Hi everyone! The blog has been updated with the March 28th *morning* news content!
For those who don't know, my name is Cris and I'm a Cuban-American who supports Barack Obama.
I run a blog that compiles pretty much every major news article and commentary that comes out each day about Senator Obama. My hope is that it's a useful tool for those who want to keep up with everything going on in the campaign. I also contribute my own commentary as well.
I hope this is helpful to everyone.

Published on FOXNews.com on March 28, 2008.
Hillary Clinton’s made-from-whole-cloth fantasy about the perils of her trip to Bosnia was no unique foray into a world of make-believe accomplishments.
She’s been doing that for a long time.
Here’s another telling example: At a 1997 race-relations forum for teenagers in Boston, Hillary recalled the “pain” of a “childhood encounter” that helped her to grasp the injury suffered by the victims of bigotry. Her comments came as her husband was launching his second term in office by calling for a national dialogue on race and reconciliation. In an effort to empathize with her audience and inject herself into the discussion, she made up yet another incident that never happened.
“During a junior high school soccer game” on a cold day, Hillary claimed “a goalee told her ‘I wish people like you would freeze.’” Stunned, the future first lady asked how she could feel that way when she did not even know her. “I don’t have to know you,” the goalee shot back, “to know I hate you.”
Nice story, but it never happened.
While today’s generation of young girls routinely play on multiple soccer teams in their schools and towns, Hillary’s generation had no such opportunity. Hillary may have attended lots of Chelsea Clinton’s soccer games, but, that seems to be the sum total of her soccer career. As a school sport, girls’ soccer teams didn’t exist when Hillary went to middle or high school. In 2004, the Athletic Director for South Main High School in Park Ridge — and a 34-year veteran of the school system — confirmed that there were no girls’ soccer teams of any kind in Hillary’s school district in the 1960s.
Hillary seems to have simply conjured up the tale, like the one about the Balkans and the one about Chelsea jogging around the Trade Center on 9/11 and the one about being named after Sir Edmund Hillary, to appear more relevant to her listeners and to establish a bond of empathy with them.
(Girls’ soccer was catalyzed by the passage of Title IX of the Civil Rights Act in 1972 which mandated that girls and boys sports be treated equally in public education. It was only well after that law went into effect that girls’ soccer teams sprung up. Unfortunately, Hillary was 25 at the time and well past her intramural days).
These “embellishments” of Hillary’s

This part of the article supports what I already suspected and is downright chilling -
"But I think it's fair to say of the establishment media at this point that it is well populated by people who feel such a lack of faith in Mrs. Clinton's words and ways that it amounts to an aversion. They are offended by how she and her staff operate. They try hard to be fair. They constantly have to police themselves.
Not that her staff isn't policing them too. Mrs. Clinton's people are heavy-handed in that area, letting producers and correspondents know they're watching, weighing, may have to take this higher. There's too much of this in politics, but Hillary's campaign takes it to a new level."

I agree, looks good for him to dress more casually in some of his appearances- the "rolled up sleeves ready to dive in and work" look.
Ties and suits are good for his speeches but I think he looks more casual, like a friend or coworker in some of these ads, tours of factories etc.

I have been thinking long and hard of late about how I feel about Rush's Operation Chaos, and I have finally come to a decision on the subject.
My first reaction to it was negative, believing it to be a serious breach of ethics by a media personality. But as it continues and I have had more time to think on it, I have come to realize that despite Rush's intentions to disrupt and bloody us, what he has actually accomplished is to increase the respect held nationwide for Barack Obama.
By stretching the Democratic primary out, Rush, other right-wing pundits, MSM and misguided Republicans voters have caused a series of events to occur. Primarily, the need for Barack Obama to address the issue of race in America.
If the primary had stopped after Super Tuesday II, the now increasingly famous "A More Perfect Union" speech would never have been so eloquently given. Thank you for this!
Additionally, people have gained an understanding of how manipulative the Conversative Republicans can be in regard to democracy.
To me its a win/win proposition for our campaign, so have at it Rush! Keep up the good work!
In the end only America and the Democratic party will gain by your interference. We will come together behind our nominee, which ever it is (from my viewpoint, preferably Barack Obama) and our ground game will be so organized and so motivated that neither McCain or any other Republican running for office anywhere will stand a chance.
In closing, Thank you, Rush Limbaugh and Thank you, Fox News!

Her so called "blog" is closed to any kind of discussion that might actually help folks with their decision between the two candidates.
Her blog is as secretive as her "papers" and her income taxes.

A WARM WELCOME TO ALL NEW EX-HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTERS!
I apologize that our tone has become so heated! It's NOT you :) If you're here for the first time because of recent frustrations over Hillary's "misspeaking" please understand that if our blog sounds upset with her, we are NOT denouncing YOU!
In fact, we deeply admire your coming to rethink your options during this election! It takes bravery to stare your candidate in the eye and say, what would make me leave you?
I know that there are things that I would leave Barack Obama's campaign over, although I don't foresee these things happening, just as many of you never suspected that Hillary would actively discredit herself in such an upsetting fashion.
Also, please recognize that our blogs are highly unmoderated... we "self-report." If you are NEW HERE, and have a question, and you ask it politely, you will undoubtedly get a polite answer. We've had people from EVERY political ilk come through and ask questions. We also have trolls come through often, and that's an intrinsic problem with a campaign that does promote an attack-dog mentality: it trickles down into its supporters.
We know you aren't a bad person and we do embrace you.

There are bound to be some pretty raw feelings on whomever steps down from this nomination. It's pretty clear that one of the candidates will have to have enough courage and honor to realize that the time is close when it is necessary.
Does not make it any easier that's for sure. Imagine how we would feel if it were us after all of the donations, the calls, the blogging etc. So much eneregy goes into these efforts and it has got to be hard to tell your supporters that the end has come.
She is one tough competitor and I'm glad that Barack has never once disgraced her candidacy or her patriotism.
And that should tell her supporters a great deal about the man we have embraced.
This is not a race thing or gender thing for me. This is about ideas. If Hilary had the quality of ideas voiced by Barack, she might have my vote.

By now you’ve heard Wright’s “chickens coming home to roost” comment about 9/11. What you might not know is that Wright was quoting directly from Edward Peck, former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq. If you watch the entire sermon, you’ll hear Wright say that he saw Peck make this comment on Fox. Unfortunately, Fox “news” conveniently left that part of the sermon out of their coverage.
From CNN:
“One of the most controversial statements in this sermon was when he mentioned ‘chickens coming home to roost.’ He was actually quoting Edward Peck, former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and deputy director of President Reagan’s terrorism task force, who was speaking on FOX News. That’s what he told the congregation. He was quoting Peck as saying that America’s foreign policy has put the nation in peril.”

Thank you so much for taking the time to support this initiative. I also appreciate the conversation and agree with you about the power and eloquence of Barack's speech yesterday. We believe that if we make a dent in the women's vote in Pennsylvania that we can help deliver the state to Obama.
A few suggestions are listed below on how to get started.

Hello to you from Sweden, Kim from Florence - (or, in my own language: hej på dig från Sverige, Kim från Florence! - I doubt this will be displayed correctly, as I'm using a letter that doesn’t exist in “your” alphabet.)
I checked out your new "World" fundraiser, where I saw that you have to check the box "I am a United States citizen or a lawfully-admitted permanent resident", to be allowed to donate.
A few months ago I tried to purchase some stuff from the OBAMAstore, but I was not allowed... They were kind enough to put me in touch with Daniel Dozier, who confirmed no contributions were permitted from non-American citizens. Thanks to his suggestion, I did place a consistent order through Cafepress.com. And then I bought all books by Barack at Amazon.co.uk... (And then I sent money... anonymously to HQ! Naughty me....)And I'm campaigning my own way, publishing articles in European newspapers, forwarding memos, and so on... BUT: I am afraid it is impossible for non-American citizens living in Europe to donate through your "World" fundraiser! Please, enlighten me and correct me if I'm wrong.
OBAMA will be President. We all need him! And a BIG BIG THANK YOU to all of you, who are working hard to make this world better.

A WARM WELCOME TO ALL NEW FORMER HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTERS!

Peggy Noonan speaks today about HRC supporters sense of disenchantment and loss.
This is just so much like when John Edwards left the race, or was close to leaving, and his supporters began trickling over this way.
Now we have so many former Edward supporters who do share our excitement for Barack.
And certainly, I was pleased that Senator Clinton stated yesterday that Democrats would -- and should -- be unified.

I can feel it coming. We are on the verge of winning the nomination. Time to call Texas and make sure we get hold of those delegates. I have been seeing anecdotal evidence that there could be some problems. We need to call delegates and even it they have been called we need to call them again. It is possible that Clinton supporters have been calling off or our lists so we need to call and call again. Any Obama supporter will be happy to hear from us often so don't worry about calling too many times.

sorry if ppl are offended i quote a pop star but to me that is true...i have no freakin' money; i am living from 28 dollars for the next week. i have to strategically plan every trip from my home so i do not blow the gas. and you know what??? i think BO is the only candidate who gets that. i actually have to wait for my fifteen dollar cc payment to clear to donate another ten bucks. that is how strongly i believe. and i do not think it will be done overnight. but he will do it, because he cares about all. such a wisdom in BO; he seems to understand all sides of any issue. i am so impressed with that. he does not say it will magically happen, but he needs US; how awesome is that?? one thing i think about frequently is how much good can we ultimately be, but if you take the amount we have donated to the campaign and apply it to any social program.......we have already had a miracle.
change happens (imo) in the heart first, mind second, and actions last. let us change our hearts and minds about this country. amen.

Obama's ads are great. It reminds me a bit of one of Biden's ads where he was in a cornfield talking about the sacrifices of our soldiers in Iraq. What I like is that Obama is talking to you. It requires more time on the candidate's part to do these, and it shows the candidate cares. Far better than an ad full of stock footage and a voice actor with "I'm {name} and I approve this message" tacked on the beginning or end.

In the spirit of being a gracious winner, I think it is time to start being nice to Clinton and her supporters. I'm going to act as if Clinton has now lost and welcome her support in the general. At this point I believe that we have the momentum and will achieve victory. The calls for her to get out of the race are now starting to grow. Tomorrow, if we can get our delegates to follow through in Texas, will mark another victory for us. When the MSM media announces that CLINTON HAS LOST IN TEXAS it will be increasingly apparent that she has not only lost in Texas bus has lost in the USA. So in the spirit of being a good winner I invite all Clinton supporters to join us. Here is my MSM post:
"I believe that Clinton has proved to be a tough campaigner. As an Obama supporter I appreciate her standing up for what she believes in. I believe that she is a Democrat at heart and will fight to the end for the well being of the party. That said, I welcome her support for Obama in the general election."

Kentucky Law states you can only vote in the primary if you change your party affiliation on or before Dec. 31st of the PREVIOUS year. So, if any of his "Operation Chaos" faithful in Kentucky have switched parties after Dec 31 2007, they will not be able to vote in the Democratic Primary. Here's the link

Good. It will be over before Kentucky. I don't think Clinton will make it past NC and IND. She will not drop out until then but I can see the end coming. Maybe I'm naive but this is what I see. Of course we have to plan for it to go all the way. We don't want to get caught short like Clinton did after super Tuesday. Also any infrastructure we set up now and any campaigning we do now will benefit the general. Watch as Barack goes at McCain and only acts as if Clinton is a pesky fly that you have to swat away when it comes buzzing around.

I watched his rally in PA today through a link provided by a blogger earlier. My favorite part is that he is the first American politician I've encountered that has advocated a plan that I've wanted to see here for a long while - assisting Americans in their education should be balanced by the Americans receiving assistance then IN TURN working for their communities and for those in need. This is a circle of hope, a kind of bootstraps policy that the Republicans have never been able to fully realize. It is impossible for millions of impoverished Americans to get to the lower or middle classes without assistance. IMPOSSIBLE. But what IS possible is helping a fraction of them, and telling them - now, help your families, help your neighbors, help your cities, get ACTIVE and know again what the words "Civic Duty" mean.

I was in those lines in the 70's in D.C. as a college student. It was back then that I realized we had to begin working on alternative fuels. It's been almost 40 years now. I understand that we generally get things done under crisis (beginning with our independence), but this is ridiculous. 20+ years ago some were already beginning to work on this technology, but it was snuffed out by the automobile manufacturing industry. Our representatives continually voted to subsidize them for their woes instead of encouraging them to change.
Thank you, Barack. Let's hope we can do this! It's time we get our act together. Maybe even with some planning we could sell some of our innovations here around the globe.

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) today called on Hillary Rodham Clinton to drop out of the presidential race, saying there is no way the New York senator can wrest the nomination from her rival Barack Obama.
"There is no way that Sen. Clinton is going to win enough delegates to get the nomination," Leahy, an Obama supporter, said in an interview with Vermont Public Radio this morning. "She ought to withdraw, and she ought to be backing Sen. Obama." (Ouch!)

I think it's money from individuals. One of the commentators mentioned that. When WE make donations, we have to write what company we work for. There are really a lot of people who do work for the oil companies in this country! Yeesh. If you work at a gas station, you work for "Shell" and it will show up that way in your contributions.
Yesterday, the Clinton camp said Barack Obama was not a Professor! I was this close to contacting the University of Chicago before they announced on FirstRead that Barack was...
in fact...
...a Professor.
So that is ANOTHER lie from the Clintons.
It goes on their "lie scorecard."

They still have the lie up about Professor Obama:
"He'd have to explain why he regularly claims he was a law professor when in fact he held no such title."
That's dirty. They're lying about him right on their site. We don't do that. Senator Clinton was really off-base to try to lie about this. It's a huge embaressment to her.
It shows that she lies. And it shows that she has poor judgement.
I dislike this maneuver.
There are a number of other lies on that page about Senator Obama as well. Every day she makes her blog link to various fallacious claims about him. It's really cheap.

Like a poster there said, if they're getting their numbers from individual donators, it means nothing, even if that donator is CEO of a company. If anyone looked further, those totals probably include employees of those companies since one has to list their employer when making a donation.
The CEO of my husband's company has contributed to both Obama and McCain and many people with money tend to do that.
Funny, HRC and her husband held stock in all those companies in the "blind trust" that they only sold after she announced she was running for president.

Barack is exactly right, the oil companies ARE obstructing progress on alternative energy use and are raking in obscene profits. Don't let anyone tell you anything else, and SUPPORT BARACK on his energy policy.. WE NEED THIS if we're going to survive as a nation!

The truth shall set HRC free to go back to the Senate:

"The Law School has received many media requests about Barack Obama, especially about his status as "Senior Lecturer."
From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama served as a professor in the Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors, although not full-time or tenure-track. The title of Senior Lecturer is distinct from the title of Lecturer, which signifies adjunct status. Like Obama, each of the Law School's Senior Lecturers have high-demand careers in politics or public service, which prevent full-time teaching. Several times during his 12 years as a professor in the Law School, Obama was invited to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position, but he declined."

When people make donations, they are asked to provide the name of their employer. I am guessing that the campaign contributions came from individual donors who work for Exxon, Shell, etc. If the money were from lobbyists, the amount from last month wouldn't be so small.
excerpt from Clinton's memo:
Sen. Obama has accepted money from Exxon, Shell, BP, Chevron and just about every other major oil company. Just last month, Sen. Obama accepted another $8,400 from ExxonMobil, $12,370 from Chevron and $6,500 from British Petroleum.

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT DISTINCTION FOR VOTERS TO UNDERSTAND.
You are correct---he cannot take more than $2300 from any one person per election. So money that appears to be "from oil companies" is actually just small amounts donated from individuals (like us) who happen to work for an oil company.
This means that no ONE person or company "owns" him because no ONE company or person could give him enough money to influence him. Hillary and McCain, on the other hand, accept huge amounts of money from lobbies and special groups that are specifically DESIGNED AND ORGANIZED TO influence them. And they do, because they are giving A LOT of dough with "hopeful strings" attached.
Does this make sense? This is my favorite issue but I have a hard time explaining it!

So a secretary who works in one of Exxon's many offices could donate $50 to the Obama campaign because she believes he is the best candidate, not because she wants to push the corporate agenda of Exxon. On the record, she would still show up as an employee of (and therefore affiliated with) Exxon.
I wonder if Hillary's campaign has been questioning Obama's truthfulness because she herself got caught lying about her Bosnia trip.

conference call w/ Bill Clinton |
Report to Admin
By
Bailey from Taos NM
Mar 28th 2008 at 2:24 pm EDT
Yesterday I was lucky enough to stumble onto the number and code for a conference call for the Clinton Texas precinct delegates. The call was touted as featuring Bill Clinton. First up was a guy who tried to get everybody to think there was a chance they could win the caucus delegates, hyping that there were a thousand people listening in on the call, etc. He prefaced many of his statements with: "Despite what you have read, despite what you've heard..." and then launched into his pep talk. Then a woman came on and began explaining the intricacies of the process, and exhorting listeners to "stand up for Hillary" at their district conventions. "We need to ask you to stand up for Hillary one more time," etc. The angle of the call was that Hillary has an opportunity to gain a lot of delegates at these conventions, w/ the between the lines implication being that she's in danger of LOSING a lot of delegates. Finally there was a long space of uncomfortable dead time when Bill was supposed to come on. (As usual, he was late.) Meanwhile, somebody asked the moderator how many people were in on the call. The moderator said there were 160 listeners. (Far cry from the thousand they claimed at first.) Finally Bill came on. He sounded tired, but was his talented self. He exhorted listeners to call their delegates and get them out. He said Hillary was going to win in Pennsylvania and possibly Indiana. He said at these district conventions in Texas, Hillary could get enough of a lead to secure the nomination. He said Hillary was only behind by 13 delegates in the primary elections but "What's killing us is the caucuses." "You can do this," he said.
If we can get the Obama people calling delegates TODAY we can swamp them with a fury. Obama has an opportunity to gain more delegates than the entire state of New Mexico will be sending to Denver. Please, please call delegates. Go to my profile and click on the event "Call Texas delegates" to get connected to the page.
The district conventions are tomorrow! Today and tonight are our last chance to make these calls.
Or even easier, go straight to the Obama "call texas delegates" page here:

You will be provided with a great script and 25 people to call.

Tere is no one who is big a Obama supporter as I am, but I dont know why we are putting memo's like that out telling everyone how the public doesnt like the negative aspect of Hillary's campaign, and that her negative stratagey hurts only her. I mean people realize that already, and thats why her negatives are so high anyway.
I dont think it looks good to attack her like that for no reason. People know on thier own that she is negative. i think it makes us look bad to try to rub her nose in her negative poll results.
I know we want to look like we are on offense instead of Defense, but this kind of memo we put out looks petty to me. It just doent seem to be needed when nothing had to be said.
we should have jut put out a memo saying how happy we were to get the new SD, and talk about how Barack is going to help working family's in PA.
I mea to put ot a memo like that just to put it out is strange to me.

Actually they (MSM) are being controlled. Here is an excerpt from a recent WSJ opinion piece that explains it -
"But I think it's fair to say of the establishment media at this point that it is well populated by people who feel such a lack of faith in Mrs.

"But just taking Edwards' endorsement of Clinton on its own, how much would it help Hillary and how much could it hurt Obama? Because Edwards has waited so long to do so, two things are immediately apparent. The first is there aren't that many states left to vote. OLD NJ DEM - Bruce Taylor

I'd like to urge people to lower the tone on criticism of Senator Clinton. We can now win without any reference to her or her campaign's behavior. Senator Obama cannot win in November without the ACTIVE support in the Fall from the great majority of Senator Clinton's supporters. If we act harshly now just to “get back” at Clinton, SENATOR McCAIN will be the next President of the United States
A little of our own math: in 2004, just over 59,000,000 voters voted for John Kerry. Kerry got the second most votes for President in our nations' history AND HE LOST. Even if Obama brings in 10,000,000 new voters (a highly doubtful number), that means there will still be probably about 25,000,000 Democrats who right now prefer Clinton to Obama. It is obvious that the Clinton campaign is math-challenged but we should not be. We cannot win the election if millions of Clinton supporters sit on their hands in November. It may take many of you months to come around, but you going to have to, or risk losing this election to McCain.
Look, MY WIFE supports Clinton. My wife worked hard for President Clinton both times he ran, is very active in local Democratic politics, and she thinks that Senator Clinton is talented (and I do too; I am just very disappointed in her campaign). We can't antagonize my wife just to score points. We need her help, and millions like her, to beat McCain in the Fall.
If you would rather be "right" than win, let me remind some of the younger supporters: many Democrats had that attitude in 1968 and "sat out" that election because they opposed the Vietnam War and Vice President Humphrey, the Democratic nominee who did not even run in the primaries. So, in a very close election, voters elected Richard Nixon, arguably the worst President of the 20th Century. The Vietnam War extended for another 5 years, leading to tens of thousands of additional American deaths. I'd rather save the lives than feel that I had won on "principle" while losing in fact.
As Senator Casey said today in endorsing Senator Obama - we all want a Democrat in the White House next January. And my Dad's reminder to me when I was a kid (in the Stone Age): it's easier to be gracious in victory than it is in defeat.

I agree. But does your wife not feel uncomfortable with Senator Clinton's lying about Barack Obama, such as continuing to claim that he was not a Professor when he was, which even the University of Chicago where he worked clarified?
Truly, I am curious about the rationalization that occurs to support a politician whom you know lies.
Perhaps because I am a religious person, it is difficult for me to get past the seeming amorality of supporting this in your candidate.
If Barack lied in this way, I'd be out of here in a hot minute. But he's a real straight shooter and he's amazed me with his candor and conduct both.
I know we'll win one way or another, of course. But it would be nice if good people questioned dishonesty more sharply. Again, I'm probably proselytizing a bit, but it does stand to reason that ethics are critical in candidates, does it not?

To kinda go with that. I was in the shower when it struck me.. what has been the press for the last 3 or so weeks? Positive news about any candidate or the relentless attack on the flaws?
Since when does the most tidious of flaws become more overpowering than the greatness of merit?
I admit, I have become that... I have spoken out on the "liar" or whatever flaw I can find about HRC. Instead I should be promoting the greatness of merit...that is, what do I believe that makes Obama the best candidate for the US? I should be promoting his fluency of language, his higher asperations of the american people, his willingness to move american ahead and put to bed the politcs of old.
I am for Obama because he can take us past the politics of old, but yet I find myself drifting back to politcs of old. I find myself saying, "liar", "racist", or that "i just don't like her."
Not this time. I like barack because he makes me want to be a better person. I have hope he will start to move this country to a place where my childern will inherit something better.
Therefore, I pledge (join me) that I will do more to elevate why I endorse Barack in a positive nature. I will denounce the politics of old of attacking the flaws of the opponent. If in a conversation I will only concentrate on the reasons why I am with barck and not engage in the flaw conversations that attack the character of the opponent.

All his contributions have been from average (might I even say, typical) Americans from all walks of life. So I am confident that he will be working for us and not for "them".

As I said in my earlier post, it is NOT true that Obama accepts money from oil companies. He only gets money from small donors who have to report where they work.
Imagine:
1. One candidate cannot take donations from any company, and can only take SMALL donations of less than $2301 from any individual. This money may add up, but there is no one person who gets to have "face time" with the candidate to influence them with "hey, look at all this money I gave you and I will give you more for re-election. Now listen to what I want from you..." Why? because no organized group or person gave the candidate a large sum of money. Think about it.
2. Another candidate takes LARGE amounts of money from lobbies and special groups that are specifically designed and organized influence them. These groups will have and request meetings with the candidate before and after their election. These groups openly want something from the candidate.
And ask yourself: Which candidate do you trust to represent regular folks.
That candidate, #1, is Barack Obama.
Candidate #2 is Hillary Clinton.

Senator Obama has accepted donations from nearly two million Americans, the majority of whom have donated less than $500 each. Certainly, some of his supporters may be employees of oil companies, and would have self-identfied as such according to FEC requirements.
I find it odd that anyone from the Clinton campaign would try to make hay of this. According to the Center for Responsive politics, yes, oil company employees have donated $160 million to the Obama campaign.
However, what Clinton supporters and surrogates don't point out is that his opponent has received *$289 million* from the same sources, and John McCain has received *$291 million*.
Senator Obama the only remaining presidential candidate who has not accepted PAC or lobbysist funding.

"LAJonathan See Profile I'm a Fan of LAJonathan
The implication that he "takes money from oil companies" is that he would accept money in return for favors. Accepting donations from individuals, who happen to work for a specific company, as these do, is not the same thing. It is required, by law, to state your company affiliation when making a donation. Hillary knows this, but obviously, she doesn't care about what is true and what is not."

When Bill Clinton was president...he did nothing to save us from reaching the crisis that we are in today...the Clintons took big money from the ultra-rich oil barons who are draining us dry...the Clintons live for today...they do not care are our future.....
The Clinton dog needs to tell the whole truth...telling me about $160,000 is a joke...we can generate $160,000 for Barack in less than one afternoon...
There are billions of dollar in profits being made by the oil industry...the Bushes and the Clintons put the ball in play before Barack set one foot in Washington...Do you think that we are stupid?

20 years....THE CLINTONS ARE A PART OF THE PROBLEM...THE CLINTONS DUG THE HOLE THAT WE ARE IN AND NOW THEY WANT TO BURY US IN IT....
How much of the $500,000,000.00 that the Clintons received came from the OIL INDUSTRY??? Now, have the Clinton Campaign Spokesman Phil Singer tell us about that....

How annoying. The invite was from me as above, so I'm well acquainted with the intention of it, which states unequivocally that it is for those who no longer support HRC and are seeking a new candidate, due to HRC's recent frustrating behavior.
While HRC won California on Super Tuesday, at present, she trails here in polls by 40% to Barack's 49%. That indicates to me that there is a lot of waffling out there. About 20% of California Democrats!
So... I anticipate HRC supporters will and are coming this way, and that we are open to them and discussing their concerns.
But argument is not debate, particularly when it's not for the purpose of clarification.

On their website. I don't have the link offhand.
It states he was a Professor. That is a broad header over being the particular type of lecturer he was, not guest lecturer, but "Senior Lecturer in the Law."
He was invited for tenure by the faculty.
Tenured or not, that's immaterial. He was a doctoral candidate who taught regularly at that University.
That makes him a Professor.
Some of the bells and whistles here for me were the fact that a former business partner of mine is a highly accredited law professor who did a BAR keynote address.
On top of being on my own way toward a Professorship.
I was debating whether to call him or the U of Chicago, because the question was bothering me.
The U of Chicago makes no bones about it today, however.
The term Senior Lecturer of Law DESCRIBES the TYPE of Professor Barack was.

She put it under her pillow along with a note to the tooth fairy. She asked the tooth fairy what her name was, left her a small neckless she had made and asked her to please write back to her. At the end of her note she added, "Please don't forget to vote for Obama." Priceless.

It’s unfortunate that Senator Obama is using false advertising to explain why he can be trusted to do something about energy prices. Senator Obama says he doesn’t take campaign contributions from oil companies but the reality is that Exxon, Shell, and others are among his donors. I wonder if they’ll fix the ad.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Sen. Obama has received over $160,000 from the oil and gas companies. Two major bundlers for his campaign -- George Kaiser and Robert Cavnar – are oil company CEOs. Sen. Obama has accepted money from Exxon, Shell, BP, Chevron and just about every other major oil company. That's not change I can believe in.
In 2005, Sen. Obama voted for the Dick Cheney energy bill, which Cheney wrote in secret with the oil industry. Hillary Clinton opposed Cheney's energy bill, has a plan to eliminate oil industry tax breaks, and would require oil companies to contribute to a $50 billion strategic energy fund to jumpstart research and investment in clean energy technologies.

But the claim is I DON'T TAKE MONEY. Which makes that a 160,000 lies.
As families are struggling to cope with the rising cost of oil, oil companies are reaping record-high profits. Yet because of the Bush Administration's failure to change course on energy policy, we find ourselves more dependent on foreign oil now than we were before 9/11.
Sadly, when Senator Obama had the chance to stand up against Dick Cheney's energy policies, he instead voted yes and helped bring us these huge tax cuts for big oil. In so voting for the 2005 energy bill, he provided billions in tax subsidies and giveaways to big oil. This bill was called the "The Best Energy Bill Corporations Could Buy," by Public Citizen. It provided $6 billion in oil and gas subsidies; $9 billion in coal subsidies; $12 billion in nuclear subsidies; and a host of other oil and gas regulatory rollbacks, including exempting a coalbed methane drilling technique called "hydraulic fracturing," from the Safe Drinking Water Act - an act that could make our drinking water unsafe. Senator Clinton opposed this bill because she believed we ought to be investing in alternative and renewable energy, and reducing our dependence on foreign oil. Senator Obama supported this bill.
Just sounds like the same old politics...

He DOESN'T take money from oil companies. What is difficult to understand about this? He took $160K from employees of oil companies, just like he's taking thousands from employees of retailers, thousands from employees of insurance companies, thousands from employees of government institutions, and thousands from manufacturers, service work institutions, and employees of every other type of work in this land! The money did not come from the company, it came from employees.
Should Obama instead say, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Patton, but you're a clerk at Exxon, and I don't want your money"? That's rude, and it's completely unfair for those of us who wish to support the best candidate.

But I guess you don't get that.
Or are you just upset that while the oil company, and other corporate big wigs are financing the Hill a Beans' campaign, the workers in this country are doing much better at financing ours?

You quoted from a memo put out by the Clinton campaign. From the past couple months and especially with Hillary's recent "misspeaking" about her Bosnia trip, it would be wise for all of us to do some research and look deeper into claims she makes about Senator Obama. The Clinto camp is using the same old politics to misrepresent and distort the truth.

No politician can deliver on 100% of promises, but what is striking about Obama is that he is willing to listen to all sides of an issue and then do whatever it takes to get the job done - in a reasonable and respectful manner. Congress can be extremely difficult to work with, and if Dems do not have a majority when Obama is in office, fulfilling every promise will be difficult. But, I think his open approach may yield more results than we've seen in the past.

CLINTON HITS BOTTOM OF THE BARREL
I got some info on the donation issue asserted in the latest Clinton camp memo about the oil ad running in PA, and of course, it's a non-issue. I'm stii curious about the vote, and if this is another false statement by the Clinton camp? I know from my phone banking experience that those seniors and blue collar workers we need to persuade don't use computers to get their information. We need to address this in the MSM ASAP, or we'll have OH #2.
Clarification on donations:
Claiming that a candidate has "taken... money from" a certain entity or industry is false and misleading.
The above Clinton campaign memo is trying to incorrectly imply that Obama is accepting money from oil and gas-funded PACs and/or lobbyists.
The problem with this is that when they make the claim that "Sen. Obama has received over $160,000 from the oil and gas companies", they are relying on reports submitted to the Federal Election Commission by their opponents, which contain a variety of details on each of their donors. Federal law requires that these donor reports contain the name of each donor's employer.
As a result, when a candidate makes a claim that their opponent "accept[s] money from" a certain company they are simply saying that certain employees of that company made a donation to their opponent. In other words, it could be a VP of that company, or a Secretary, or a Janitor.

I have been following this campaign in depth, far beyond this site, all the way to Republican talk radio and some very disturbing right-wing websites (and yes, I have survived to tell you about it, but just barely). It's been about 10 months of digging deep for any genuine flaws or areas of concern towards Obama, and honestly there aren't any in regards to Barack's ability to lead this country and be a great president. All his supposed negatives are just a matter of objectivity and perspective, none should be considered factual or undeniably negative to all people.
That being said, my one concern, and it is a slight one, revolves around his connections with nuclear power and that industry. I have some minor concerns about his stance on that subject, but I haven't found anything to truly justify any substantial concern, just a watchful eye. He has my vote, and even if connections did arise to justify serious concern, it couldn't possibly be enough to dissuade me from voting for him, or campaigning for him as I have been fervently and proudly. He is a great leader relative to our choices now and could prove to be the best president ever... we shall see.
But I'd like to point out, that he will not be the first black president of the United States of America. That is just plain false. It's inaccurate at least and this aspect of his candidacy is being used as a way to scare off fearful white voters. As pathetic as that is, it's not even true. And it is being used against him by the repugnant and tired old politics of the past that we are trying to at least side step, if not obliterate, in our effort to bring about a new era in politics that my generation and open minded people can support and be a part of with pride.
Barack Obama will only be the first BI-RACIAL president.
He is not simply black, and all Obama supporters know this to be a fact that gets overlooked all too often. It's one of Obama's strengths that I love the most.
So, I only ask a small favor from each of you, to try and point out to others that Obama won't be the first black president. He will be the first true representative of the new America, a Bi-Racial President for all.

Yes, Barack is bi-racial which means he represents all of us. In addition, his sister is 1/2 Indonesian, and, as he has said, he is sort of a United Nations in himself and his family. Although other countries have citizens of many ethnic groups, the United States is based on that philosophy. Now we have a chance to show it to the world by electing a president who represents our multiplicity. Perhaps he should use the same phrase Tiger Woods does, "I am multi-racial." And I suspect if most of us dug deep into our genealogy, we would find out we are too.

I can tell you that I am part a lot of things, including Native American and possibly even African from my fathers side of the family. I'm proud of the diversity and it has never occurred to me that I should want to hide such a great inheritance.
We are at several crossroads this election year, but I think the biggest most important one is the generational divide from the old Cold-War folks and my generation. We need to move past fear and be strong, proud, enlightened, very open minded and gracious citizens to be able to survive as a healthy nation in the new world economy that is facing us now.
Russia will come back into being competitive, the European Union will continue to grow stronger as they realize just how well their joint effort is working for them. China and India are also becoming big players in the international market... the world is going to go from one or two super powers to a handful of big fish in the pond. Adjustments need to be made that can only be accomplished by a unified country here. We can't afford this fear mongering BS any longer. Obama arrived on this scene just in time. Now it is up to the bulk of the Amercian voters to have a little more courage and reason this thing out with a broader perspective than they may be used to viewing the world with.
Keep the conversations going with all those stubborn friends a family members that you know. It takes a toll on them over time and they start to think about your point of view in ways they never have before. Your words and conversations have a big impact on our future. Stay positive and supportive, they will at least be more understanding and less afraid for what it's worth.
Peace,

As far as the first black president... I'm no expert but I believe John Hanson wasn't actually black. There are some people who say that but I figure if there was anything factual it would be on wiki:

I have no concern about Obama's race whatsoever... My concern is the perceptions that "TAG" will have give to those that are less open minded about the current racial divide in this country. I think that if they hear and KNOW that Obama is also 50% White and raised by his white mother, and white grandparents, they will hopefully be more accepting of him.
Who knows, but I am sure that fact has helped a few people, but all too few know that it is a fact. His speech on race in America has certainly helped those facts come to light, so it will be helpful to continue to push his bi-racial profile before one or or the other. He is not just black, he is not just white, he is the face of what America has claimed to be all about since it inception yet we have not lived up to our own pledged ideals.
I am colorblind, in more ways than just racially. I am actually and physically red-green colorblind like so many other men in this world. But knowing that early on in my life, living within a mixed race southern community, and having to read crayons to be sure that I was using the right one for trees and such has always led me to be a bit more reluctant to judge things based on what I see at the surface.
I believe strongly that as time passes in this country, every following generation will be less and less color blind. There will of course be nay sayers, but how boring would this world be if we all agreed on everything.
As my blog title suggests, it's just a note, nothing of great importance.
As for the nuclear thing, I have probably read the same things you have, but I just keep an eye on it, since it is the one area that is still a bit to grey for me. Like I said, even if his connections in that industry turn out to be pretty broad and deep, it won't cost him my vote.
Thank you for your comment Jason.

From the Huffington Post:
A new memo out from the Clinton campaign:
"False Advertising: New Obama Ad Falsely Claims He Does Not Accept Money From Oil Companies
Phil Singer: "It's unfortunate that Senator Obama is using false advertising to explain why he can be trusted to do something about energy prices. Senator Obama says he doesn't take campaign contributions from oil companies but the reality is that Exxon, Shell, and others are among his donors. I wonder if they'll fix the ad."
A new ad by Sen. Obama running in Pennsylvania falsely claims that Sen. Obama does not accept money from the oil industry. In the ad, Sen. Obama says "I'm Barack Obama and I don't take money from oil companies or lobbyists and I won't let them block change anymore."
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Sen. Obama has received over $160,000 from the oil and gas companies. Two major bundlers for his campaign -- George Kaiser and Robert Cavnar - are oil company CEOs. Sen. Obama has accepted money from Exxon, Shell, BP, Chevron and just about every other major oil company. Just last month, Sen. Obama accepted another $8,400 from ExxonMobil, $12,370 from Chevron and $6,500 from British Petroleum.
In 2005, Sen. Obama voted for the Dick Cheney energy bill, which was written in secret with the oil industry. Hillary Clinton opposed Cheney's energy bill, has a plan to eliminate oil industry tax breaks, and would require oil companies to contribute to a $50 billion strategic energy fund to jumpstart research and investment in clean energy technologies."
My man doesn't lie!!!
I'm sure its more crap from HRC & Co., but would love to see an official response from BHO & Co.
Go get 'em, tiger!

I hope that Obama ignores them. Hillary has lost all credibility, and frankly, everyone is sick of all the back and forth.

Ignoring the claims doesn't help anyone. What I'd love Obama to do is gather together the hundreds or even thousands of people that represent the donations from "Oil Companies" in a commercial with a representative saying, "according to Hillary Clinton, WE represent 'Big Oil.'" "I'm a mother of three that gave $25.00 to Barack Obama - and Hillary says I'm part of the problem."

Look at this blog, my friend. This is a people-powered campaign. To insinuate that Obama is in the oil industry's pocket is more Clinton silliness. Obama's rules are no donations from lobbyists or PACs. CRP's records reflect that he practices what he preaches on this. Of course, most of Obama's donors work for somebody, and a few of them work for the oil industry. But that industry is not even listed in the top 20 givers to Obama, and if any of those donors think that a few hundred thousand dollars of donations out of $193 million are going to give the oil industry undue influence over Obama, they are completely fooling themselves.
Now, if you want to continue this debate, let's take a look at Hillary Clinton's CRP records and see what undue influence really looks like.

On Youtube, I found it in three parts (part 1 is the ladies chatting before he comes on)
Part 2:

Part 3:

Part 4:

If these links don't work, go to YouTube and search for THE VIEW OBAMA.
pe11201 posted the videos above, so I'd make sure you watch those. Someone else posted a video under a similar title & it was NOT Obama.
Good luck!
p.s. The man is so damned magnetic. You just can't help but like him.

According to the Federal Election Commission, the Obama campaign has received $8,190 from PACs in total for the entire campaign (2007 and 2008 until Feb 29th). Other than individual donations, it is the only source of funding which the campaign has received, amounting to 0.004% of the total $197,342,946.
Two names are dropped, implying that as CEOs, they are helping to bankroll his campaign. George Kaiser (owner of Kaiser-Francis) has not donated to Obama's campaign while Robert Cavnar of Mission
Resources has donated $2000 to the Edwards campaign on March 19th, 2007.
As one could probably guess, in each of the cases of the three oil companies, all contributions were made by individuals according to the FEC (with totals slightly different than those given by Clinton):
ExxonMobil: 14 individuals donating $8,350 in total
Chevron: 20 donating $11600
BP: 7 donating $6300
The issue of significance here is that PAC contributions have been made from the oil and gas industry, to whom have they gone. Of the $11,534,676, a full 30% (or $3,462,480) are for PACs while the rest is individual donations; however, 73% of the full total has gone to the
Republics while 27% has gone to the Democrats
during the 2008 campaigns.

I'm sure this ad is targeted at the working class of PA, probably the white rural areas too where Hillary supposedly has more support.
It's okay, but not great.
I know you're trying to focus on an issue that directly effects them, but... I dunno. It doesn't do much for me. I can't put my finger on it.
I'd focus more on tax cuts and fixing the foreclosure crisis.
And I'm always a fan of talking about your focus on governmental transperancy. I think straight talk and cuttin the crap is something the average joe can appreciate. No more BS smoke up the ***, just straight honesty.
One more, somewhat unrelated thing.
I hear a lot about you having more delegate, more states, and more of the vote. Awesome.
But there's another great advantage you have that's not mentioned enough.
Your grassroots support. Your Obama Army. LOL (I'm glad I'm not a paid part of the campaign or anything - I can get away with saying things like that.) Anyway, how many people have contributed now? 1 million+? How many calls have been made now by how many people?
I mean, I've donated, I post here semi-regularly now and I just started wearing a HOPE braclet I bought and put an Obama bumper sticker on my car and I'm a registered Florida Republican!
There aren't a lot of people doing anything that have supporters so fanatical they wear braclets showing their support!
I really feel this is a strength that should be more widely talked about to the superdels and ideally in the media.
And one more thing. Another challenge to reach x dollars or y donors or z calls by the end of the month wouldn't hurt. (Or perhaps all 3. That donate and have it matched plan I thought was especially awesome.) We, not as Obama supporters, but as Americans do well when we're given a challenge.
Keep it up Barack! I hope the bus tour is fun and a great success.
