DeathWatch is down to 9.6%, and here is an excellent quote from the attached Slate article:
"On Saturday, Clinton compared the race to a basketball game: "You know, we are in the fourth quarter and it is a close contest. We are running up and down. We are taking shots." The metaphor would work if she mentioned that Obama is up by 124 points, he has the ball, and Clinton has been missing shots all quarter. All she has now is hustle."

actually, the new Gallup poll says it's at 8 points, but still, that's pretty awesome. We've been doing well over the past week.
And the word from Ben Smith of Politico is that Obama tends to do worse in polls at the beginning of the week, and better at the end of the week.

I think the campaign should find a way to compile our comments. I have the hardest time finding a post after I have written it. I think the webmaster should just compile our comments so they can be accessed from our dashboard. I know this can be done because John Edwards did it on his site.

No Christine, unless I'm missing something that's not true - it's nearly impossible to find old postings (the "find" function only works if the word is on the same page, but since there's a zillion comments pages, one can't find one's old comments unless one is on the actual page where the comment is).
BLOGMEISTERS: Can't you make the list of postings on the Dashboard linked to the actual postings??
BLOGMEISTERS: ALL these comments on all these blogs comprise a GOLDMINE of information that should be more easily searchable!
And P.S. Thanks for all the hard work you've already done! You guys are amazing!

Obama family,
Poll numbers are not a reliable measure of the work our campaign is doing, what's great is the many first time visitors to the website stopping by to get to know our candidate and where he stands on the issues in the wake of great super delegate news from MN and this Road for Change in PA, so brace yourselves!
Remember,
Persuade and earn.
PERSUADE AND EARN.
Speak to Barack's character, integrity, honesty, position on issues, ability to draw bi-partisan support, rejection of an agenda set by lobbyists/PAC'S, change from divisive DC politics, establish a new direction for foreign policy etc.
If you welcome all people of any age, gender, race, ethnicity, faith/religion, party affiliation or presidential campaign asking sincere questions about Barack, his candidacy and clarification on his positions on the issues because questions are the only way we can get informed, gain knowledge and get educated.

If you reject visitors who abuse, use insults or pejorative talk, or false and misleading statements passed as fact, or veiled distortion in a bid to attack and deride Barack or his supporters (such visitors are aka trolls).

Will you make a donation to help me honor US Service Men and Woman, reach my goal, and add to the momentum of "our" campaign?
My goal ($2195) centers on my husband and the brave men and women of the US Armed Services. I'd like 100 people to donate $21.95 in honor of a member of the United States Armed Services. Additionally, I'd like to compose a list of all the brave men and women honored by your donations. Please send me the name of the US Service man or woman that you’d like to honor.
Even though we have less than one hour before the deadline, I am still extremely hopeful that this goal will be met---only $634 left.

Through an "event", I am seeking the support of Massachusetts 5th Congressional District residents as I pursue election as a District Delegate for Senator Barack Obama in a strongly Clinton-held district. The event link is:
Link
Delegates will be elected at caucuses being held on Saturday, April 5th, 2008. If you reside in the Massachusetts 5th Congressional District (you live in one of the towns listed below), and would be willing to support my candidacy, I would be most grateful if you would sign-up for this event and attend the 5th Congressional District DNC Delegate Caucus for Senator Barack Obama beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 5th at:
Tewksbury High School (in the Auditorium)
320 Pleasant St.
Tewksbury, MA 01876-2799
I am eager to be a delegate for Senator Barack Obama because he offers an approach to governing that is both totally inclusive and relies upon us, as Americans, to work with our government and each other. His speeches are punctuated by the use of the term “we”, as in his trademark declaration "Yes We Can!”. In Senator Obama we have a leader who not only personifies the concept of a “servant leader”, but also encourages each of us (and really expects us) to find that same kind of person inside ourselves.
Many thanks for your support and I look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

You can look at it like this (and I didn't take into consideration the states that are left--considering that they're not exactly the biggest states this is even worse for her). Just a little bit of math and I came up with this:
HRC: 70
BHO: 80
5 minutes left in the game
HRC record: 14-30
BHO record: 30-14
And we've got home court!

O.K. Hillary It's the fourth quarter but you forgot to mention the score and the fact that there are only seconds left in the game. A game that you can't win with lies that has your opponent standing at the free throw line sinking basket after basket with assist from your bench of miscues. Despite the media's rhetoric that you still have some sort of chance of winning this game, mathmatically there is no way to overcome Obama's lead. The game has been over since Texas and Ohio voted and the only reason why you are still on the court is due to a NAFTA lie that the media helped you with. Florida and Michigan are out of it due to their own fault and as you know the rules of the game cannot be changed, especially towards the end of the game. You can say that you have been fouled by Obama, the media, and the skeletons in your closet but the reality is that you must first know a thing or two about sportmanship and honesty.

I'll tell you how long Hillary will stay in the race ... until
-- everyone is dead and she has enough breath to take one last look at the score;
-- until she convinces the entire universe that the sky is green and the grass is blue;
-- until some serious health problem occurs (God forbid);
-- until hell freezes over
Why?
She is a 5-headed Scorpion - they do everything to the death, even if those 5 stingers swipe them in the process and everyone crashes & burns. Honestly, this is not all joke - Scorpions do everything to the death ... like the Black Knight of the Holy Grail ... even under the ground they will still try to reach out and fight. Like the story of the frog & the scorpion - even their supporters will get poisoned.
Why?
It's their nature.

This is a good analysis of the basketball analogy. Experts have said that Hillary's chances of winning are around 5%. Would a sane person undergo an operation if the doctor said you only had a 5% chance of surviving it? To me, this speaks to her lack of judgement! Being the "first woman president" is not a life or death issue. There are a lot of things she could be 1st in, like VP. Unfortunately, she has little chance of pulling off that one, either!

The ACT and SAT are comparable college entrance exams. Unlike SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), ACT is not officially an acronym; however, the original name of the company that produces the ACT was American College Testing Program, Inc. and seems the likely source of the name.

ACT originally stood for "American College Testing," but now like ATT or IBM it is just ACT (an alternative to the SAT).
Also "America Coming Together" was the largest 527 group in the country in 2004 with almost 100 offices and tens of thousands of paid and unpaid workers oriented mostly to get out the vote.
I hope to be writing more "on topic" messages about the campaign in Philadelphia and two nearby suburbs. As in most other places, I'm sure, we have a lot of activities outside the "official" campaign among progressive political groups, Philly for Change and Neighborhood Networks and by the campaigns of local candidates.

Obama wins most Texas delegates |
Report to Admin
By
James Brown.....Proudly Voted For President Obama !
Mar 31st 2008 at 9:23 pm EDT
Mon Mar 31, 3:58 PM ET
WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama has won the overall delegate race in Texas thanks to a strong showing in Democratic county conventions this past weekend.
Obama picked up seven of nine outstanding delegates, giving him a total of 99 Texas delegates to the party's national convention this summer. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton won the other two, giving her a total of 94 Texas delegates, according to an analysis of returns by The Associated Press.
Texas Democrats held both a presidential primary and caucus. Clinton narrowly won the popular vote in the state's primary March 4, earning her 65 national convention delegates to Obama's 61.
Precinct caucuses began immediately after polls closed primary night and quickly devolved into chaos in many parts of the state because of an unprecedented turnout of more than 1 million Democrats. The state party was never able to provide complete results from the caucuses, which is why the AP withheld nine delegates.
The precinct caucuses elected delegates to about 280 county and state senate district conventions on Saturday. The AP awarded the remaining delegates based on results from Saturday's conventions, showing Obama with about 58 percent of vote, compared to 42 percent for Clinton.
Obama won 38 delegates through the caucus/convention system, and Clinton won 29.
The final delegate allocation will be decided at the party's state convention June 6-7, and the numbers could change if either campaign is unable to maintain the level of support they had over the weekend.
Obama leads the overall race for the Democratic nomination with 1,631 delegates, including separately chosen party and elected officials known as superdelegates. Clinton has 1,501, according to the latest AP tally.

Camille, Biden is another Senator, so that won't go. Also, he's a part of the Inside-the-Beltway incestuous political milieu.
I'm wanting someone outside, probable a governor, i.e. someone with
executive experience at a high political level.
Richardson would be my first choice because of that, but also because of his various backgrounds including diplomatic affairs at the UN and his various international trips.
I hope BO will get out of that tired old political trap of "balancing with a foreign policy running mate". Unless, of coursae, foreign policy is re-designated as diplomatic affairs as opposed to military affairs.

I'm afraid I'm not with you.
Biden's problems:
[1] lackluster campaigner
[2] like most senators -- Obama's an exception -- he talks too much. That is: his signal to snooze ratio is low.
[3] Doesn't bring in folks who might not otherwise vote for Obama
Sen. Biden's a great Senator. But he wouldn't make a good running mate for BHO.

Interesting take on Edwards....
Since then, Obama's obviously become the favorite to win the Democratic nomination, which has changed Edwards's calculus. The risk is no longer endorsing a guy who may lose. (At least in the primaries.) It's that you won't get credit for helping Obama win. Endorsing Obama at this point would basically mean jumping on a bandwagon, and there's no percentage in that. So I'm guessing Edwards is biding his time until there's a moment when his endorsement would matter--for example, when it could help bump Hillary from the race. (Say, after a loss in the North Carolina primary.)
For what it's worth, I do agree with Heilemann that the problem for Democrats who want the primary over soon is that there just isn't anyone out there with the stature or credibility to tell Hillary to quit. That is, except for her own supporters. Which, as Heilemann says, could be the ones who ultimately nudge her aside.

Excuse me if I am being negative. I have had a really bad day today. But do we have a chance to win in PA? Is there something happening there that is not being reported?
According to the newest polls reported on CNN and MSNBC, we are 12 points down. Is it less than that? Are there some white males who are thinking about checking out Obama?
BTW, in NC, there is almost a virtual tie for the youth vote. We cannot let that go b/c then it will translate into them digging into our base.
We need to win in a major way in NC and IN.
What can we do besides call and donate?

I share your sentiment. I was watching him the other day feeling fooled, and betrayed by him. I did not know he would fight to the death for the Clintons, I just thought he was a real man of the people. This is why I always have to remind myself that Obama is a Politician.

This is a perfect example of why everyone should do a gut check now and then. It's easy to lose objectivity and start trading in hypocrisy. The hardest thing is to really KNOW yourself. Carville has evidently lost himself.
Barack has shown that he is capable of periodic self examination - and if he forgets we can be sure Michelle will remind him!

You were fooled. Democrats have made careers out of painting themselves as "champions of the people". I've had my fill of the dems since about 2001-- when they started spreading a lot of lies I couldn't ignore, having been paying close attention since '92 or so.
Barack is the only thing that pulls me out of independent-land, until he becomes president at least-- then I can go back to dissociating myself from the DNC.
Republicans aren't the problem, political parties are the problem, if you think one side is better than the other, you're only getting half of the facts.
And that's why I support Obama-- I honestly feel that he is the first free-thinking Dem or Rep who has had a real shot at anything in a very long time. Not to mention, he's the first politician to communicate the issues so well as to actually cause me to rethink my own thinking, and that is exactly what we need as a leader.
Obama/Hagel - that would be unstoppable!!!

I think it would be a huge mistake to vote for McCain should Hillary should Hillary find a way to manipulate this nomination process. I also think it would be hypocritical for us to vote for her based on party loyalty. Her character and the baggage that shadow the Clintons are not representative of what we need in a leader. Anyone who would vote for her based on party loyalty should really think hard on this one. This campaign should not be based on party, but rather character and leadership (two qualities she can never acquire). With all that said, I remain confident that Barack will be the nominee and our next president.

That woman has no shame. She will say and do anything. Do you think she will be honest, trustworthy and loyal to Barack? No way! The only person she is loyal to is herself! (Oh sorry, and Bill)
She and Bill's baggage is too much to attach to the ticket, he will not be able to take the country to another level with her dragging the ticket down.

On a side note, I was musing today that Hillary supporters may be going through the first stages of grief right now, which may explain their anger. The anger is somewhat misplaced considering that it has been Clinton's missteps that have caused her approval ratings to drop.
The stages are:
Denial: "It can't be happening."
Anger: "Why me? It's not fair."
Bargaining: "Just let me live to see my children graduate."
Depression: "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"
Acceptance: "It's going to be OK."

I am not voting for Obama because he is a Democrat--I am supporting him because of what he stands for. I don't agree with anything HRC stands for. I have a motto in my life--I will not reward bad behavior. I apply this motto in all areas of my life--in my relationship with Ted, raising our daughter, my work environment and my relationships with my friends--really everyone. Now--sometimes applying this moto is not easy. Often times it would be easier to ignore and move on---but I can't ever seem to let the moment pass me by--the consequence of my actions and other actions are always apparent to me--I have to hold the person accountable. So here is my thoughts on this: I won't support Hillary because for me it would be rewarding bad behavior. I can't live with the consequences of this bad decision. I will vote for Nadar. I will want to be apart of the message that I won't stand for status quo--I won't continue to be apart of the US issues in the political arena. If the Democrats let this moment slip by---the consequence is that they lose me forever and I will throw myself behind the Independent party.

I hear you, meta. But since it's not just riling up the blog, but to be sent on to the DNC, I'll play.
Some seriously sketchy stuff would have to happen for that to be the outcome of this primary season. Stuff that would probably be sufficient in itself to not vote for her. But playing along with the hypothetical, and further stretching credulity by allowing for the possibility that she won it fair and square . . .
If Barack asked that we vote for her, I would listen to what he had to say. And if other good leaders did the same, I would listen to what they had to say. But I honestly cannot imagine them saying anything so convincing that I would be moved to overcome my absolute rejection of her approach to politics and government, my feelings of complete betrayal as I witnessed her exploit our nation's deepest wounds in order to scare up votes, my utter conviction that she represents so much of what is wrong with our country and our politics today.
I can answer unequivocally that I would never vote for McCain. And I honestly don't see how anyone who supports Barack could, though I know many good people would. McCain represents Bush's 3rd term. He may be an honorable person, but he stands for virtually everything I believe this campaign to be fighting against. The only argument that I could envision holding any merit for voting for HRC, should all these hypotheticals come to pass, is that she would presumably be the best bet of stopping McCain.
Only thing is, though, I don't think she is much different from McCain. Like him, she's far too cavalier when it comes to war. Not only would she continue failed policies in Iraq, but she would be all too willing to start new failures in Iran and who knows where else. Like McCain and Bush, she favors the wealthy over regular folks, corporations over citizens. I might agree with her more on issues concerning women's rights and education, but the fact of the matter is I trust her even less than I trust McCain. So both McCain and HRC are utterly unacceptable options for me. If those were my only two "official" options, I would write in Barack.
What a nightmare! Let's keep working our everythings off so that doesn't happen!

The only way she gets the nomination is if she steals it. If that happens no way in HELL will I reward her with a vote.
The country deserves a president who leads with impecable judgement, character and integrity. Clinton has no of those.

I am with Lisa. I would hate to vote for Clinton, but as a lawyer, I would think about the effect on the judiciary and the Supreme Court and I would like HRC's nominees better than McCain's--I also think she would get us out of Iraq sooner than McCain (I saw Stop-Loss over the weekend--what a powerful movie!). In 2000 I wrote a piece for my Green Party Friends about why they should support Gore over Nader--again it was the courts. I would have to think of all of the lifetime appointments the next president will make, and I would vote for Hillary.

1. How someone runs their campaign is an indicator as to how they would run the country. (see my blog)
2. H. Clinton has shown again and again she has trouble maintaining contact with reality -- a very dangerous trait in a President.
I would then spend the next four years working to defeat every superdelegate who supported her and helping every one who supported Barack. I would join with others to do this.

If HRC gets the nod, we've got to swallow the nasty pill with a bit of sugar, and push her a$$ to do the hard work that Barack would have done for us and our country! First, I think the party realizes what an uproar that would create. There would be riots in the streets never before seen. Just think about it. Can you just imagine what that would do to the AA community and the young votes, who first the first time in history are coming out in thousands? It's not going to happen. I am ashamed at anyone who would allow that to happen and more so to anyone who would vote for her with your noses plugged just because you don't want McCain. When these races first started I would have voted for either candidate. The truth is this is because being a long time democrat, I've many times voted against a Republican rather than for a candidiate. For the first time in my voting life I would be able to vote FOR a candidate I believe in. After the 3 a.m. ad and the shame on you and the lies and whatever, I have no clue how I could live with myself. I am heartbroken to think that all my years of "Get Out The Vote" work would be summed up on my staying home if she were the nominee. I cannot stand her tactics, I am not sure I could hold my nose and vote for her anyway. I just don't think I could stay home and end up with a man who is making serious arguments for not only staying in Iraq but going into Iran as well. How have any of your lives been in the past 7+ years? I don't think it would be much better with HRC, but it surely couldn't be as bad as another Bush term in McCain. It can't happen!!! NO!~ It isn't just what is happening in our nation, its how the world sees us. I can't imagine what the terrorists would do if we actually voted in another Bush term. I pledged that if it were Hillary I would try to start over and reassess both her and McCain... but I long ago abandoned my intention to try and convince my Republican husband to vote for her, and I think he might be quite successful bringing me over to McCain. Here are two articles that he directed me to today, which are appalling. My husband and my sister were very involved in helping a Bosnian refugee who lost her husband, her unborn baby, two brothers and one of her arms in Sarajevo tell her story to the world and publish it it a book. If Hitchen's story is correct, Hillary is partly responsible.

Second one is about the absolutely cynical race strategy deployed in this campaign.
McCain, for all his faults, has a moral compass. Hillary seems to be prone to romantic war fantasies, like a 14-year-old boy, and coupled with no moral center this worries me even more than McCain's quest for "victory".

McCain is a loose cannon & he associates with people in his campaign who actually support war against both.

She felt pity for the snake, so she picked it up and placed it in her bosom to warm it up.
When the snake thawed out, it Bit her!
The woman, in horror, turned to the snake and with her dying breath, asked the snake,
"Why did you bite me? I saved your life."
The snake responded, before slithering away,
"You knew what I was when you picked me up".
I already know who HRC really is. The way she's run her campaign is, in my opinion, the way she'd run the White House.

Of Course, I have no doubt that I will not be forced into that choice because Senator Obama will be inaugurated on January 20, 2009. This is the finest political movement of my lifetime.
For a refresher of what this campaign is about start with his announcement speech on Feb 12, 2007. Then watch NEw Hampshire & South Carolina, finish it off with his speech at MLK's church.
That will rouse the spirits and end any worry of choosing between McOld and Hillary.

The Clinton's motto of 'anything goes' for this campaign shows that they really don't understand what the American people need or want after eight years of the Bush administration.
I think some of us are tired of being divided. I think that we have had enough of politicians who believe in 'anything goes' 'kitchen-sink' politics. The Clintons want to 'fight' and seem to believe that it is fun and necessary for a political campaign. It's not fun. It is old - and as we all have seen - the Clinton's 'style' hasn't gotten us very far, has it?
Hillary failed to prepare for the contest because she apparently believed that she would win before the contest even got started. She obviously does not believe that she can compete or win without the help of her husband and they are running two-for-one against Mr. Obama. She looks weak and dependent as an individual and as a candidate - and their 'two-fer' campaign attacks - have been unfair from the beginning.
It is sad that she did not know that she could do this - on her own. Our next president - must be able to stand - alone - when he or she - is expected to make a decision. She does not seem to have any confidence - in her own abilities - that is, in her ability to accomplish anything - without her husband. If she did - she would have left Bill - at home - and campaigned for this nomination - by herself.
No - to the idea of voting for any individual who is so out of touch with what this country needs after Bush and after 9/11. 'More of the same' - won't help us now.
No - to electing a president who had anything to do with starting the war in Iraq.
No - to the idea of voting for Hillary - even if Mr. Obama asked me to do it. As an American and as a woman - I could not vote for her.

I'm such a chicken and dislike reading or watching the MSM stuff as it is so National Inquirer like...
so...can someone tell me ---since I don't go to those websites or turn on the telly**...
Did CNN or MSNBC report about the TEXAS DELEGATE WIN for Obama --either online or on the "tee vee"?
**actually that's not entirely true. I'm half watching the Twins/Angels game as I'm reading the blog. Twins are up 3-2 :)

I just got home from the Twins game. Left early with the ridiculous amount of snow we got here in Mpls. Its awful and it was 50 yesterday! Ugh! But those new boys for the Twins are looking pretty good. The game was sold out, place was packed and we are supposed only be a 500 team this year. Gotta love these Minnesota fans. It started snowing early this morning and hasn't stopped all day, but those fans all came out. Very cool. And Torii who left us for the Angels got a standing O when he got up to bat, of course, we were all clapping on his out too! :)

I was watching MSNBC today, and what were they doing? They were showing Barack over and over rolling a gutterball ... and laughing about it! Can you believe this? What do you think they said? "What a great guy, he has the courage to get out there and try something new, that he's not really good at ..." NOT! They said, "Mr. Obama should NOT be doing something he has no skill at, he should have played basketball instead!"
Give me a break here! Never try something new, even if there ARE a million people watching? I though it took great courage for Obama to get out there on the lanes KNOWING darn well he was going to struggle with it. I notice he is left handed? Did I see that correctly? They even went so far as to say, "I'll bet Hillary could beat him at bowling." And then they said, "What do you think would draw a greater audience, a debate or Hillary vs Obama in a bowling match?"
I am a bowler myself, and Barack's form is pretty good. He just has to learn how the pendulum works and he will be throwing strikes in no time! He could easily apply his basketball skills to bowling, believe it or not there are similarities.
Thanks. :-)

Totally agree. This is what is so sad about media coverage in this country, I don't care if someone can bowl, I don't care if they can suck up wings and chug beers at a sports bar, I don't care if someone kissed a baby today.
I care about ethics and character. That's it, end of story.
It's to feed this stupid 'who would you rather have a beer with' concept the media came up with last 2 elections, and, look what THAT got us, a moron...
Is THAT what you want?

We're electing a commander in chief, not a bowler in chief.
After January 20, he'll have time to practice in the White House bowling alley.

Yes, we all should keep in mind that all candidates do these light hearted appearances and it does settle the negative rhetoric down. I believe the hillary camp and the surrogates are just upset that they do not have the money to travel around and to mingle with the every class of our society. Obama has all the tools needed for this race and history and the experts have commentated on these tools in all of the presidential races but all of a sudden they are acting like the fact that Obama stopped at a bowling alley, bar, and farm/barn, and has the money to do so is all of a sudden unfair. Obama knows when to spend and when to tighten up and he knows that Pennsylvania is a reason to spend.
Hopefully his spending wisely will continue especially after the March donations are reported.

DaveJ, are you good at everything your try? We are not all blessed to be good at bowling. My husband's average is 289 and let me tell you, he became that good after years of bowling in many leagues. I bowled as well, but my average was 151. Now I was not even close to his skills, but my form was much better, soooooooo I looked GOOD!!!!
Not everyone is meant to be a great bowler and that's not the requirement for becoming the next US President. I think he was having fun and that's really what matters, wouldn't you agree?

The whole point was to get on the ground and meet some people and come to wear the people live that whats important to him.
He is real and did not have to work up snipper fire to feel that he has he capable of being viewd as the next POTUS.

Well, I think the bigger point is, if he didn't "roll up his sleeves" in some way in PA, they would accuse him of alienating the white collar folks again. No matter which way that went he would have some spin on his efforts in PA. I think he's doing the right thing. I wish he'd go to a factory and wear some jeans and talk to those workers about what change he is going to bring to them. He started out working with people just like them and I think he should emphasize that. Having said all this though, I think his campaign managers are the best I've ever seen so I feel no real concern over whatever decisions they are making.

I agree this is good for him. the media cannot be trusted to predict whats going to be happen. Remember they were the same ones crowning Hillary as the presumptive nominee and when she didnt win Iowa they ditched her, and started acting like they were being fair all along.
Obamas lack of bowling skills highlights his down to earth-ness. Im sure he knew he couldnt bowl, but he still did it. He is willing to take on challenges even during campaign. He shows he can make fun of himself and this kind of thing brings him down to earth with the regular guy. He looks real. People relate to real.

I agree with you, Leo. I think it's great that Barack went bowling even if he's not yet good at it, for many of the reasons you mentioned. Besides, maybe I spend too much time with the 5 and under crowd, but I thought the purpose was to have fun and maybe even learn something. Looked to me like he was having fun. And very few of us would have the courage to do anything we weren't skilled at in front of all those cameras, when we're running for national office.
I missed all the hullabaloo, as I don't watch MSM, and the only take I had on it was the blog. What you describe is more of the reason I don't watch MSM.

I mean, I don't know if he paints or plays a musical instrument, but he is a scholar, writer, orator, statesman, and a bit of an athlete as the images in this video show. I think it was all ib good fun. He needed to lighten up the PA race a bit. Sometimes in order to get attention you have to have people look at you with new eyes. He will do something that is American. Drink a beer. That's what people in PA might want to see. That is apparently what happened in Iowa. They got to know him as a person, then they started listening.

Like Jedimaster says below me, the crowd was really excited, especially when Barack finally came out! Seeing him live is such an incredible experience, but talking to the other people there was really cool too.
While waiting in line I spoke with a man who has lived in Bethlehem his entire life, he is 78 years old and has been canvassing Bethlehem in support of Barack. He said he's only had one negative response (from a Republican). He also told me about his 1o year old grandson who has researched and decided all on his own that he is an Obama fan. The grandson even bought Obama bumper stickers online. I really enjoyed the story and I hope that when his grandson finally gets to vote, Barack Obama will have turned our country in the right direction!

I was at the Muhlenburg College rally in Allentown, PA today.
It was a all day drizzle while waiting outside for over an hour toget in, but that didn't dampen our spirits. After going through metal detectors and searches, we entered into the Memrial hall/gymnasium of Muhlenburg College. The crowd was about 4,000+ and was full of energy. While the crowd was waiting (Barack was about 45 mins. late on stage) we chanted and got a good 'wave' going around a few times.
When Barack finally got on stage the crowd was so energized and loud. It was awesome!
Barack's speech was the 'stump', but he tweaked it a little with new phrases and comments. The crowd was so accepting and welcoming, full of students, babies, white, black, brown, old, young,....all little pieces of America.
I have seen Barack many times on TV, live feeds, and Youtube...but there is NOTHING like seeing him live on stage!
