Today, our campaign announced the membership of our Pennsylvania Sportsmen and Sportswomen for Obama Steering Committee. Avid hunters and anglers from around the state, the committee members lauded Obama for his understanding of and respect for Pennsylvania’s hunting and fishing traditions and his strong record on conservation.

Braddock Mayor John Fetterman said:

Barack Obama recognizes that hunting and fishing are time-honored family traditions in Pennsylvania, and we can trust him to protect those traditions as President. From keeping our waterways clean to finally making progress on climate change, Obama will fight for us.

Members of the Pennsylvania Sportsmen for Barack Obama Steering Committee will advise the campaign and lead outreach efforts to other sportsmen and sportswomen throughout the state. The committee’s membership is listed below:

A few seconds is all it takes

I’ve crafted an email you can send to your friends and foes alike to counter the email smear campaign against Obama. It has plenty of links that they can't deny. More than 80 people have joined this effort but we need your help to make it viral (as in everywhere).
I've also added information on Rev. Wright and how Fox "news" is misquoting him. If you’ve already got a copy of the email, you may want to check because it’s been updated.

If you don’t feel comfortable sending this to your friends, you could just keep it in your inbox for a ready-made response to any smears that come your way.

Governing openminded, not centrist | Report to Admin

I keep reading and seeing talk shows where Barack Obama is getting hammered for being too liberal and only voting from the left. I think the real issue is how he would govern. If he could speak (especially now in PA) on the need to govern with openess rather than being centrist, you would have a leader in government rather than a follower. If he could speak about having an administration made up of democrats, independents, and yes, even republicans, he could really be a uniter. He should also speak more on the need for his administration to work more closely with Congress, especially the house. He needs to speak on the important relationship between local, state and federal representatives in working together in addressing issues, passing bills, and solving problems. In this way, he can talk about his state senator experience. His opponents keep minimizing those years. He needs to turn that into a positive.

Discussing how he will govern will reach average voters easier by specifically stating his ability to work together with all types of politicians, use his authority to bring opposing groups together, and use his experience in local and state government to understand average americans' concerns.

If this is true, why did the Violence Policy Center receive increased funding during the time that he was a board member of the Joyce Foundation? They support banning hunting rifles and ammunition. Why did the IPGV receive funding for supporting the mandatory storage of long-arms at "gun clubs"? Why does he support 3rd party lawsuits against firearm manufacturers, closing down the majority of gun shops through zoning restrictions, and banning all semi-auto firearms?
