to question and demand answers from any of our political leaders at any time, otherwise we are just sheep, no matter how amazing our Shepard seems at the time.

Hello, Kris.
I just read your message on the blog about being heartbroken. I'm sure there is nothing that I can say that will give you comfort at this time, though I would like to.
Because I am not familiar with Senator Obama's church, I cannot speak to the pastor's comments. However, it may be that the pastor is overwhelmed by the recent events involving former Congresswoman Ferraro. I know I am overwhelmed. Ms. Ferraro does not speak for me.
I'm 39. Women before me did amazing work to break glass ceilings, and I honor both the women who stood up and said that there should be equal pay for equal play. I also know that there were white men who, for whatever reason, made the choice to hire and promote women. The results have been positive. Our daughters shouldn't have to worry about these things or sexual harassment in the work place. Neither should our sons.
Over the years, friends, co-workers, and family members have shared with me their distress over a certain religious leader or another. In many of these cases, the religious leaders have become distracted with personal issues and haven't the tools to cope with the situation they find themselves in. It's strange, isn't it? We entrust educated leaders with our spiritual guidance, and sometimes those leaders forget their training.
Sometimes, congregations have some power in requesting leave for the spiritual leaders. In these situations just as in the workplace, it is best to carefully document inconsistencies in order to establish that there wasn't just one isolated incident. If you had a really crappy day and mouthed off to everyone in your family, they have every reason to set you right, but they shouldn't disown you. Instead, they should reach out and do everything they can to uncover the root of your difficulties. Good physical care comes from treating the source, not the symptoms. The same applies to our spiritual health. If there is a problem, we must be diligent in our efforts to provide love to the one who is hurting.
I'm sure the pastor at the United Church of Christ in Chicago is a beloved person. At his hour of need, I would expect that his congregation would want to help him rather than toss him out.
Wishing you a brand new day...
Bobbie Sue

I have struggled with my own faith and staying involved in Catholicism. In my 36 years on this Earth, I have had some of the best people ever be my parish priests. I have also had some very bigoted priests say homilies (sermons) in my presence. (Barack has said on tv that his Secret Service name is Renegade...I can relate when I speak up against misdeeds in my faith! It is not easy.) I had to ask myself why I stay, especially when my Archdiocese has been bankrupted by sexual abuse from the past. In the end, I have stayed not because of the leaders on the altar, but because of the leaders in my community sitting next to me in the pew week after week. I stay because I read what Christ had to say and he actually was a very progressive fellow, and his values match mine pretty darn closely. My parish taught me to serve my community and those in need. I pay attention to what He said, and don't give as much to some of the misguided words and deeds of my faith's leaders. I also stay because I have hope. Hope that someday things can be better and different in my faith. Sound familiar to this campaign? :)
Finally, I know sometimes when a hurt runs deep, people get passionate and express themselves dramatically--partly to get others' attention and partly to release some of the hurt. Perhaps this is part of the few seconds of video we have seen that the MSM is trying to say speak for a lifetime of work.

It is easy to get caught up in the negativity or cheerleeding of the media. Today, like many others, the focus is on negativity. Last week, there was a question about whether Barack was a Muslim, now we are talking about his church, so he is Christian. I am confused!
In any case, lets look at the bigger picture. Barack has picked up 45+ superdelegates since February 5th and Hillary has lost 7. Since March 4th, even after the media played up a win in Texas (lie) and Ohio for Hillary, he still picked up superdelegates. Richardson all but endorsed him. The delegates are quiety coming over to Barack. Notice every few days he gets another superdelegate. Hillary has not received one. The superdelegates know what is on the line and I have full faith that they do not want to single handedly bring down the democratic party (which is what will happen if they go against what the majority of Democratics want).
I believe Hillary will benefit in PA from the media's help in making Barack into the "Black" candidate. Barack cannot do anything about people who are racist. All the campaigning in the world won't change people that have racist views. After PA he looks good in several more states. We will end with more delegates, the popular vote and having won more states. Be patient people. Obama is going to overcome the negative media attention and be our Democratic nominee.
You have my support until the end Barack.

Just so we're clear, "the end" as you put it, will never come.
Our work is not done once our candidate is elected.
That's why our campaign is different.
We've got to have Barack's back all through his Presidency. We have to be tuned in and participate. We need to show up at council meetings. We need to write letters to our representatives. We need to ask ourselves if we are willing to serve in public office.
The president cannot do the job alone. He or she must inspire the country if not the world to turn off the TV, get outside into our communities and neighborhoods and do the things that must be done that will make our nation a Great Nation.
And it's not just us. We must inspire the next generation to participate. So many here on the blog have been doing just that! Thank you!
I know YOU get it. I just want to make sure that we're all on the same page. The work has only begun.
Cheers....

Or, more importantly, bring our man Obama a little luck!

They (including Hillary) wanted to sell the war and said whatever was need to sell the war.
This is a Washington textbook technique to sell lies that Clintons are so familiar with
and was part of it in the case of WMD.
Now Clinton is using the same technique to sell the case of her experience that did not exist.

Obama Family:
I know the Jeremiah Wright issue has been beaten to death, but I just want to offer what I believe is proper perspective about it.
I make no excuses for the pastor's angry and hatefilled rant. It is what it is, and that is dispicable. However, it is a personal and political rant, not a spiritual one. Mr. Wright is not Senator Obama's political advisor or guide and his political and personal views are his own, and not shared by Senator Obama.
I go to a protestant church and I can't tell you how many times my pastor will be in the middle of a sermon and then go off the beaten path onto a personal and sometimes political tirade. But you see, my pastor is who I seek for spiritual guidance, not political or personal. I seek his wisdom in the area of hermunetics and biblical exegesis, and he's excellent in that arena. In fact, my pastor leans evangelical right, so I certainly don't share many of his political or personal views. When he veers off the biblical course onto the personal opinion path, I simply dismiss it and wait patiently for him to come back to the main sermon. In other words, I eat the meat and spit out the bones!
I am saying all this to drive the point home that Senator Obama only draws from Jeremiah Wright that which is spiritually uplifting, and the senator is certainly wise enough to discern what is meat and what is bone, as evidenced by his denunciation of those hate filled comments.
To help you understand further, I encourage you to take 20 minutes or so and listen to the same Jeremiah Wright when he is clearly in his spiritual zone and see exactly what Senator Obama took away from it. It is THIS sermon that forever made a lasting impression on Senator Obama, and not the personal and political rant that the media keeps playing.
It is this spiritual zone that Senator Obama drew from, and when you hear this beautiful sermon, you will understand and know exactly why. It is what inspired Barack Obama and served as the catalyst for this entire movement.
If you don't understand the difference between that which is spiritual and that which is just personal, you will continue to be tormented by the wright issue.

Like the tortoise and the hare, Barack is quietly getting superdelegates
I think we'll see more of this
March 14 (Bloomberg) -- Barack Obama has pulled almost even with Hillary Clinton in endorsements from top elected officials and has cut into her lead among the other superdelegates she's relying on to win the Democratic presidential nomination.
Among the 313 of 796 superdelegates who are members of Congress or governors, Clinton has commitments from 103 and Obama is backed by 96, according to lists supplied by the campaigns. Fifty-three of Obama's endorsements have come since he won the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses, compared with 12 who have aligned with Clinton since then.
``That's not glacial, that is a remarkable momentum,'' Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, a superdelegate and Obama supporter, said in an interview. ``I don't think there is anything that will slow that down.''

Re the "tortoise and the hare" - but Obama is the hare (not a bad thing); he's the one who's added a net of 34 super delegates in the past 3 weeks while Clinton has added just a net 2 (she gained 6, but lost 2 who swtiched from her to to Obama, lost 1 who switched from her to uncommitteed, and her Governor lost his super delegate status). Watch more super delegates go each day to Obama for the next 10 days. Watch Richardson endorse Obama any day now. Watch Edwards publicly criticize the Clinton campaign. Her campaign is collapsing.

So reports are Michigan's party has agreed to try to do a June 3rd re-do pending the rules for fund raising our changed so private funds can be used to run it. I still feel Obama should be against this and push for the 50/50 split.
What are your opinions on this, just curious what other people think on it.

I know that there is opposition here by some to re-votes in Michigan and Florida. But I believe that those re-votes are essential to make Senator Obama the next President. Bear with me. 1) The parties in those states messed up big time. But the voters in those states did nothing wrong. Every single voter who voted wanted a change from the current government. Anything we do that has a chance of lowering enthusiastic support of our candidate in November is not good. 2) I think that some people believe that delegations from the two states will not be seated at the Convention or that the fight over seating them will go well. Trust me, a fight will go badly and will further harm our candidate in November, no matter what the outcome is. 3) I also think some oppose these re-votes because they believe that re-votes will significantly help Clinton. I have more faith in our candidate, and I have more faith in the math of all this. Re-votes in the two states might (might) result in Clinton victories, but again on a proportional basis. She won't overtake Obama in elected pledged delegates, or in the total popular vote. I also happen to think that the Clinton campaign twists this way and that because it has no real clue how to win this thing. About everything they have done has backfired. (For those of you worried about Ohio - Obama CLOSED a 17 point gap to 10 points in Ohio while Clinton was bashing him.) Let's promote the widest voting opportunity we can. Let's show we're not afraid of anything. We're not afraid of commentators, turban pictures, middle names, kitchen sinks, or any of the old politics. Let's get a great vote out for our guy in Florida and Michigan. Let's make Senator Obama the next President of the United States.

The pastor of my church, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who recently preached his last sermon and is in the process of retiring, has touched off a firestorm over the last few days. He's drawn attention as the result of some inflammatory and appalling remarks he made about our country, our politics, and my political opponents.
Let me say at the outset that I vehemently disagree and strongly condemn the statements that have been the subject of this controversy. I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue.

Because these particular statements by Rev. Wright are so contrary to my own life and beliefs, a number of people have legitimately raised questions about the nature of my relationship with Rev. Wright and my membership in the church. Let me therefore provide some context.
As I have written about in my books, I first joined Trinity United Church of Christ nearly twenty years ago. I knew Rev. Wright as someone who served this nation with honor as a United States Marine, as a respected biblical scholar, and as someone who taught or lectured at seminaries across the country, from Union Theological Seminary to the University of Chicago. He also led a diverse congregation that was and still is a pillar of the South Side and the entire city of Chicago. It's a congregation that does not merely preach social justice but acts it out each day, through ministries ranging from housing the homeless to reaching out to those with HIV/AIDS.
Most importantly, Rev. Wright preached the gospel of Jesus, a gospel on which I base my life. In other words, he has never been my political advisor; he's been my pastor. And the sermons I heard him preach always related to our obligation to love God and one another, to work on behalf of the poor, and to seek justice at every turn.
The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation. When these statements

Barack will be on Anderson Cooper tonight to discuss the J. Wright issue.
ALL SUPPORTERS:
Lets be prayerful or hopeful (not pushing religion on anyone) that Barack can decisively clear this up with some sincere passion.
This is truly a big issue.
I am an AA man and this truly disturbs me.
This sits on the throne of his judgment.
I have been to churches that have done and said some things i truly disagree with and have NEVER returned.
I hope that Barack can clarify his existing reasons for being under the cloak of leadership with J. Wright.
In J. Wrights defense he has done some marvelous stuff for inner-city and suburban areas of Chicago, but he has said some statements that have made me say W.T.H.....and I am a pretty thick skinned guy.
Barack has to put this out in a MAJOR way or I feel it will damage his chances in the remaining states.
I will say it like this:
Barack doesn't have to throw J. Wright under the bus, but he for DAMN sure is going to have to hit him with it.

Yesterday Chris Matthews broke down Ferraro statements to see if there were any facts in there.
I think and God knows I'm not race baiting, but if we break down what he said, we would agree that much of it was facts, and some was over the top like Mrs. Ferraro:
He said:
Hillary doesn't know what it is like to be a black man in America - True
Hillary has never been called a nigger - True
Our country is run by rich white people - Could be argued as true
Re: 9/11
Our country bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki - True
Funded state terrorism - True - we funded Osama Bin Laden during the cold war - we funded Saddam Hussein against Iraq
I never heard him say we deserved 9/11, he said we were surprised and we were. Many of us have not followed how our foreign policy affects us, I truly didnt until 9/11. I was shocked when I found out Osama used to be a friend, I was shocked to hear that we funded Saddam in an effort to take down Iran.
I'm not saying Pastor Wright is right, he is not, there is no place for that bitterness. But what he said wasn't actually false.
I didn't see the same type of outrage when Ron Paul said the same thing regarding our Foreign Policy and 9/11.
It seems Senator Obama is always held to a higher standard. The good part is he is a higher standard, and I am very happy to support him for that reason.

Just leave it be.
Writing the words to his sermon here is not necessary.
If we don't get past this and concentrate on PA which will be here before we know it. Then we will really have problems.
As for Ferraro that's over.
No matter how many times you write these words there is no justification for them...period.

Or, more importantly, bring our man Obama a little luck!

He needs to answer questions until people are satisfied.
He is running for president not dog catcher.
He needs to make sure people are comfortable with his answers.
I am so glad he is doing something in person not in writing.
People need to see the passion in his eyes as he responds.
He can denounce this and make it all go away.but if he is trying to play both sides (pacify Americans and not run his mentor over) i feel Americans will be left half satisfied and see thru it.

CALLING ALL WATCHDOGS!!! We need you to strike back against the Media creating an absolute FIRESTORM story over Obama's Pastor, Rev. Wright. We are starting our first all out MEDIA BLITZ against the narrative they have been playing the last day.
Don't loose sight of what they are trying to do, like everything else in the Media these days, it is their own NARRATIVE that they are creating out of this story. They're taking a page out of Clinton's playbook and playing on the OUTSIDER FEAR. "Ooo, who is Obama, we don't really know, he might not be who he says he is, he's an outsider, we can't trust him". That's what the real point of this Pastor dig up is all about!
We need to speak WITH ONE VOICE that we are AMERICAN VOTERS who refuse to cast our vote in FEAR. And we will seek to protect other voters who might otherwise get coerced into doing so because of their approach to reporting this issue.
Please see this page for more information about striking back against this:

I go to a Baptist church that says pretty much a lot of the same things that Wright says... definetly not "damning" anyone, but along the same lines of angst towards society. I read the posts on Washingtonpost.com too and it makes me sad that so many people are out of touch with the religious left/right.....
Statements about the secularism of American and it's path toward destruction are pretty commonplace. African-American churches are especially concerned about AAs empowering themselves and the way the government treats us.
Let's also put this guy into perspective. Wright is also a former US Marine.. he's a Vet! If someone asks you how you can support Obama in spite of "attending a church with "those"views for two decades.. say the following"
1. Separation of Church and State- Duh
2. Obama said he doesn't agree with everything he says. If the parents of one of the candidates said crap like this, would we expect to reject them and run them over with a bus? They are Wright's opininons NOT his.
3. Jerry Fallwell, Pastor Haggee, Rod Parsley(parents love him) and many conservative preachers have preached the same thing about America in a different perspective and Hagee supports McCain in order to bring the second coming of Christ with a war with Iran.
4. Mind you Billy Graham makes similar statements from time to time.. and guess who he supported in the 1990s?

Ok cool - Dont let the WP blogs get u down - Unfortunately one thing we have learned this week especially is that there is still a lot of " hate " everywhere and both campaigns had to deal with it . Its unfortunate but , maybe its good that it all came out for both candidates and now we can talk issues and leave religion to privacy of our people.
All religions have leaders that can get very extreme or can say or do things that blow our mind . I hope I do not get judged by my leaders - I would be in big trouble ! LOL

They would have brought it out in any case.
They went through every speeches of Rev. Wright and this is all they found.
After the dust settles down in 6 weeks, people are not going to care what an old senile pastor said.
Since Obama in behind in polls in PA now, he has little to loose at this time.
In 6 weeks, people will get tired of all these negatives without substance
and things will turn around.

Let's calm down and LET HIM HANDLE THIS.
If we trusted him with our vote then we should certainly trust him now.

They are covering the campaign heavily over there and a really rooting for him to win..

As certain politicians, and their supporters, volley around the wedge issues of race and religion in an attempt to beat back the momentum of the Obama campaign, we are not putting the focus where it needs to be in this country.
We are letting a mainstream media, which spends much of its time covering out-of-control celebrities, set the tone of our nominating process. Of course they love controversy and slime...this is what they do these days!
In the meantime.....
* Our young men and women are being injured and killed daily in Iraq, and our national treasure (billions and billions) is being spent on a war that never should have started. It is estimated that the war is costing us $275 million a day, and in the meantime.....
* Gas prices are spiraling and no one will tell us the truth about the competition for oil (and food), and that even if they go down a little bit soon, high fuel prices will continue in the years ahead, and in the meantime...
* Food prices are soaring...anyone who goes to the grocery store on a regular basis, and by that I mean at least once a week, will tell you that in some stores prices are changing daily...watch the faces of the elderly in the grocery store....they spend a long time in the staples section deciding what they can purchase (bread or milk?), and, in the meantime...
* Home prices are dropping like a lead balloon, and that back up plan we had to use our equity to help with college tuition, or to take care of our parents, or for our retirement, looks less and less likely, and in the meantime.....
* We are trying to elect a candidate who 'gets it' and will change how business is done in Washington. The other candidates are part of the problem...their years of experience have not prevented any of the problems mentioned above!
I could go on...but YOU know what we are facing. We NEED Barack Obama as President, but in the meantime, we've got to deal with pettiness, divisiveness, and selfishness.
Step aside Hillary, so we can focus on winning the general election and tackling the problems of everyday Americans!

Barack has already rejected (AND denounced) what this guy said. The comments everyone is mad about were not even said in church, much less when Barack was attending his church. It is his FORMER pastor, and Barack has clearly stated that he does not take political advice from this guy. He is sincere when he speaks about this, and is as disgusted by the comments as you are. So chill out, this is just the latest, greatest roller-coaster in the media circus, and it will all blow over soon. Ultimately, it will just give Barack a chance to once again show how genuine he is and how he will be the next President of the United States.

It reminds the public she hasn't disclosed her taxes which includes $600000 lecture fees paid by the Saudi's to Bill Clinton ( the guy who can't be trusted around young impressionable interns ), it reminds the country about global warming and need for alternative and cleaner energy source.. there is a car which can run on water alone, and it also reminds the country that Hillary cannot be trusted on the world stage because of her aggressive tones.. she's not a negotiator... she'll be in a dogfight with everyone who disagrees with point of view. At the end of the day, the Saudi's have the oil..no one told any individual country buy our oil and pay our prices. It's up to good Governments to focus on how best to forward a country and its only a lack of foresight that makes America pay so much at the gas station. That's what needs to change

However it's important to remember that these are Cable shows... the 3 broadcast networks NBC, CBS, and ABC still pull in a larger television demographic. Furthermore, had these 3 networks challenged the merits of the Bush Doctrine, I dare say many more Americans would have objected to the invasion of Iraq.

I HOPE YOU ALL SEE THIS!!!
My husband made a suggestion (and he hates politics)but he felt he needed to say this and he supports Barack.
This is just a suggestion but why not have Barack and Hillary collectively call a press conference and unite (if only for a few minutes) by stating that they are both opposed to the issue of race being injected into to this campaign. They both could denouce this kind of politics and suggest that media outlets let the canidates focus on the campaign. And that they would both like to get back to the real issues. This could do wonders for the Democratic party. (Remember this hasn't been a good week for Hillary either).
And let's face it...although most of us would not want it but, there may be a joint ticket at the end of this primary season...
This has been a hard week but I think this is a good strong suggestion.

I don't agree with everything Mr.Wright said but COME ON. He's wonderful. What a preacher. This is a part of a rich history in America.... I know no one on the blog will agree with me, but he should embrace and not reject the man... I mean he is passionate and talking to his congregation. I think a lot of people will be excited when/if they see the full clip(s) a lot of people don't know how fun a good sermon can be, if controversial.

My assertion is no.
In monitoring the blogs today, it appears that the people that were against him before are fanning the flames and wagging their finger. The people that said they were voting for him before said they know he has integrity and are still voting for him. The undecideds that have heard this news may be taken aback, but once they have read his response and heard him speak about it tonight, they will come back to neutral position. Many people stated that he cannot be judged by what a Pastor says or why aren't they judging Bush/Falwell and Hagee-Parsley/McCain. I have other thoughts on this, but that is the condensed version.

Thanks to the generosity of many who donated their valuable frequent flyer miles, we sent 28 out-of-state volunteers to Texas and Ohio, and so far have another 11 going to Pennsylvania.
It takes 25,000 miles for a ticket. So – who’s got at least 25,000 on the same airline which they’d like to donate toward making sure Barack Obama is our next President?
Step right up — I’m getting requests almost daily from volunteers who want to help but can’t afford the airfare. Donate now, please, so we can get these people on the ground where they’re most needed. We have to win Pennsylvania!
(Unfortunately, it’s not proving practical to combine accounts from several people to make up that 25,000 because too many airlines and transfer fees are involved.)
Please call me at 714-536-6104 California time. (Don’t reply on the blogs; I probably won’t see your response.)

I'm in a great mood right now. The whole Hillary Experience thing is out the window. I heard on KO's show that Orin Hatch says she had nothing do with the S-chip. Her whole campaign has been built around this particular issue. Beginning of this week we found out that

Leon Panetta, Bill Clinton's White House chief of staff, and Sandy Berger, Bill Clinton's national security adviser, both said that Hillary Clinton wasn't privy to the president's daily intelligence brief, nor did she sit in on National Security Council meetings. I think the media should be asking Hillary what she has done.
Also, comedian Sinbad said...

Harrowing? Not that Sinbad recalls. He just remembers it being a USO tour to buck up the troops amid a much worse situation than he had imagined between the Bosnians and Serbs.
In an interview with the Sleuth Monday, he said the "scariest" part of the trip was wondering where he'd eat next. "I think the only 'red-phone' moment was: 'Do we eat here or at the next place.'"
Clinton, during a late December campaign appearance in Iowa, described a hair-raising corkscrew landing in war-torn Bosnia, a trip she took with her then-teenage daughter, Chelsea

Hi,DR. BP
Today news: Nancy Pelosi said few very interesting points.
1: NO to BO/HRC, no to HRC/BO ticket.
2: We need strong VP with experience, they both lack that. Eight years of experience is not enough!
3: It is not the popular vote rather delegate counts that matter. That is the way it is set up according to her.
The way she said it; it appeared to me that she favours Obama and She might be referring to Mr. Gore as a VP as mentor as a unifying force as healer of the democratic party and at the same time silence and neutralize the Clinton dream; and derailed the Clinton machine. May be I am reading too much. But this my gut feeling.
Obama will do well with his promise under the guidance of Mr. Gore, Mr. Gore does not need status he has achieved more than many Presidents could desire, his call for the nation and not for the prestige but for the saving a wounded, harmed nation by Bush and Cheney. This way he can take a sweet revenge against Bush as well as against Clinton. Bill Clinton destroyed his candidacy by his scandalous rich second term.
No way Hillary can win the general election without AA supports and she can not handle McCain in foreign Policy debate nor can match his experience.
I have a tremendous respect and high regards for Nancy, self-made Woman and highely respected and she comes out honest and sweet. I liked her, I liked her smile and her demeaner. I am a senior democrat myself, has voted 9 general election.

Or, more importantly, bring our man Obama a little luck!

Even though delegates may change their minds from precinct to county to state to national, HRC is robocalling Iowa delegates trying to find out who supports HRC.
Here is the text of the phone message and the updated text:
UPDATE, 7:12 p.m.: Here's a more detailed description of the call from another Obama delegate:
"This is the Hillary Clinton campaign. We are calling you because you are a delegate or an alternate to the county convention." (Some 30-45 seconds of talking points). "If you are supporting Hillary Clinton at the county convention, press 1." I listened to the last question and did not press 1. The same question was repeated two more times. At no time was there an option to press for any other candidate.
According to someone who would know, the Clinton campaign had concerns about the accuracy of the delegates that were identified, so they robocalled all the listed delegates to ensure that everyone knew about the convention.
That explanation is totally reasonable, especially in light of the "press 1" option. But from the description of the call--especially the 30-45 seconds of talking points, which have nothing to do with ID'ing supporters--it seems like the whole thing could work another way, too. Keep track of how many delegates you have and, by getting your message out, maybe pick up a few. If this is "delegate poaching"--which, I remind you, is totally legit--it's the mildest, most passive form imaginable. Stay tuned to see if these "identification with benefits" robocalls reappear in the run-up to the convention.
Here is the full story.

I have to say that I think, this issue is really bad for the campaign, but I am glad it has happened now and not in November. Remember, as our man has said, change wont come easy. In my heart, I believe that the preacher's comments were deplorable and Sen Obama should come out and been more forceful sooner. But who could have expected this to blow out like this. I think he has shown that he loves his country and he clearly does not believe what the pastor said, but I also think he just wanted this thing to go away and it never did. Anyway, let's keep going and elect this great man the next president.

When all was said and done they blamed John Kerry for the loss rather than themselves. It would have taken only a handful of these people to elect Kerry.
If you want Obama to be elected president, REGISTER TO VOTE. If you know anyone like the above people mentioned, drag them to the registrar of voters if need be and drive them to their polling place on election day. Now I have to constantly explain that choosing Obama over Clinton is not based on gender.
I believe the vast majority of Hillary supporters will vote for Obama in November. If we agree with 70-80% of the same things than we are all on the same side when all is said and done.

Up until yesterday/today, I was one of Hillary Clinton's staunchest supporters. I guess in ways I still am.
However, I am now supporting Barack Obama. I wasn't sure before today if the guy was real, but after listening to several, several of his pastor's speeches yesterday and today, there is no way that going to this church for 20 years does not make Barack Obama a for real person. I am disappointed, though, that the right wingers got Dr. Jeremiah Wright to quit Barack's campaign. The truth makes some people very uncomfortable. As Hillary said, "Let's get real!!!" I don't know how much 'realer' you can get than the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright.
Also, I still do like the Clintons. This was a very difficult choice. I wish we could somehow end up with an Obama/Clinton ticket, but according to Nancy Pelosi, this is not possible. We can still keep our fingers crossed. Maybe I'll send Dr. Wright a check to say a prayer for this to happen. Some type of Divine Intervention. :-)
P.S. I was just laughing and laughing and laughing watching Barack being interviewed on Fox News by some guy named Major about this whole Dr. Wright situation. You need to watch this if you can, it is just hysterical. This Fox News guy was badgering Barack with these questions, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam...it was as if Barack was on the witness stand for committing murder. Finally after answering several very obnoxious and pointed questions in a row, Barack cracked a big smile, Barack knew exactly what this guy was trying to do to him. It was very funny. Those Fox News people are as bad as those MSNBC people. Neither network is very objective. One skewed way to the right, one skewed way to the left.

I have lived in central PA seven and half years before moving to MI, and have some understanding who PA people are. They are slow to respond, and do not change mind easilty whether their thinking is right or wrong.
Do you think a couple of weeks are enough to catch up THE people's mind or does your camp expect its result similar to that in OH whatever you do? You might know the story of how PA governor Ed Rendell could be elected from a status of a true underdog.
My original candidate is gone; but, I can not see an opportunis, instead of Obama, to become this country's next president, and make us suffer another four years similar to that under Bush.

Morning from UK!
I think Rev Wright is probably one example of what Barack is trying to change about America. And he probably thought this when he listened to some of his sermons. He's an example of the hurt and disunity that needs to be healed.
I'm sure there are many examples out there, Falwell comes to mind.
When you see this sort of stuff close hand, and work on the streets of Chicago, and witness how politics tries to divide people, and see how people hurt, it must be a real incentive to want to go out there, run for president, and try and repair the divisions of the past.
I think what Barack is saying is people are tired of being angry, that the new generations want to move away from the Wright and Falwell anger and show them a different way.
All IMO of course (-:

I run a blog that compiles pretty much every major news article and commentary that comes out each day about Senator Obama. My hope is that it's a useful tool for those who want to keep up with everything going on in the campaign. I also contribute my own commentary as well.
I hope this is helpful to everyone.

I hope Obama continues to bring home the message of unity in this country. We are sick of these divisive politics. Enough already.......

Barack Obama has issued a firm denial to a report that he was in church when his controversial pastor delivered an anti-white sermon in Chicago last July.
Further doubt was cast Monday on the story as records showed the Democratic presidential contender was in Miami that day.
On the “fact check” portion of Obama’s campaign Web site, the campaign states: “Fact: Obama Did Not Attend Services on July 22.”
Click here to see the denial on Obama’s Web site.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. delivered the controversial sermon on July 22. Reports have circulated that Obama was in attendance, but a copy of Obama’s schedule viewed by FOX News as well as video of Obama speaking appear to place him in Miami that day at a convention of the National Council of La Raza.
And a National Council of La Raza official recalls Obama arriving on time for a 1:30 p.m. event that day that was part of the group’s annual national convention.
