This is such a great cause and fun to watch it grow. I donated this morning and my fund (calculators for public urban school girls) was only 5% funded. Now it is fully funded. There are plenty of wonderful projects left. We are ahead of Hillary but we still have a ways to go to cross the finish line!

I love it, too! I've donated 3 times and love watching all of the projects get funded in Barack's name! We are only $17,000+ away from completely funding ALL of the projects! That's so exciting! A total Win-Win situation!!! Thank so much to all who have donated and for those of you who haven't, please consider this wonderful initiative for Pennsylvania's children!

Senator McCain keeps telling us that he is the only one qualified to lead this country “in a post-9/11 world.” They all keep using “post 9/11,” and they describe the threat of Islam fundamentalist extremism as a “new” threat that the Democrats don’t understand.
And yet, Senator Obama seems to be the only one who understands that this is not a new threat, that the world has always been a dangerous place and most assuredly always will be.
McCain talks about the “post 9/11” world as if the exact same people never tried to bomb the exact same buildings in 1993, as if the exact same people didn’t blow up embassies in Africa and didn’t attack the USS Cole.
And he talks about the modern threat of terrorism as if there is something unique about the idea of scaring people. For a supposed military expert, he seems to have forgotten about the Baader-Meinhof Gang, the Red Brigade, Sendero Luminoso, or ETA. From the assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand to Kristallnacht ("Night of Broken Glass"), if this past century shares one trait with all previous ones, it is that terrorism has been used by those without legitimate power as a means to their ends.
McCain doesn’t get this. To him, the world was static during the Cold War years, and then erupted into chaos when the world was left with only one superpower. To him, Al Qaeda arrived on the scene and in its present form on Sept 11th, and any resemblance to those whom we funded and armed when they were fighting the Soviets is merely an illusion.
Sen. Obama is the only one who seems to get that the world is and always has been full of potential threats, and to treat only one as the most significant means to leave yourself open to yet another attack on an unprotected flank. Only 46 years old and with no military experience, and he’s the only one who gets it.

Chad I think what you do not understand is that this was not the typical message of the church. First of all this Pastor did not give the sermon every Sunday nor did he give this hateful speech every time he gave a sermon. Second of all just like there is political rhetoric given to rally certain people this was the same technique used by this minister. We all know that Barack Obama does not believe this behavior. We should be happy that he was honest with us and asked us not to loose sight of the real issues.
Race has been used to divide us so that we do not come together and solve problems that we can only solve together. The pastor has no relevance in the issues that we are facing. Obama is the only one that will get us out of war sensibly and the only one that understands the importance of an education so that we can all enjoy the American dream.

Why is there so much coverage of Jeremiah Wright and his association with Obama and so little coverage of McCain and his association with John Hagee whose endorsement he sought so he could court the votes from fundamentalists. Hagee is racist, homophobic, anti-catholic, and hell-bent on invading Iran. He claims Katrina was the judgement of God. He is dangerous.
Jeremiah Wright has been misquoted and his sermons have been spliced and diced in order to distort his message and undermine Barack Obama.

You have nailed it down! Obama, with a vision broader than any of the Washington "Insiders" is actually the ONLY one with the insight and historical perspective to know that we didn't just enter the age of terrorism. Nor will we be able to defeat it with guns blazing at every threatening saber-rattler.
John McCain is truly to be commended for his service, and especially sympathized for his years as a P.O.W. But today he is a national disgrace. He can't even verbalize a correct statement about the parties in Iraq. And we are supposed to believe he is well versed on securtiy matters? I wouldn't trust him gaurding my sons piggy-bank let alone the nations borders.
It is all too apparent that the Alzheimer's is setting in.

Also make sure to mention it is not to discredit the people speaking, but to point to a double standard. I believe we live in a country where it is ok to disagree, but I think this is more tear Obama down than critical news reporting.
Also, we could spam wolf blitzers in box with this.

Hi Chad,
Being a Christian obligates him to love people and I think he is following his call. It's not always easy to do when we are in such a divisive community, but I think he is doing a very good job. He is w/ a church that does great things for the community. Pastor Wright is just one person. Pastor Wright sounds like that probably because he has some anger issues ... and maybe there's a reason behind those anger. If we walk away everytime we hear something upsetting, then we will not learn much and understand much. In staying, we learn about the source of these anger, and perhaps find better ways to deal w/ them and actually help them. I have no issue w/ him standing by pastor Wright. Barack Obama stays because he wants to solve problems, leave this world in a better place, not running away from it.

You can learn much more about Reverend Wright if you watch the entire sermons. For example, the 9/11 sermon that contains "chickens come home to roost" is less than ten minutes long, and can be found here:

It's worth learning more than the nasty soundbites present.

I think you really need to go back and read all that the pastor said. To be perfectly honest I think Obama was a little harsh with his criticism of Rev. Wright. I know he had to distance himself from Wright because the media just kept replaying the worst of the worst with out any context. The silver lining to it all is Barack's magnificent speech on race last Tues.

I agree. On Easter morning , TV1 aired a complete sermon of Rev. Wright. It was on race, politics, and religion. It presented a fair and balance image of him. Rev. Wright's ministry has become collateral damage in Obama’s bid for the presidency. His character has been maligned.
I want stations to air complete sermons of Rev. Wright. I would like for them to have a theologian affiliated with a historical black school of theology such as Howard University to comment on his sermons. Also I would like for them to have someone from the his denomination to speak on his ministry.

Rick Sanchez just did a piece about Rev Wright and ran the comments with a larger part of the sermons. He asked for viewers to email their opinions as to whether - taken in context - Rev Wright's comments were less offensive. I know we all want this story to die, but if we let them know that we want them to report WHOLE stories and actual news they may stop reporting on this nonsense. I saw a profile on McCane a week or two ago and learned he graduated 3rd from the bottom of his class in his naval academy. Doesn't this sound familiar? Except I think Bush was a "C" student and McCane a "C-" or "D" student. Having said all that, I do honor what McCane did as a member of the US military, and also highly respect how he immediately denounced that Wacko for repeadedly using Sen. This is a great idea, a grassroots approach to funding our schools. I wish California hadn't already voted, our schools are being killed by the terminators budget cuts.
We could design an online, grassroots, Save Our Schools program that helps struggling schools. Hey how about instead of Home Improvement we could have a School Improvement reality show.
I think our schools are in trouble. I really am worried about how schools in Oakland, Richmond and LA are going to survive this budget crunch.
The people in PA are lucky to have all of you supporting them. I'd donate but I am a teacher and you know how that goes.

I am 53 and grew up watching Walter Cronkite and David Brinkley. They would be appalled at the near total lack of journalistic integrity in today's MSM. The idea that you are expected to pass judgement on another human being based on a 30 second soundbite or grainy video is not only irresponsible but downright dangerous. This kind of fearmongering appeals to that kook fringe of our society that want nothing more than to hurt others. Character assassination is exactly what it is and should not be tolerated in any kind of civil society.

I agree with Julia W. The way I see it the mainstream media (MSM) caried out a public lynching of Reverand Wright just so they could try to defeat Barack Obama, or at least keep the race between he and Hillary Clinton going a lot longer for their ratings.
If you watch the Reverend's sermons of the 5-10 minutes leading up to the incendiary statements the reaction you will get is totally different. Mine was. But no, they just took some comments out of context to help them topple Barack.
Not this time!
Not this time!
I speak this as a white, 43 year old, father of two.
Hillary Clinton? Please! She can't even win a campaign by keeping it clean. Every time she or her surrogates open their mouth to say something to disparage Obama it's another lie.
John McCain? Please! He jokes about bombing Iran. He says we should stay in Iraq for 100 years, all this while not rolling back the Bush tax cuts for the richest Americans (who do not even need these tax cuts)! He can't even get straight who the Iranians are training Al Qeada or Shiite extremeists, or some other group. Every other day McCain seems like he is having another Senior moment (no offense to seniors).
I know McCain is an American hero due to his service, but Commander in Chief? Is he the best that the Republican Party can offer? Please! You ahve got to be kidding me. McCain next to Obama in any debate in the coming Fall? It will be no contest. It's all Barack.
Barack Obama is the best. May he beat all these others who are doing their utmost to defeat him. The MSM, the Republican Right. Pat Buchanan, the Clintons, that Governor Rendel from PA. How could PA vote for a guy like Rendel who comes off as so, I do not even have a word for it. Yeach!
There is truly a lot of ignorance out there. May Barack Obama and this campaign somehow triumph over it all.
Go Barack Obama!

Rev. Wright's ministry has become collateral damage in Obama’s bid for the presidency. His character has been maligned. I have a brother-in-law who voted for Bush in the last election. He attends an interracial mega- church. He is no bleeding heart liberal, but he agrees with me. He has heard Rev. Wright preach at Rankin Chapel at Howard University and has purchased his tapes. He agrees that the hatchet job has been done on his character and his message has been distorted. Rev. Wright has become a victim in a drive by shooting.

After AP reporter Nedra Pickler wrote a news story highlighting how some fringe Republican operatives were raising questions about Sen. Barack Obama's patriotism, angry readers dispatched nearly 15,000 electronic letters protesting the piece. Why? Because instead of providing balance and context, which is what good journalism does, the article simply offered a platform for Obama's opponents to roll out their smears, to broadcast their dark doubts about the senator's character

Yes, true. Spamming is not a good way. But, we do need to get the message out. It is so infuriating how the media covers things. And the main reason I think they won't touch Clinton's real chances of winning, the Wright issue still being played and discussed and double standards, is because doing it the way they do makes for better ratings, and really, isn't them making a buck more important? (Not!) Why in the world would they want this to end?

What happened in your life to make you feel hatred toward people of other races? I believe that you can change negative feelings that you grew up with. People hold on to them out of ignorance and fear, but if you take some time... not over night, to look inside, you too can realize that Blacks, Latinos, women, gays etc. don't want to take anything from you.
If you are serious... I hear fear in your words not anger or hatred. Stop being afraid that "blacks" are trying to take over this country.
You live in Kentucky. Talk with some people you already might have met. Tell them that you don't want to be offensive, but you have some questions. Ask people who are different from you about their own community and when they talk LISTEN and share from your heart.
Obama is no more the anti-Christ than he is Jesus. He is just a visionary candidate that wants to take this country into a new direction by trying to actually GET THINGS DONE IN WASHINGTON.
Just follow the issues, instead of looking for good reasons not to vote for a candidate who happens to be black (and white).
Have a nice night. There is not time for hatred. I've got some more living to do.

EVERYONE A MUST READ
After AP reporter Nedra Pickler wrote a news story highlighting how some fringe Republican operatives were raising questions about Sen. Barack Obama's patriotism, angry readers dispatched nearly 15,000 electronic letters protesting the piece. Why? Because instead of providing balance and context, which is what good journalism does, the article simply offered a platform for Obama's opponents to roll out their smears, to broadcast their dark doubts about the senator's character

I think the first ad "Opportunity" is a great ad and it shows Senator Obama road, families and work for the middle class.
I also would like to suggest if I may to the senator that the same way he did a great speech on race, economy and war, he needs to do a great speech for the middle class.
He needs to talk to those middle class people in Pensylvania who do not believe in him.
I believe even though Hillary said she is unbeatable in PA we still can change the dynamic of that PA primary.
We have the time for us and we can do that.
So please everyone, write to ask the senator to have a speech on the middle class and have only middle class attend the event.

hi, I found this statement on the Hillary blog this am. :
'"Senator Obama talks about voter participation while actively disenfranchising millions'".
Unbelievably, it seems Camp Hillary is really going to attempt to get some mileage on this gross misinformation.
Can we keep the Obama position very strong and very visible that he would like to see Mich and Florida vote, but it is party rules and state legislatures who are in control of this issue resolution? Many people who only listen to ad sound bites are going to become vested in hillary's attempt to inflame rhetoric suggesting Barack has ability to allow those states delegates to be seated.

I think Obama needs to some ads on his patriotism. He should talk about how his grandfather told him stories of WWII and to salute the flag and sign the anthem in and ad. He should talk about what he believes true patriotism is and why he thinks it is something you wear in your heart and in your service rather than on you lapel. He should talk about how the pin wearing had become associated with hypocrisy and that is why he stopped wearing it.

But Mr. Obama doesn't need the while kitchen sink. He's wielding a Wustof hollow edge, ice hardened santoku of truth.
We'll let them rummage through the drawers trying to whip something up, and we'll stick to facts, honesty, and straight-from-the-heart integrity. It might not work each and every time, but it's going to work in the long run.
(Sorry for the cheap shot, Mr. Penn, but really, if Hollywood ever gets its act together and produces the film version of "Confederacy of Dunces," all you need is the hunter's cap and you're a shoe-in.)

perhaps we should call the clinton campaign what it really is.. the Clinton campaign has labled it the "kitchen sink" perhaps our surrogates should say, that's not a kitchen sink at all.. the dirt they are tossing is more of a "toilet bowl" strategy.
I laughed when i read the reference.. and it would send a slightly uncomfortable message that will ring true with a lot of people in PA.

He has challenged us, the American people, to rise above the discord of racial prejudice and division and to begin the dialogue that will one day lead to a truly unified people.
Moreover, Barack Obama once again instilled in us the desire to Hope, but also to recognize that this is more than a movement of hope.
This is a movement of understanding, an understanding that a better America, the America of our dreams, can only be achieved through the application of ethical and moral conduct, through the acceptance of our diversity and a willingness to use that diversity for the improvement of us all.

Like the Democrats who are learning that what the Republicans have said about Hilary is true we conservatives/Republicans are also getting an enlightening of what conservative talk show hosts/channels are not truthful.
These talk show hosts called themselves right, persecuted with being the minority in the media, religious and good --- not true at all. I will never seem them in the same light anymore than the Democrats who will not see the Clintons in the same light.
Rush Limbaugh is the phony the Dems have been saying he was. He is mean, nasty, and thinks his vicious attacks are funny. I will never see him in the same light. But hey it's important to know the truth and who the real people that care about America are.
I think it's also important to note people who have done the right thing: people like Condi Rice who apologized to Obama, or McCain when he fired someone on his staff for promoting Wright video, or when Bush fired the people who went into Obama's passport info.

Working Class Families Speech |

By
Delphine from Snellville, GA
Mar 24th 2008 at 11:05 am EDT
As I was requesting the Senator to do it for the past week, Senator Clinton is now about to give a speech on working class families in PA.
She once again will try to get those blue collar voters and destroy our campaign.
We have her husband once again attacking our candidate
We had James Carville insulting Gov. Richardson and calling him Judas.
But Gov. Richardson was strong to point out that the CLINTON think they are entitled to the presidency and no one else can fight for it.
It is an outrage what the media helps to do and what the CLINTON are doing.
Senator OBAMA needs to deliver a great speech to those blue collar workers as well.
PLEASE Tell the Senator to have a major speech to attrack those families after all he is coming from that same environment and he can related to them.
We need a SPEECH ON THE ECONOMY with direct link to BLUE COLLARS VOTERS.
PLEASE. We cannot live this area to Hillary and her camp.
I am reading the Audacity of Hope now and it is very interesting. It gives you insights about how the game is being played in Washington and it is incredible.
Everyone should read it. I ahve also bought Dreams of my father and 2 others books. We learn more by reading than by washing TV.
Unfortunatelly, today's culture is more about media without substance than real issues and dbats to inform tha American people.
I have also heard the Rev Wright speech yesterday and saw a lady on CNN after they said that 4,000 US soldiers have died in Irak and at least 80,000.00 to one hundred thousand irakis have died, 2 millions have been displaced and 2,5 millions are running away.
The lady who is a republican with a radio show did not like the British journalist to tell the truth.
The media is lying to the American people and they do not want to admit that what has been done in Irak is horrible and bad for the US image.
Conservative radio just want to keep on hiding the truth to the American people and this is just outrageous.
They are ready to criticize Rev. Wright and blame all that on Senator Obama but they do not want to admit the truth and we as Americans are buying into that.
Thank you

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said today that the people around Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton practice "gutter" politics and that they feel entitled to the presidency, a day after an informal adviser to her campaign compared Richardson to Judas for endorsing Sen. Barack Obama.

Carville really threw Richardson a softball with that quip. It gives Richardson a chance to hit it out of the park with his reasons to endorse Barack and distance himself from the Clinton campaign every time it comes up.
We should send Carville some cookies.

They sound more and more like the far right of the most right-winger. They regurgitate any and everything the craziest of the right-wingers say. They are ready to sell the entire party for absolutely nothing. I hope the wool comes off their heads come the general election because it will be beyond pathetic. These people are sorry. They are threating to vote for senile McCain, the same candidate the republicans are unwilling to vote for. Maybe they'd be the only ones voting for McCain. I have a good friend who lives in eastern PA and she'd love to get out there and support Obama but she and others she knows are waiting for him to show up. There's nothing on his released schedule.
Obama's numbers always shoot up once he starts touring a state. I hope he will go to PA very soon, or at least announce his plans to go there.

Hi Obama family-
I'm very sad to tell you that one of Senator Obama's Iowa county delegates died in a car accident on March 20 2008. Her name was Tiffany Klinetobe and she was 28 years old. She was a good friend of mine and I feel just horrible about it. The accident occurred here in Wellman Iowa. Tiffany was a big supporter of the senator as is her father Tony Ramirez (he was an alternate delegate at the county convention). Needless to say the family is devastated. It would mean so much to the family if people sent notes of condolence. The address is:
Tony and Eloise Ramirez
801 12th Ave
Wellman, IA 52356-9204
Tiffany leaves behind three young children (Harmony-8 Shawn-7 and Joslyn-6). Any contact you can make with the family would be greatly appreciated!! You can contact me at 319-213-4306 with any questions. Here is a link to Tiffany's obituary:

And here's a link about the accident:

Here's a link to the funeral home where you can leave a message for the family if you wish:

As a young mother of three children, Tiffany didn't have a lot of money. I know she'd be thrilled to know that people were giving to the campaign in her honor. Thank you all!

Update-
Hi everyone-
I went to the visitation today. It was very sad but Tiffany's parents are Native American and they have some traditions that are very comforting to them. The one that touched me the most was that all the girls in the family braid their hair then cut off the braid and put it in the coffin. That may sound weird but if you could have been there and seen the array of braids- Tiffany's mother-sisters and daughters- all layed out on Tiffany's hands....it was very powerful. Tiffany's children were at the visitation while I was there. They're doing as well as can be expected. Kids are resilient in a lot of ways. I'm just so sad that they won't have their mom to love them and guide them throughout their lives. Money is going to be a problem...Tiffany didn't have life insurance. The kids will get a social security check and their father is employed. I'm hoping the extended family will be able to help a lot. Anyway- thank you again for all your support. I wasn't even planning to post something about Tiffany's death but when I went to her house yesterday to talk with her parents- her father talked about how much hope he has for our country. He remembers JFK and said he made him feel the same way as Obama does. That's when it occurred to me that people might be willing to send cards to help them through this terrible time. I know when I experienced a similar loss several years ago- it was the kindness of strangers that kept me going. So again- thank you so very much. The funeral is tomorrow and I'll post an update after that. Peace!

Okay guys....
Texas will release their caucus results on March 29th...right?
We have to come up with some scheme to get the message across that Barack won TX.
Should we plan a grassroots campaign to blog major blog sites the entire day? I really want to hammer this home so it does not get overlooked by MSM. We have to make it a BIG DEAL because everyone has been bragging about HRC winning OH and TX....when in fact, she has not won/did not win TX.
I'm afraid MSM will just mention it as a "by the way, Obama got some votes in Texas" without explaining he got more delegates...HE WON TEXAS.
AND.....Remember Bill saying, if she doesn't win both TX and OH....she can't win the nomination? We ought to hammer that home as well with the DNC and supers. Mark your calendars and do not let this slip by us.
Any other ideas / thoughts on how to attack this?

My daughter lives on the PA/Ny state line..here is her take on the weekend.
One of my fellow (former) Councilmembers Michael Taylor is part of the Obama group in Jamestown. They meet at a local coffeeshop and I haven't had time to go to any of the meetings.
Talked to some of Dana's relatives yesterday - they live all over, some in Pennsylvania, some from Texas. Dana's nephew from Texas said immigration reform is a huge issue and he was not convinced that Obama had a workable plan, he did not tell me who he voted for. He said he would not vote for McCain in the general election and I told him Clinton is not as she might "appear" - but he said he will wait to see who emerges. He said voting in Texas in the primary was a nightmare.
Everyone from Ohioans, Pennsylvanians and Texans said they were inundated with phone calls and it was almost too much.
Just wanted to give you an update from "the voters"! No one is talking about race, everyone is talking about the price of gas, the cost of groceries, whether or not they can go on vacation, when they might be able to sell their homes at a decent price, when the troops will come home. Not that race is a distraction, I don't think it is, but someone needs to focus on the issues that are affecting the day to day lives of Americans and get rid of all the other crap that is being brought forward on a daily basis. It gets very frustrating.
Ahhh Politics.

Did you all know that most of HRC's superdelegates are DNC officials (who's more likely to be swayed by favors and loyalty) and not elected officials? This is opposite for BO.
Also, many of these DNC officials endorsed HRC last year before the race was truly competitive.

Many of their votes come from the DNC members and Distinguished Party leaders who are more likely to long standing ties to the Clintons.

Win in PA!

Also, I'd like to see a video of Baracks's grandma in Hawaii speak on behalf of her grandson. Let's hear her voice. Some have been pounding that Barack threw his grandma under the bus or train because she is no longer living. I believe she is very much alive and Barack's statement of his grandma was nothing more than a juxtaposition of 2 different people in his life with two different experiences. So, it'll be nice to see her respond to the right-wing faux pundits on this and many more. It'll be powerful along with Barack's sister's testimony. To air on all primetime news shows (local and cable).

These people aren't attacking Barack because of what he said about his grandma. They are attacking him because they don't like him, and they will pounce on anything he says or does as proof that he should not be President.

Trust me these people will say whatever anyway. We are not trying to win those faux right-winger votes, we need to cut into Hillary's base of older white women especially in PA and NC and right now the faux spin of the "typical white person" is working in their favor not ours. Any voter discouraged is a loss for us so we must push back with what we have.

I think Barack spoke the truth and that will show on April 22. All those women that are suppose to be the Clinton's demographic probably felt a little something of unspoken truth inside themselves when he told the story of his grandmother. By telling his story he didnt say it was wrong to be afraid of a black man walking down the street, he said it was human and its something we can talk about.

The Game Plan I have tried to the campaign for several days. Among the strategies advocated is a very different approach to sdvertising. It squares with constructive responses I have heard comparing Ohio and PA campaign options. I respect the judgment of the campaign. But I believe all ideas need to be heard.
Obama Playbook for The Next Weeks
1. Move to the HIGHEST Ground possible. Appoint Bill Richardson as your basic surrogate to answer Clinton attacks. Do not spread this task aroound. Axelrod and other top advisers would determine when and if Bill was needed. By and large, the campaign should answer attacks only if they have legs. If not, we should avoid the temptation to get into a pissing contest. Play some Rope-A-Dope if the Clinton campaign keeps kitchen sinking.
2. Be MAGNANIMOUS rather than INGENUOUS when dealing with the Michigan-Florida issue. For example say that you are not proposing a 50-50 split as much as acknowledging the need for some compromise and accepting the responsibility of the state parties to work it out with the DNC.
3. Create commercials for PA featuring Pennsylvanians. "I am a senior citizen in Altoona." "I am an unemployed pipefitter in Scranton." And so forth. WHY they are voting for Barack. Then: I'm Barack Obama. I approve this message and I'll be working for NAME when I am President of the United States. No response ads, no attacks, no justifications. Just these.
4. Keep the trickle of superdelegates going -- but tell superdelegate prospects you want to EVEN the number with Hillary. That will be more palatable.
5. It's the PRIMARIES stupid. A redoubled effort to get votes, votes, votes.
6. As suggested in a prior post, make a MAJOR ADDRESS in PA that crystallizes the Obama Platform in ten diamond points. Have Bill Richardson there along with Governor Sebelius and Senator McCaskill. These should be your main surrogates in PA. Bread and butter. No glitz.
7. Focus major dollars on building the on-the-ground effort in all the remaining states. This should be a budget decision. See things as IOWA all over again. As if the campaign was beginning.
8. Avoid Saturation. Complaints regarding saturation calling, saturation advertising, leafleting and anything that suggests too much of anything.

I am pro-life, pro-Israel, Pro-American. What I believe is we have been lied to by both parties. I have made my decision based on what Obama says. This man spoke in Fort Worth, Texas prior to the primary. I was one of 12,000 people that could hear a pin drop as he spoke. The rally was inspiring and I believed at that point I was witnessing history.
Obama is a highly intelegent, sensitive man that will do the right thing in the interest of all of us who are supporting and voting for him. He has depth and strenght of character and I don't since any falsehood in his speech or heart.
I understand people may say how I know this about someone I haven't met.... well I challenge everyone one to pray about who they should vote for. God will let you know.

Young people! I love you! I love your energy, your humor, and your dedication.
But I really wish you'd not attribute things you don't like to "the older generation," or the other generation, or whatever. Pat Buchanan's attitude is despicable to us, too, and always has been.
Don't forget, we of the older generation (many of us) were the ones who were out there picketing in the 60s. We're still here, with the same openness and same enthusiasm that we had back ten.
We're not all conservative rigid nuts.
It's just another stereotype.

General Electric is a major sponsor. So much of what has occurred is disingenuous spin. If you and I as well as other could access video of more complete sermons of Rev. Wright these news outlets certainly had the same ability. The excerpts were out of context. I have written to all the major media outlets asking them to correct their spin. I want them to air complete sermons of Rev. Wright. I would like for them to have a theologian affiliated with a historical black school of theology such as Howard University to comment on his sermons. Also I would like for them to have someone from his denomination to speak on his ministry. I do not want any body job. I want misunderstandings corrected. Rev. Wright's ministry has become collateral damage in Obama’s bid for the presidency. His character has been maligned.

I have seen the 1st and 3rd Ads on Prime Time shows including the NCAA on CBS that I am watching now.
They were shown on Meet the Press this AM as well as on CNN.
The first Ad is most effective at this time, because it is worth a million words to show Barack with his "typical" white grandmother.
Don't believe the media take on the "typical" remark. If 70% of those polled liked Barack's Race speech that means that 95% actually liked it since people who support other candidates Do Lie to pollsters.
However, there are so many new Ads that could be effective also.
Please continue to Donate, so more of these Ads can be seen here in PA.

This brings up Obama's financial advantage. Why isn't the media making this a bigger story? Its another reason why Obama is a better General Election candidate.
Link
It appears that Hillary would have -2 million going into March, if she expects to reserve 5 million to repay her own loan.
I thought I read that Obama had 38 million in the bank going into March. Can someone confirm?
We know Hillary did well in the week after March 4, but I'll bet that we have raised more $ so far for March. As the inevitability of Obama sinks in, we should continue to outpace her, which means we can make PA close.
My prediction is 35 million raised for March for Obama to 22 million for Hillary. However, since funds raised for Obama should pass on to the General Election, then I expect Obama to out raise Hillary by an even larger margin.
Giving to Hillary is like throwing out money.
Thoughts?

No, that's money in the bank after paying most of her debts. The figure +3 million has been mentioned, but we might assume she doesn't want to spend 5 million of her own money without reserving 5 million from her losing campaign to pay herself back. (3-5=-2)

Pressure grows on Democrats to unite behind a candidate |
Report to Admin
By
Obama Supporter
Mar 23rd 2008 at 6:23 pm EDT
"Democrats came under mounting pressure Sunday to close ranks behind a single candidate, as Hillary struggles to wrest the mathematical advantage from Barack Obama to win their party's nod for the White House.
The bitter presidential campaign faces weeks of harsh confrontation ahead of next month's crucial primary clash in Pennsylvania, one of 10 remaining contests to decide who will face off against John McCain in November's election.
Clinton is in an uphill battle to close the gap between her and Obama, who holds a lead in the number of nominating delegates, the nationwide popular vote and the number of contests won in the campaign.
Clinton's chances of snatching a victory were receding by the day, analysts said, with respected US newspaper Politico stressing Obama would have to be "hit by a political meteor" for Clinton to win the Democratic death-match.
Clinton's own campaign reportedly has acknowledged that there is virtually no way she can finish ahead of Obama in pledged delegates.
"She will be close to him but certainly not equal to him in pledged delegates," a Clinton advisor told Politico.
Estimates show Obama leading the former first lady in pledged delegates 1,628 to 1,493, and ahead in the primary popular vote by nearly 750,000 people. The Democrats' proportional delegates system makes it highly unlikely that Clinton would surpass Obama.
Either candidate would need 2,025 delegates to secure the nomination, but with just about 500 more delegates still up for grabs it will be virtually impossible for either to win the contest outright.
That leaves the Democratic contest in the hands of 796 superdelegates, assigned by the Democratic National Committee, who can vote the way they wish at the party's national convention in Denver in August.
Independent website RealClearPolitics.com puts the superdelegate count at 248 for Clinton and 213 for Obama as of Sunday.
Bill Richardson, who threw his support behind Obama on Friday, called on the campaigns to end their brutal bickering and unite behind Obama or risk a "bloodletting" that would alienate voters in the general election.
"The Democrats (should) come together and look at who's ahead when it comes to delegates, when it comes to the popular vote, the number of states," he said Sunday on Fox news.
"The best thing to do is unite around the candidate, start our message nationally, and make sure that we get a lot of healing done."

He is ahead by at least 814,000 votes. The new figure includes an estimate from the caucuses in WA, IA, ME and NV.
Link
He is ahead by 49.6 - 46.6 %.
I did a calculation which I showed yesterday. In order for Hillary to get even with Barack in popular vote, she would have to defeat him by 57.1%-42.9% in the remaining contests!
In order to tie in pledged delegates, she would have to win by 65-35% in remaining contests. However, if Obama doesn't win NC, it would be very embarrassing.
The media today are citing figures of 700,000 or 750,000 which are both wrong. Caucuses do count. Just because the numbers aren't precise, is not a reason to ignore them.
The 814,000 figure could go higher if they average in the TX caucus after March 29. About 1.1 million were supposed to have voted in the TX caucus.
If anyone can find errors in the Caucus Popular Vote numbers, please let us know.

We had Jessie Helms as Senator for many terms. The recent polls favor Barack Obama and he is setting up here this week. My are, central NC is dominated by universities and well educated demographic with upper income population. There are the 'old south' groups that vote straight Republican and love gun shows. A tobacco farming state with pick up trucks and confederate flags frequently seen. Will be a challenge for Obama, but we do have more than 30% independent voters.

I don't like the word "Trolls" to describe those who don't agree with this campaign. It creates a Us and Them dichotomy which is the very antithesis of this campaign.
If we don't agree that's fine - I will talk about issues or perhaps respond, or if the post is not worth responding to, let's just leave it alone.
I understand that the whole notion of writing down a recipe was perhaps to transform something negative into something positive, but I find it a bit too much like a child with his fingers in his ears shouting, "I cant hear you. I cant hear you"
I am an Obama supporter.
And I don't think the message of unity and change will be diluted by anyone else's posts. The posts themselves do not distract - our responses to them do.
Sol, let us just say, in the words of Senator Obama, or some other great statesman, "we can disagree without being disagreaable"
More power to everyone. Feel free to comment. Try to stick to the issues.

Sean, for my part, I apply the word Troll to anyone, usually w/out a profile, who sets out, through malicious, profane, hate mongering rhetoric, to disparage, w/o basis of fact or reason, our candidate and the supporters of this movement.
I will agree with you that too often others are quick to disparage ANYONE whose ideas or queries may run counter to some "perceived" common truths, and in so doing alienate and censor any real meaningful debate and discussion.
I think the lesson here, too, is that often a lot of nuance and subtlety is lost in the written blog word that would otherwise be clearer if we were speaking to each other directly.

Lynn,
I agree, and I'm very careful in terms of who I assign the moniker to. I don't use the word troll lightly.
That said, there ARE people who are trolls, people whose sole purpose is to sow discord and strife. I've been on the internet long enough to know the difference between a troll and a dissenting point of view. It's all in the tone and language.
I'm all for MEANINGFUL discussion and debate, however, trolls advocate MEANINGLESS debate, which is why I don't engage them. I usually feed trolls a recipe just to let them know they'll get no fight from me, and that their nonsense isn't worth any serious intellectual consideration.

Too often one may get the impression of some who use the "troll" charge are not truly living up to the message of Barack who we should all be supporting her by our actions and words.
We have more in common than not, and Barack stands for understanding others and bringing people together. To charge "troll" because of disagreement, even when someone finds something offensive, is not the type of tolerance that I think Barack emulates.
He is a great leader, but sometimes some of us need to be better followers. No offense intended to anyone in particular, but just expressing my opinion about tolerance. For those that read it, thanks.

John,
I'm sorry, but a troll is a troll. I call them as I see them. And I don't throw the term around like it's nothing. I'm very careful who I pin the moniker on. Simply disagreeing with someone's point of view, or not being willing to support Obama doesn't warrant a troll designation. Coming in here acting like a fool, disrupting, name calling, disrespecting and just being a general arse DOES. I won't hesitate to post a troll recipe on them because these people bring the morale down in some supporters. On the other hand, troll recipes toss humor into the situation, reminding us all not to take any of this seriously. You and I can just agree to disagree on this.

Unfortunately, at times, there ARE trolls on our blogs. They were out in FULL FORCE earlier today. If you visit some of the earlier threads, you'll see "deleted comment" quite frequently.
I think Admin is doing a Great job in removing the idiotic remarks posted by those who are clearly anti-Obama. However, sometimes they are missed by Admin (until we call it to their attention).
Likewise, it's unfortunate that some true Obama supporters are at times mistakenly called out as trolls.
Pls keep in mind that these things are going to happen. Nobody's perfect!
It can be very frustrating to read a post from a troll. The first instinct is to negatively strike back. But in the spirit of the campaign, if we chose to respond to them, we aim to do so in a positive way. Some post recipes, some donate, some make extra calls, etc.
If you're accidently mistaken for a troll, pls don't be offended. We're all on the same team and we're all striving to keep our blog clean and troll-free. Thanks!

Doleatha,
While I disagree with Lynn about using the word "troll" (I will continue to use it) I do agree that some of us are way too quick at assigning the word, and have in fact mistakenly labeled Obama supporter's with the word. So I think what's needed is for people to be careful before posting.
The negativity trolls insert on these boards has a tendency to lower morale, so I'm all for the humor in these recipes. I think it reminds people not to take all the stuff so seriously. Sometimes simply calling a troll a troll does indeed shut them down. Other times posting a recipe does. LOL I think as long as people don't get into debate with these poor individuals, it's okay. Debating a troll is an exercise in futility.

Taliese, you are so right. I hate it when I see posts that 'attack' the troll (instead of simply killing it with kindness)! LOL
It reminds me of what a friend once told me:
Never wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty...and the pig likes it.
Keep those recipes coming!
