HELENA, MT – The Obama campaign announced today the endorsements of twelve Montana county attorneys. These leaders from across Montana cited Senator Obama’s strong record of supporting law enforcement as well as his commitment to protecting individual rights that are important to the lives of all Montanans.
"Respect for the law, especially the Constitution, is the cornerstone of all our freedoms,” said Missoula County Attorney Fred Van Valkenburg. “It is absolutely essential to our future that we restore the utmost respect for the administration of the law in our country. We, as elected Montana prosecutors, believe that Barack Obama's background teaching constitutional law and his service in the U.S. Senate demonstrate his commitment to that concept. We, therefore endorse his candidacy in the Montana primary for the Democratic nomination for President."
