Will you make a donation to help me honor US Service Men and Woman, reach my goal, and add to the momentum of "our" campaign?
My goal ($2195) centers on my husband and the brave men and women of the US Armed Services. I'd like 100 people to donate $21.95 in honor of a member of the United States Armed Services. Additionally, I'd like to compose a list of all the brave men and women honored by your donations. Please send me the name of the US Service man or woman that you’d like to honor.
I am extremely hopeful that this goal will be met by midnight---only $785 left.

We're only $9,000 away from donating the full $100,000 we were challenged with by Stephen Colbert. What a great tax-deductible way to show our support of our candidate. And Pennsylvania schools and students benefit!

Please email "The View" and thank them for having the amazing Sen. Obama [ loved the interview] on the show and to pl. invite the wonderful Michelle Obama-Would Be First Lady to be a guest on their show!
[They have misquoted Michelle again and again. There's a BIG difference between "first time I feel really REALLY proud..."--which is what she said--and saying "first time I feel proud..." Fox and some channels actually EDITED OUT HER WORD "REALLY" and ran the video -- you can probably find comps on youtube.
That one word changes the whole meaning of what she said -- and I'm sick of seeing it out of context and spreading a sentiment she did not convey!]
Link
Barbara Walters told Mr. Obama he was “sexy-looking.” Sherri Shepherd announced that she had shifted her support from Mrs. Clinton to Mr. Obama; she made Joy Behar temporarily switch seats with her during a break so she could chat up the candidate. Even Elisabeth Hasselbeck, a Republican, told Mr. Obama how moved she was by his speech to the 2004 Democratic convention.
Whoopi Goldberg did not gush as much, but her final words could not have been much comfort to Mr. Obama’s Democratic rival. At the sign off, Ms. Goldberg offered the Republican nominee equal time on the show, saying, “John McCain, we’d still like to talk to you, too.” Ms. Behar prompted her, adding, “And Hillary.” Ms. Goldberg did not appear chagrined by her oversight. “Everybody,” she said.
The talk show is neither totally serious nor completely frivolous, but it is an estrogen-intense zone. For a male guest, the hardest part is navigating the diverse and somewhat prickly personalities who sit on either side.
Mr. Obama, who has run the gamut of news shows in recent weeks to defuse the ado over his relationship with Mr. Wright, had no trouble finding longwinded words to demarcate his allegiance to his longtime pastor. “Had the Reverend not retired and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws,” he said, “then I wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying there at the church.
Mr. Obama is an effective speaker, but he is just as smooth at wordless communication: he mixed a cool and somewhat princely demeanor with warm smiles and touches.

To everyone:
If I offended or annoyed you by my repeated posts (concerning my personal fundraising efforts) this morning, I sincerely apologize. While I thought I’d have a lot of time for the campaign last week since we’re on Spring Break, I barely had time to log on. I had anticipated logging on, making posts and phone calls, and reaching my fundraising goal. That didn’t happen. Since I finally had time for the campaign (withdrawal symptoms from last week), I became very enthusiastic. Again, I apologize for offending or annoying anyone.

******Action Alert*****
BACK TO BACK FOR DOUBLE IMPACT
NATIONAL RALLIES APRIL 12TH & APRIL 19TH
Respond Now!!!!
No time in history have so many people felt the need to stand to be heard. Hope, change and inspiration has moved a nation.
Barack Obama has moved not only the Spirits of our nation, but has impacted the world. He has inspired and birthed a movement of change filled with hope and inspiration and a YES WE CAN spirit.
What are we doing?
News Watchdog Service and The Nation for Change heeded the call to organize a massive effort by the people building an army of hundreds of volunteers to achieve a seemingly impossible feat. A National Rally not just one weekend but two weekends back to back for a double impact, jump starting and driving the momentum of change as we scream for our voices to be heard in support of our candidate Barack Obama.
The Double Impact National Rallies are strategically scheduled for April 12th before the debate on April 16th, and then again on April 19th before the primary in Pennsylvania on the 22nd.
April 12th “One Voice for Change Across America” Rallies will include major metropolitan cities New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta. April 19th “Nation for Change” Rallies will include Phoenix, Denver, and Oakland, CA – and many many more cities on both dates.
Both rallies are a movement by the people and we need you!!!
What you can do?
1. Be a part of this historic double-impact event. You voice counts, stand up and be heard, come join us on April 12th and April 19th at a location in your area.
2. Spread the word – Forward this Action Alert to all your family and friends and other Obama supporters. Help get the word out. Email, send text messages, make phone calls, word-of-mouth.
3. Organize an event in your city – organizers will provide you with the guidance you need.
4. Volunteer your heart, your time and your services to this explosive opportunity to push Barack Obama over the top.

I am extremely hopeful that this goal will be met by midnight---only $760 left.

Voters in Indiana only have one more week -- until April 7th -- to register. Please make calls!
I personally try to set aside an hour each evening to make calls because that is when most people are home. Twice, when I was calling this weekend, I spoke with people who were already registered, but they had family members who were not, and I was able to get several people registered with one call!

Don't be discouraged. Even a wrong number is not a waste of time because it helps us weed the bad numbers out of our calling lists. That way, we can be more targeted in our calls for the general. Hang in there.
And as for the deceased person you called -- it has happened to all of us. Just very politely apologize, offer your condolences, and quickly get off the phone.

Its a bunch of bull. It is so easy for the other campaign (which I think he's in the bag for Clinton to talk about popular vote) to try to divide it up that way. Barack's name wasn't on the ballot. This is a race for President of the United States, not President of the student council. These people are idiots.

Sounds wacky to me.
I think they should just split the delegates 50/50 and apply the "counts as half" rule the Republicans used for Florida and Michigan. Not that anyone is consulting me LOL
Frankly, I think the Republicans took a more sensible approach to penalizing the two states.

They must have been smoking some weird stuff to come up with that! Our candidate's name is "Barack Obama", not "Uncommitted"!
Sure, I'm ticked off that my own state (Florida) and Michigan broke the rules. There was plenty of time to rethink the primary date. Did we take action? No. Why weren't we screaming "We don't want to be left out!"
Folks in FL and MI chose not to get involved at the time. We didn't take it seriously. Well, these are the consequences. We were told the delegates wouldn't be seated. We were told that the primaries in FL and MI boiled down to nothing but a beauty contest.
Changing the rules at this point in the game would show a lack of consistency and integrity with respect to the Democratic Party.
Them's the rules and we gotta abide by them. We ALL gotta abide by them.

Chuck Todd is suggesting that, assuming the current delegate lead is essentially the same by May 4/5, Obama could then be magnanamous and say to Clinton, in effect, "take all the delegates you think you won in Florida and Michigan". They could be seated and he would still have the lead in both pledged delgates and the popular vote.
This sounds like a wonderful solution to me. What will the Clinton camp say at that point? "No, we don't want them because they don't do us any good"? "No, we want to figure out some other way to get more because this isn't enough"?
This would defuse the entire situation, give these two states a voice at the convention and not change the fact that Barack Obama will be our next POTUS!!

This going around the mulberry bush is becoming a sad state of affairs. There was no thought to the ramifications when these state leaders concocted this move last year, and decided to follow through even after the threat of consequences. What poor role models they make.
And it seems contradictory, that they are concerned the voters will be disenfranchised if their votes don't count, when there are many voters who refrained from voting, because they knew their votes wouldn't count. I guess they don't count in the disenfranchised math, now that there is no hope of a redo.
If Florida and Michigan weren't being used as a strategy to get something undeserving, it wouldn't appear such a disingenuous maneuver. No one wants voters to be disenfranchised. This was an ugly high stakes gamble to begin with, leaders bet their houses (states) and lose. This is a bitter pill to swallow. I think voters need to take a good look at these leaders and consider whether they deserve to be reelected come election time.
Something should be done, but I think these state leaders lost the right to decided what that solution should be.

Hi I read in one of the accounts of this rally (sorry, didn't make a note of which, don't have a link) that the crowd seemed quieter and not as boisterous as a typical Obama rally.
I just want to say I think that is a GOOD SIGN because it suggests there were lots of undecideds there wanting to check Barack out -- it wasn't a sea of already committed supporters who were delignted to see BHO but frankly aren't the people we most need to win over.
Contact with BHO is the best cure for indecision -- and a quieter crowd also means the undecideds wouldn't be put off by this stereotype of fainting college kids (not true, but you know what I mean!)
Just my 2 cents here.
P.S. I just started a fundraiser page after a month of exclusively donating to the pages of otehrs. Feel free to stop by and be the SECOND donor! And thanks much to Tracy who was my FIRST.

Shivering in blankets of Penn State's colors, some 20,000 people filled a campus lawn Sunday to hear Barack Obama say he can win the Democratic nomination even if rival Hillary Rodham Clinton stays in the race.
...Obama's rally drew an estimated 20,000 to 22,000 people, according to university official Richard DiEugenio-by far the biggest in a weekend of smaller, face-to-face campaign stops since Obama launched a six-day bus tour through the state on Friday.

She especially talked about how people from this area have been so impacted by 9/11 and just the constant gloom and doom reports (orange alert, red alert, is it safe to ride the train, etc.) She said it is time for all of us to have someone to believe in and whether she is optimistic or not for the future, for sure she wants a leader who is. The unfairnes of the proposal is laughable. Let's hold ourselves to a higher standard in fairness than our adversaries.
While this is a hijack of the post to some degree, it's also the same topic.. fairness.
We really need Obama to stop using the '100 year' sound bite from McCain, because it mischaracterizes his position.
We can win this thing, and the GE without compromising our ethics and we do that by insisting on fairness.. in the seating of FL/MI, to Clinton and the media mischaracterizing "typical white woman", to Obama mischaracterizing the "100 years" remark of McCain.
We can be better.

The proposal for the seating of the Michigan delegates is totally unfar. First of all, Obama was not even on the ballot. A division of the votes cast for Hillary are invalid since the only other category was uncommitted.
I can see seating the delegates on a 50/50 basis or on the delegate or popular vote. But their proposal is totally tilted towards HRC.

Question hopemongers. Isn't it true that imitation is the highest form of flattery?
If so, then why is that Dumbya, I think you know who I'm referring to, keeps stealing Barack's ideas? Examples, you ask.
1. How bout the strike in Afghanistan? McSame and HRC said his idea was crazy until Dubya did it. Nothing else was said...
2. Regulation is needed to oversee the financial institutions. I think Barack brought this up right after his outstanding speech on race relations....
I'm sensing some trickery, am I the only one?

I just donated more money to the campaign.... not because Sen. Clinton may raise more in March, nope not enough of an incentive.
I was more inspired by the Bob Johnsons and Susie Tompkins of the world who had the AUDACITY to write a letter to the DNC threatening to withhold their BIG GIVES because Speaker Pelosi dared to voice, what I believe to be, a just opinion about the Super Delegates hijacking the Democratic Process. Yep... I'm inspired to show that THE STATUS QUO deep pockets in the body politic are no longer the "shot callers" and We, the People are FIRED UP and READY TO GO!!!
Please give, they (MSM) are going to use this to resurrect the Johnsons and Tompkins of the world ability to influence campaigns if Sen. Obama doesn't have a banner month of March.

Well Family, this will be the new FIRST DOG!!!!! Wouldn't it be wonderful if that dog was from a shelter. Formerly homeless and it had been saved by the Obama family.
Wouldn't that send a message. The Obama family leads by example. I imagine it would make people think twice about buying a dog and checking out a shelter or rescue instead. Imagine all the lives saved.
Can we vision for that!!!!! We know Barack IS going to win this race so lets vision for that first official family photo with their new dog.

The sound is unmistakable. Run your thumbnail across a hard plastic comb with fine teeth. If you hear the “comb call” when you are outdoors, you know that some of your amphibian neighbors are gathering together by the hundreds in small ponds and wet places. The Western Chorus Frog, Pseudacris triseriata, is tiny, to be sure – about 2 to 4 cm. (¾ to 1 ½”) long, but its spring call can be heard from quite a distance. There are different kinds of chorus frogs that may call your neighborhood home.
Spring took another step forward today. Why not take one yourself? Step outside and find a sign of spring. Even in the most paved neighborhoods, CHANGE is on its way!

This campaign should never agree to any type of split where she gets the majority of the delegates. Obama wasn't on the ballot and the people were encouraged on the grassroots level to vote other because everyone knew HRC was going to twist the results to benefit her. She would have taken 100-0 vote and called it legal.

This is coming from the article on Politico isn't it? It may be a planned victim ploy or may not (regardless she'll certainly use it that way) but it's also a reflection of economic policy. There are a large number of small businesses in OH and other states that are not getting paid by the Clinton campaign. These people have worked hard, their businesses are small and they can't afford deadbeats.
HRC is the person who wants to fix our economic problems and she can't handle her own house? She's willing to let small businesses in middle America suffer so she can get what she wants. It's an example of the real Hillary. I think the public needs to know. Politico quoted a number of people who had voted for her and now they regret it. You can bet they're telling friends and wished they could tell people in PA and IN before it's too late.
The story is on Politico

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I really don't think we should by hyping this up. They have lots of friends with deep pockets. In fact, I think I read today that she'd gotten new support from a wealthy Arkansan. This is politics; they need to whip up their base.
Why would they vow to take it to the convention and then publically announce they were out of money? Doesn't make any sense.

They just showed a bit of Clinton's round table on CNN a little while ago and she said that she doesn't like to just give good speeches but likes to have discussions with people because you learn more when you listen to people..."it's a novel idea", is what she said. So I take it that she is insinuating something here...whatever BUT what realy got me is she turns to her notes and asks specific people questions that they have and even describes their situation as an introduction for them to speak. Everything is staged, Barack doesn't know what questions are going to come at him when he has his town hall meetings.

Yes, you read that right:
the campaign that insists on health care mandates for all adults is now not paying its premiums because it can't afford it

Andrea - President Obama Supporter
Mar 31st 2008 at 3:25 pm EDT
Published in the New York Post on March 26, 2008.
Bill Clinton made a significant admission in Corpus Christi, Texas in March - saying he had decided to pardon Puerto Rican terrorists back in 1999 “based on the stuff I was given by the staff.”
But Ron Kolb, the citizen whose questioning prompted the ex-president’s comment, rightly pointed out that the FBI and Justice Department had opposed the pardons. The clear conclusion is that it was Clinton’s political staff who pushed for clemency - with the obvious goal of helping Hillary Clinton’s bid to become a New York senator.
Bill still denies that was his motive, of course - but no one believes it. The lobbying by Hispanic politicians from New York on the issue had been years-long; the culmination was noted by the New Republic noted back in ‘99: “Two days before the president announced the clemency deal, New York City Councilman Jose Rivera personally presented Hillary with a packet on clemency, including a letter asking her to ’speak to the president and ask him to consider granting executive clemency’ to the prisoners.”
The FALN, a terrorist group devoted to independence for Puerto Rico, bombed the Fraunces Tavern here in New York City in 1975, killing four and injuring 54 others.
It also:
* Bombed five other downtown New York buildings in 1974.
* Booby trapped a building in Manhattan and then called the police, seriously injuring and partially blinding an officer.
* Exploded two bombs in Chicago’s Loop in 1975.
* Bombed the Merchandise Mart in Chicago in 1977.
* Bombed a Mobil Oil office in New York, killing one person, in 1977.
* Bombed two Chicago military recruiting offices in 1979.
* Injured three police officers in New York bombings in 1982.
Even in those pre-9/11 days, pardoning terrorists who weren’t even remorseful drew public outrage; candidate Hillary soon wound up condemning Bill’s decision.
But when it comes to politics, they really are a team - Hillary’s administration would be staffed from the same pool that Bill drew upon.
The same team that freed hardened terrorists to win political markers for Hillary - the same team that’s now willing to tear the Democratic Party apart in its desperate bid to steal the nomination for Hillary - would once again be empowered to free the guilty and endanger the innocent, whenever it suited their political needs.

Currently I live with my mother and have no transportation. I have a wonderful 5 year old son. When prayers go up, blessings come down. I will be doing that for you today. Right now, hope is what you have to hold on to. Hope is what will get you through today and forever more. The bible says, "Faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain." Now you say, "Mountain, get out of my way". Hold on and hold out because tomorrow is a new day. Even when times are rough and trying.......remember God is in charge. "The battle is not mine, its the Lord's". That's what you say when you pray. And leave it there. Continue to the great mother you are to you son and let the Lord deal with the rest.
May God bless and keep you in his loving arms. :)

2:25pm by Phillip - We had a little hiccup with an update, but we're all set again. As you should notice, we know have 70% of counties reporting. I was able to track down about 20-25 additional small counties over the last hour or so (check the county-by-county spreadsheet for the latest updates). Surprisingly, though Clinton did have some good numbers, Obama also won some, too. The only thing is that even a 4-3 or 12-9 win for Obama in these smaller counties is lesser than a 56-44% win, which is keeping him in the 55% threshhold and thus --- as we reported earlier --- is still likely to lead to a 37-30 delegate split when we have all the numbers in.
But at 93%, we're getting pretty close -- so a delegate win looks pretty solid for Obama. I'll add that I tried to verify some numbers out of Bexar County, but they won't be releasing those until Friday...so we have to go with what we got until then

Yes, SaSa it is a biting analysis, but the following excerpt is especially telling about the divisivness and lack of presidential character of Barack’s opponent.
Link
Excerpt:
And yet, in the middle of the flaps over her truthfulness, her campaign went after Obama over the supposedly false claim that Obama was a University professor. In claiming he was merely a "lecturer" (it turns out he's been a Senior Lecturer, which equates to professorship), they actually used the phrase "details matter."
Gotta give 'em credit for nerve, if nothing else. A candidate who's been padding her resume since the get-go, with the willing cooperation of the media she claims is an enemy, now says that "details matter." And we're not talking about the harmless fibs all candidates tell -- that she's named after Sir Edmund Hillary or that Barack's parents met at the Selma march -- but tall tales that make more of her claims of experience than are reasonable.
Details matter.

PA Schools
The Stephen Colbert / Obama challenge to benefit Pennsylvania schools and children is still running. A week ago we reached the original $66,000.00 goal. It was raised to $100,000.00 after we smashed through $66K level and Colbert had the week off and the show was in re-runs.
I donated again last night and continue to believe this a wonderful opportunity to show Pennsylvania how much Barack and his supporters care about their children’s academic needs. Much of the money will go to kids who are challenged in various ways.
Right now we are within $9,200.00 of reaching the $100K goal in Barack’s name. I believe this is the sort of thing that both Barack and his late mother would support (in my humble opinion). On one day alone last weekend we managed to donate nearly $14,000.00
Please make a contribution of any size in Barack’s name. If we all work together we can reach the challenge target before Colbert tapes his show today at about 6:00 P.M. EDT. I will donate as generously as I am able one more time today.

According to the drudgereport.com Howard Wolfsen says that Hillary's campaign finances look good.
However, he makes a lot of contradictory statements. In addition, I am tired of Hillary blaming the Obama campaign and everybody else on the reason she hasn't nailed her nomination.
Why doesn't she look to the mirror for her answer to losing?

FOX has done the fairest job…says Gov. Rendell
Link
---see video
Ed Rendell, by way of Michael Calderone at the Politico:
"I think during this entire primary coverage, starting in Iowa and up to the present -- FOX has done the fairest job, and remained the most objective of all the cable networks. You hate both of our candidates. No, I’m only kidding. But you actually have done a very balanced job of reporting the news, and some of the other stations are just caught up with Senator Obama, who is a great guy, but Senator Obama can do no wrong, and Senator Clinton can do no right.”
So, if I read this correctly, Fox News Democrat Rendell is endorsing objective reporting like the bogus Fox story that Obama was educated in a madrassa in Indonesia, because it wasn't Hillary bashing. Even one of Fox's star reporters blasted Fox's lack of "objectivity" on Obama recently.
Since FNC's also been critical of Clinton lately, is Rendell calling them "objective" because they run biased stories bashing BOTH Democratic candidates?
This goes beyond the current Clinton-Obama wars. Rendell -- in winning elections by the dint of his own personal popularity (and good for him) -- has remained willfully ignorant about the broader truths of American politics in Fox News era, even as he ran the DNC while the media obilterated Al Gore in 2000.
In November, it's all but certain that a) Obama will be the Democrats' nominee b) he'll need Pa. to get elected and c) Fox News will be Obama's worst enemy. Democrats should be thrilled that Rendell has just granted them full immunity.

Had a wonderful & inspiring day yesterday, and thought I'd share - being a part of this campaign has been such fun - and have met so many inspirational people. Here the recap of our day:
It was a wild day here in Davidson - pun intented. Yesterday, we began the afternoon doing Voter Registration at NorthLake Mall - 5 of us met, with kids in tow, and began to Barack the Vote. Over an hour & a half, we managed to get 34 new voters registered (our groups second location at a local coffee shop, got another 5). Then we literally ran to our cars to reach the Lake Norman for Obama meeting, where our grassroots leader, Vicki, registered local volunteers for about 8 areas & trained team leaders for each area. Volunteers then signed up for local planned Voter Registration events from now to April 11th. We got one more new voter at the meeting - FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF 40 NEW VOTERS IN ONE DAY! Not bad for a first time group - it was so easy & everyone was very nice & responsive. Many people thanked us.
Then we cut the meeting a little short, and flew down the highway (obeying all posted speed limits :))to the Davidson College Student Union to watch our very own DAVIDSON WILDCATS compete in the Elite 8 - and compete they did! We are so proud of them. Just an amazing Cinderella team. Thanks to this great team and coach for an unbelievable season. And the Davidson College Student for Obama - so well organized - thanks for all your hard work too!

Should female voters in PA ignore Democratic Superwomen? Can any woman who supports Democratic party ignore the following women? American heroines. Heroines of Democratic party. Who are they?
Janet Napolitano
Claire McCaskill
Kathleen Sebelius
Amy Klobuchar
Caroline Kennedy
At this stage, Nancy Pelosi can not take sides for obvious reasons but it is believed that she leans towards above mentioned heroines.
For sake of Democratic Party, female voters in PA should see Clinton off on primary day.
Let those heroines get on the bus in order to talk to Pennsylvanians please.

I just donated another 50.00 to campaign. I give because I know Obama is the best candidate we have had ever. I am growing weary of this primary season however.. The money we now donate is to keep Hillary at bay. It is like keeping a crazy relative at bay for fear they might take over the family. I know everyone in Penn., Indiana, etc. wants to vote and it is fun having all the fanfare associated with a primary in your state, but I wish the money I was donating was going to the general election. I live in Michigan and I would rather give up my primary vote than continue this money draining primary.

Yes, our donations are supporting the nominating process instead of the general election.
However, with all the awesome rallies in all these states; it is giving Senator Obama the visibility and hands-on that will be so helpful in the general. The people he is inspiring will have time to spread the word in their localities so we can have a strong foothold for the general in November.
That's my feeling anyway - and as the supporter base grows, this campaign will have multiplied the donor base to fund the general.

Mar 31st 2008 at 6:16 pm EDT
Thanks to the generosity of many who donated their valuable frequent flyer miles, we sent 28 out-of-state volunteers to Texas and Ohio, and so far have another 21 going to Pennsylvania.
This means ***1,225,000 MILES*** have been donated to date!!!
DONORS: It takes 25,000 miles for a ticket. So – who’s got at least 25,000 on the same airline which they’d like to donate toward making sure Barack Obama is our next President?
Step right up — I’m getting requests almost daily from volunteers who want to help but can’t afford the airfare. Donate now, please, so we can get these people on the ground where they’re most needed. We have to work harder in PA!
VOLUNTEERS: If you want to spend a week or more in PA, but can’t afford to pay your own way, contact me and I’ll try to match you with an airline ticket.
Please call me at 714-536-6104 California time. (Don’t reply on the blogs; I probably won’t see your response.)

If race is not an issue, why does Sen obama always feel he has to qualify that he was raised by a single mom, with a white woman? It seems to me that he is trying to get "white votes" with this statement. Race to me is not an issue, and I never ask what color are/was your parents. This statement makes my skin crawl. He would get more women votes if he stops at "single mom". What does white woman have to do with his up bringing?
