Barack finished off the second day of the
"Road to Change"
by heading to the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania with Senator Casey.
He met with the bowlers, then bowled a frame, with the help of some locals.
That's all for Day Two of the
"Road to Change"
-- stay tuned for more coverage tomorrow!

The NY Times (HRC rag) published a scathing hit piece on Barack Obama, attacking him for his apparent lack of bowling skills. Barack needs to learn how to bowl! This is crucial to the race. How can we win the general election against McCain when Obama's throwing gutterballs?

Way to go, Fireman!
Kill 'em with kindness I say. And contributions in their honor. Ha!
And if kindness and contributions don't work, there's always humor. I like satire, myself:
Rambo's take on Hillary's Bosnia trip. It's HILLARYous! (yes, THAT Rambo)

Another war zone eyewitness account:

... She defused the bomb vest herself. Then she turned to his wounds. "She stopped my bleeding and saved my life. Chelsea donated the blood."
And my favorite, the NCAA Tournament if it were run by Hillary's campaign:
Link
Here's a sample, a la Florida and Michigan:
Marquette 74, Kentucky 66
Based upon a recalculation of the score that included shots sunk by the teams during the pre-game warm-up, the officials have determined that the Wildcats were, in fact, the winners of this game. The officials have given due consideration to Marquette's contention that NCAA rules provide that the only shots that count are those made during the game, and that both sides had agreed to abide by these rules, but, in light of changed circumstances, the NCAA has decided to ignore them.

That is okay, She needs to learn the differance between, Native Son's and Founding Fathers or Fore Fathers.
Yesterday at one of her speaches she was para phrasing the U.S. Constitution, in an attack against McCain, when she Say's We the few, by the few, for the few, then say's, I think our Native Son's had something else in mind.
Was that another misspeak or a mislead?
Yet, she has the gull to critize Obama on his bowling skills. Come on HRC, you need to learn American History again. I wonder what our founding fathers would have to say if they were in Philly now listening to you at a time when your trying to win PA. for the primary. I guess your still ducking those snipper rounds!
And, I am still waiting for you to be transperant and show us your Taxes, loan finance records, ear marks and phone bills. Maybe we should run a count down board on the Obama web site that shows when they were asked for to the time you actually show them. Time is running out, maybe we should force you to show them even after you loose the primary just so the American people can see you for who you really are.

Going against the right wing noise machine in the fall, Obama would do well to have a pit bull like Dean watching his back.

We are severely troubled by the Wal-Mart story |
Report to Admin

Theresa in Maine
Mar 30th 2008 at 4:56 am EDT
My husband and I are severely troubled by the story which we saw on NBC nightly news last night about the former Wal-Mart employee who was badly brain damaged when one of their trucks hit her. Apparently the truck's grill hit her in the head.
She's paralized from the neck down from what I can see, has NO memory, but is able to speak and cries a lot when her precious husband tells her again and again where she is and what happened. She's in a nursing home where she'll spend the rest of her sad life.
To make matters worse, she just lost a son in Iraq and every time she's reminded, the news is brand new to her and her grief begins again.
Her husband hlds down two jobs and visits when he can.
He persued a lawsuit against Wal-Mart, won the suit, but there's a clause or something where he has to give back the money to Wal-Mart for his settlement. I don't understand this, but he was saying he hoped they would have a heart. He now ows them several hundred thousand and she will not have the life time of care she needs.
Although there are very few stores to shop in here in Mid-Coast Maine, until Wal-Mart changes this situation WE WILL NOT STEP FOOT IN THAT STORE AGAIN.
Can you imagine having to find out every single day that your son has been killed, forget this unbearable news and then find out again?
Hillary worked on the Wal-Mart board for 6 year.
Hillary will you PLEASE STEP IN and address this problem?
It breaks my heart.

Keith Olbermann on Countdown had this story twice on his show last week. From what I gathered, this poor lady was hit by an 18 wheeler. Wal-Mart paid her medical and after she got a settlement of something close to a million dollars, and after everything was settled she wound up with about 417 thousand dollars. Wal-Mart then turned around and sued HER for 470 thousand dollars and won more than what she had. Wal-Mart took the money from her for insurance they had paid for her and left her broke. Five days later her son was killed in Iraq. This is so sad, once we finish with the Colbets School Project maybe we can get him to start a fund for her. She cannot remember that her son has been killed.

They had to get the $470,000 back from this poor family so they could give Hillary $12,000 last month which the Clinton's think has passed every ones attention because when Walmart was in the spotlight the campaign gave back the $5,000 donation but took the $12,000 donation last month from them.
She also took $140,000 from the crooked ex-lawyer who has been on trial for sexual harassment of 102 female employees over six years. Yeah, those Clinton women should be very proud of their choice because she is a woman. Pathetic!

You missed a vital part of the story- probably b/c NBC did not report that part. However, MSNBC did:
WALMART SUED THE ACCIDENT VICTIM, and took all the money she won FROM THE TRUCKING COMPANY. Walmart sued her for MORE THAN SHE'D obtained from the settlement. That's why she now owes them. And yes, she also lost her 18-yr-old son in Iraq.

I just read an article that indicated Barack had gone to a bowling alley in Altoona and bowled a frame. I have some advice for Barack...please, please, please do not do the polka....it will result in a photograph, albeit an embarassing photo, much like the Dukakis photo featuring our beloved candidate in a military tank(as opposed to some other kind of tank). What a disaster that was! Besides, Barack...you'll lose all of your street creds. Also, stay away from anything that remotely resembles an accordion...the reasons for this aversion are given above!

I don't think it got very wide circulation here in the US, but I strongly recommend that everyone watch the movie. The Sillary camp must be really stupid to think that Senator Obama would claim something like this that could be easily verified. Obviously, they don't care about being truthful about anything Obama, but merely want to muddy up the water for the audience that won't bother to fact check what they have to say. They are truly unbelievable and dangerous! They should be RENOUNCED and REJECTED absolutely!

Remember the pattern, folks. When HIllary does something naughty, then she immediately accuses Barack of the same thing, to try and take the focus off of herself and confuse the issue.
And in a way it works, because what happens is then the public doesn't believe either one of them.
And even if she is the one who shoots herself in the foot, it's still Barack, she convinces everyone, who is attacking her. And then when he defends himself against her attacks, they think he's just down in the gutter with her. And it turns out a wash.

The Billary only care about themselves or people who gives them money, a lot of it.
The Democratic party never won anything else but their presidency when they were in the White House. In fact the majority was lost in the house and in the senate during those years.
They will do anything to try to win. They never recognize mistake (even the vote for the war in Iraq) and they never apologize ... only if you can test a blue dress. They will easily call that not quitting.
We need change now.

Of course he's a professor! Hillary continues to stoop to new lows. Obama is a president we can trust. Honestly, no matter how morbid this may sound, I would rather have 4 more years of Bush before I ever vote for Hillary. At least with Bush I know what I'm getting. The desperation, attacks and lies coming from the Clinton's has all but undermined any credibility they once had with me.

One reason these attacks have often backfired on Clinton is because of the length of the process. Although we hear that the campaign is too long, and there is much merit in that argument, it is also true that the length of the process allows time for the "truth to put on it's shoes".
Whether NAFTAGATE, Bosnia lie, or law professor attack, what is amazing is that the truth does creep out, sometimes.. crawling and wounded.. but still get's out. As a result, the long campaign process does negate some of the advantages of mud slinging.
Obama's rebut, contrast, and discuss related issues in a positive way has been fairly effective (that structure really started as a result of the NAFTAgate attack).
So this attack, and the law's school's support of Obama's claim once again makes Clinton look "a wee bit silly".
The 'law professor' attack helps us raise the issue of who better understands and supports the constitution? who better believes in the rule of law, in following the rules? This is in contrast to Clinton, Bush and McCain (in fairness to McCain it's due to his support of Bush policies rather than specific McCain policies).
The challenge is to find ways to stay on message while rebutting and contrasting with Clinton. And looking ahead to McCain, a reexamination of that attack response structure is necessary. In addition, a more agressive campaign, that manages to stay fair in characterizing McCain's positions will be necessary. In that regard, I think Obama was wrong to use McCain's '100 year' remark out of context recently because 1) McCain could have taken a free shot at Obama over the Pastor issue, and declined, and 2) Mischaracterising McCain deprives us of an honest debate, thus is wrong.
Bottom line is will will continue to have increasingly desparate attacks from Clinton. The good news is that get easier to rebut, contrast, and get our message out.

Thanks to the MSM who have failed to cover or touch any of these situations that WE have known about for months, they almost made it!!! (That's why they had their friends in FL (Crist and the dems., and her supporter, the MI gov.) move up their primaries!! This election has already surpassed the crookedness of the 2000 election!!!!!!!!!!
They have suppressed info (and continue to do so), that had it been reported months ago, HRC would have been out of this race at least 2 months ago!! Look at how long the MSM waited to expose Bosnia-gate, Ireland-gate and how they haven't focused on her reluctance to release her taxes and other papers?
The Clintons want the power, but they NEED to back in the WH where they'll have more ability to control the investigative branches of the gov't to cover their questionable business practices, much like they did when they were in the WH before!! They and their friends have alot more to lose than just money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait and see!

Yes, it was her "poor me" attack on the media, as well as the fact that the media just wants this to go on and on forever.
Where do you think all of the donations in both camps are going now? Plus eyeballs mean ad revenue. They don't want Hillary to quit, so they give her a boost. It is just simple economics.
They are certainly not making money on boring old McCain. What is he doing now? "Fundraising for the general." Pretty boring from a viewer's perspective (but scary from ours).
Otherwise, they the poor MSM would have to go back to just generally regurgitating the AP newswire, having rehashes by boring talking heads with new laptop computer props, or (if FOX) having endless right-wing rant sessions for a dwindling cadre of angry, racist, middle-aged white men (not a great growth market).
Newspaper revenue from advertising has just plummeted. Don't forget, that these people need to have jobs too. They need another big scandal? How about, "Hillary sideswipes Obama's bus in a Chevy Suburban!" and then a chase scene with the PA highway patrol. They could replay that video for weeks.
I like Gwen on PBS Washing Week: "This is great -- full employment for us journalists." Of course, her niche audience would watch anyway, so she does not have to be so serious.
We have to have empathy for the poor MSM news people. They have to maintain their lifestyle and pay their kids' inflated tuition for Columbia's journalism program.

I have sworn off CNN, FOX, & MSNBC (except for Keith Olbermann) but I've been seeing these promos by people like Tim Russert and Andrea Mitchell going on and on about all the important issues in this country and that they are the "place for politics" where all these important issues will be discussed. Then when their shows finally air all we hear about is Reverand Wright, the race card, the gender card, Reverand Wright, the race card, the gender card, Reverand Wright, the race card, the gender card...

Yes, the poet captures the hope we have in Obama well, and our fears also.
It's as if we expect to be disappointed, yet hope that we are not. Very much like love.
I think Obama supporters, perhaps even more than Clinton supporters want to know any dirt on him. The most remarkable thing is that Obama has laid out the dirt on himself, smoking pot, etc. I think a lot of Clinton supporters may have the save fear that we do, namely a fear that Obama might let them down. This seems to pop up in the "do we really know him" arguments that I see on various blogs.
Obama is courageous. Obama supporters, for daring despite our cynicism born from a lifetime of being disappointed by our leaders are far more courageous. The long primary cycle and long campaigning, for all that is wrong with it, has helped us see who Obama really is, and is yet another blessing in disguise. Every Clinton attack that is exposed as myth or a lie strengthens the ability of people to accept this once in a lifetime candidate.
And the pressure we put Obama under must be intense. The pressure of not wanting to let your supporters down has no parralel and handling that pressure so well is another 'test' passed.
anyway, i ended up hijacking the post.. i loved the poet's words.

The tie WHILE bowling isn't right.. but he could have taken it off.. bowled and then put it back on afterwards.. he doesn't play basketball in a suit, does he?
I agree with you that trying to hard to look like a local doesn't fly. Would not work with me, and would undermine his message of sincerity and seriousness. Immitation can be a fine line between respecting or mocking, and only when it's viewed as respect is it the sincerest form of flattery.
Does Obama adopt something from his encounters with people, does he learn from them and make what he learned part of himself? That is respect and flattery much more appreciated than trying to be one of the locals.

Perhaps, but remember when Barack used to never where a tie? He always wore a shirt with an open collar? Somebody must have told him to put a tie on sometime during the campaign and it's just stuck. My husband wears a tie all the time and it's kind like wearing a wedding ring. You don't even think twice about it. So perhaps his staff should have had a bit more presence of mind to suggest he remove it. But it doesn't bother me. As these press stops go, they're pretty quick in and out and I can imagine that he just got caught up in the moment.

I'm here in PA and I think he is doing a great job, especially just stopping in places where one wouldn't expect to see him.
He did something that I think people in PA will remember him for today. He was apparently talking about the lack of jobs in the area and told the audience that he could not say that their old jobs would ever come back. He went on to say that he would try to create new jobs with decent wages. I'm sure that his honesty and unwillingness to promise something just to get votes made an impression on the audience.
The shirt and tie are OK, too. If he came in there all 'ready' to bowl, I think that he'd look odd.
I hope that he can spend more time in PA. The more people get to know him - the more they'll like him.

Patricia,
There is a saying that the commitments easiest given are the easiest broken and the commitments most reluctantly given are the most reluctantly broken.
I think people want someone that will do their best for them, but a refusal to promise something they can't deliver is not necessarily viewed as a negative, but rather appreciated for it's sincerity.
We would be fooling ourselves to think our nations problems, and specifically the jobs that were in PA will come back. Anyone promising that is selling smoke. What we need is someone that is going to work towards real solutions, not fantasy or past nostalgia. Having lived in PA for approximately a decade, I fully expect the people in PA to favor Obama as they get to know him.
With that being said, Obama needs to be careful not to tire out the 'won't make you the promise...' line as repetition would make it resonate as less sincere.

I know we're belaboring (sp) this.. but I have wondered this. Why does a president always have to wear a suit and day at all times in order to appear presidential???
I mean, the great thing about Barack is that he comes from and is "regular" people. When he's on tour there are times when its appropriate to wear his slammin suit and tie - but then what is wrong with going into a bar or bowling with some jeans on? He is afterall.. HUMAN.
As commmon folk myself, I would be thrilled to see him not afraid to look like common folk. I for one dont think just because ur a professional that you cant ever relax a bit. I work in corp america and love to come home and chill.
Im just saying that I know he cant do a wardrobe change at every site and all of that.. but Im sure the common folk in PA and everywhere would love to see him in his suit and tie at a rally/townhall and then when the "work day" is over, to chill a bit and throw on his jeans and sit and have a drink with the regular folk. I think Obama is one who can really do that. And it wouldnt make him any less presidential because he's brilliant no matter what he has on.
My two cents.

I just saw the most AMAZING statistics in a March 24 Rasmussen Reports survey. Here are the results:
49% of primary voters say they will vote for Senator Clinton while 39% say they will vote for Senator Obama. THIS IS NOT THE MOST AMAZING PART! The most amazing part is in the details! Check this out:
Clinton Obama
Very Favorable 38% 39%
Somewhat Favorable 30% 32%
Somewhat Unfavorable 18% 16%
Very Unfavorable 13% 11%
Not sure 1% 2%
So, to be clear, most people surveyed say that they have a more favorable view of Senator OBama and a more unfavorable view of Senator Clinton. Yet, they are still voting for her?

Remember the Clinton years were only good because of the telecom boom that was created and is now in the dumps. The same has happened with the Bush economy -home sales with all the sub prime loans. Bill did not save the day-in fact NAFTA is part of why we are turning into a third world country. The Clintons support big corporations overseas-they will be no boom for the economy at all.

The Short-Run: Many Clinton supporters don't realize that the Clinton years were only good in the SHORT-RUN.
But, in the long-run Bill Clinton's economic policies were bad for the middle-class!
He deregulated too much and was too pro free-trade (NAFTA)
In the long-term, the Clintons' Republican style economic policies have "come home to roost."

You know I hear allot of peopl say those were good years during the Clintons, etc. And people do it for all Presidents. But when you come right down to it, it is a reflection of the previouse presidents doing. Think about the Regan years, he took over and things were bad when he got in there but by the end the country was doing good, then Bush Senior, he changed nothing and it just stayed steady, then Clinton, by the end of his second term the economy was just starting to slow down. Then Bush JR. got in there and he was more intrested in avenging his father, then this country and things just kept going down and down. who ever is the next president for at least the first two years of there candacey things will not get better cause they are inheriting the problem of the other president. He would have to make such drastic changes to kick the economy in the butt to get it going again. But one thing the Clintons did manage to do during the time in the White House was to embarrase the United States and turn the White House into a brothel!

Philly will be ours because Obama has the support of West Philly's famous son a - The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (Will Smith) and do not be suprised to see him on an event before the primary

The up side: Barack is leading in Philly and will probably have a big win there and will mean an even bigger embarassment for Nutter for siding with the wrong candidate.

However, I do think at the convention - IF GOD FORBID - the Supers Go with HRC - I think what would really make a statement would be for all of O's supporters to turn around and leave the building in a calm manner. It would make more of a statement , than any riot . O supporters dont want to be viewed as crazy rioters - we want to deal with this with the respect and dignity of our candidate.

Robyn,
Your calm exit suggestion is a fine one. Especially since the party needs Obama much more than Obama needs the party.
Obama would be the strongest independent candidate to date, and despite Clinton's words to the contrary has just a good chance of winning as an independent. Obama supporters are not supporting an empty suit. We are not sheep to be assigned a leader to support. So the party should pay good attention that it's realy a done deal already or risk being relegated to a minor fringe party.
So there is no need to vent frustration if the party fails to fall in behind Obama.

Nutter (Philly's fairly new mayor) is close with Ed Rendell ('Fast Eddie,' Governor) and both are pro-Clinton, as are many other older PA Democratic politicians. Rendell and company have been promoting Hillary here for awhile. But, Mr. Obama has a very wide appeal and I suspect that he may do better here versus what some have predicted.
Rendell's pressure on voters may backfire in that they may not like being told who they are expected to vote for, in advance. I also saw at least one article that said people were becoming impatient with waiting to see both candidates because they understand that the PA vote is important this time around.
Needless to say, I would like to see Mr. Obama take the state - by a wide margin.
The more Mr. Obama can spend time in PA - the better.
Chris Matthews is supposed to be doing a Hardball show one night this week with Mr. Obama (no Hillary or Bill) from West Chester University (close to Philadelphia.) I thank Mr. Matthews for the effort.

We are going to go ahead and try to make up a campaign cookbook as a fundraiser. We could sell them at events, garage sales, online, etc, all they way through to the general election. If you would like to help us out you can send me your family recipes (and any story connected with them that you would like to share) and I will see that they get into the book and give you all the credit of course. This is a grassroots cookbook-nothing fancy. But please--send only your own recipes that you love, grew up with, etc., not ones straight from another cookbook. (We may be making a CD rather than a traditional cookbook, and/or creating a downloadable version-this will save on costs)
I have already received many recipes and stories tonight. A caterer contacted me and she is willing to help edit our book. A technical person has volunteered to help us with creating the downloadable version and help us generally with that end of things.
I think we can create a pretty good book with all the talent on this blog! I also think it will be a nice memento of this whole experience we have had creating this Obama family.
If you would like to participate, have a good family recipe(not from a previously published cookbook!) or have helpful ideas just send me an email.
Thanks!

Nanci,
this is when you know that he has not lived a pampered/privileged life or that he thinks himself to be better than others because of the life he lives now-
my favorite photo is that of him buying some snacks at the Hy-Vee grocery store in one of the Iowa towns he stopped in along the way
the other is when he was in a Dairy Queen eating ice cream and took a napkin to wipe up some melted ice cream he had dripped on the counter-

You're absolutely right about that CK. I'm just finishing his autobiography and am blown away by his life story.
He is a regular guy and he gets it. It astonishes me at times to think of him in the White House as of January 2009. He'll be the most regular person in the WH since Andrew Jackson and then some. It is so encouraging to me.
Thanks for sharing your stories. I think that's what touches me so much about him bowling with the regular peeps. He gets it somehow even though he can't bowl. He's just a regular guy out there bowling even though he can't bowl. I can't bowl either by the way....I suck at it.
His bowling has won me over more than anything for some reason. I was already sold, but this sealed the deal somehow. Does that make sense ya'll.
I know many of you have had him come to your states, but somehow it's special when he comes to my state. And he's getting down with my peeps...it's special and it touches me at a very deep level. I can see why all y'all in Iowa voted for him and got this wave going. Thank you for that.

Your point is right on target in that what he does, and where he spends his time is important to people. it also helps people feel more comfortable with such an extrodinary candidate while getting our message out.

And if you look in the back ground you see one of his posters that say, Ready on day one, How come HRC don't get on him for plagerizing, also he borrows a line from the Gov. of Calf. wife.

I arrived early, and immediately was asked to make phone calls. Okee Dokee, I'm a supporter who is ever so relectant to get on the phone. I absolutely HATE getting solicitation calls. But I did it last Saturday, and it wasn't so bad, so I agreed and got on it right away. I've been volunteering for Obama for 4 weeks now. It was quite a madhouse for the last several weeks. This week everything seemed much more organized. It got right to it and ended up making over 70 calls to Democrats in Bucks County. I felt invigorated and proud of my accomplishments today on the phone. Lots of folks not a home, but I left a message. For those that were at home, I felt I made a difference. I am so proud to be a part of this movement. For those timid about making calls, I say GO FOR IT! Julius, our fearless leader at the Doylestown Obama Headquarters convinced me to make calls last week, and I was very comfortable doing so this week. My 3 hours every Saturday isn't much, but I'm glad to do my part to help. Won't you join me and get involved?

Clinton's campaign manager tied to subprime crisis |

This is a very well-written and interesting article. It points out the fact that Hillary Clinton's own campaign manager served on the board of directors of a corporation (Delta Financial) that engaged in aggressive lending practices that ended up hurting people impacted by our downturn in the real estate market.
I think it's important that we understand the impact, but not condemn Clinton.
It is interesting, though, because many of Clinton's campaign staff have spoken out in criticism of Obama's campaign finance chair, Penny Pritzker. Pritzker was the chair of a bank board which had a similar financial downturn in the 2001-02.
All of this demonstrates a need for more regulation in our banking and mortgage industry. I hope that the Dodd-Frank legislation approved by Obama and Clinton will get passed soon! The legislation will allow for the FHA to get more involved in offering loans to help prevent foreclosures and stabilize our real estate market.

As far as Hillary goes, we all know she will spin and twist the facts (or the rumors) to her favor in any way that deems fitting to her... and when the ball lands in her side of the court and she is put on the spot: "The people don't want to hear about this, they just want to talk about issues." (Hillary when asked about her Bosnia lies).

Wow! I have been selling Real Estate for 17 years, I have advised my clients of my opinions in regards to loans my entire career. This is one of the companies I regarded as predatory. It just blows me away that I keep finding connections to either Hillary or Bill in so many companies whose business practices I despise & I have to take issue with the AA target. Is this really still happening all these years after the civil rights movement?

Wow.
Thanks for sharing that with me, because that really helps put it all in perspective.
Delta Financial served a lot of lower-income folks in New York, according to the article. The article suggests that Maggie Williams bought into the (false) idea that this would help bring more people into the middle class.
Maybe Maggie Williams helped to moderate them a little bit and make them more ... how should you say ... ethical?
I don't know - all I know is what the story said and what you're telling me now.
Thanks again! It's always good to hold things up to the light and see what they really are.

Thanks to the generosity of many who donated their valuable frequent flyer miles, we sent 28 out-of-state volunteers to Texas and Ohio, and so far have another 21 going to Pennsylvania.
This means ***1,225,000 MILES*** have been donated to date!!!
DONORS: It takes 25,000 miles for a ticket. So – who’s got at least 25,000 on the same airline which they’d like to donate toward making sure Barack Obama is our next President?
Step right up — I’m getting requests almost daily from volunteers who want to help but can’t afford the airfare. Donate now, please, so we can get these people on the ground where they’re most needed. We have to work harder in PA!
VOLUNTEERS: If you want to spend a week or more in PA, but can’t afford to pay your own way, contact me and I’ll try to match you with an airline ticket.
Please call me at 714-536-6104 California time. (Don’t reply on the blogs; I probably won’t see your response.)

I'm not working class, but I grew up bowling in PA and I know it will reach a lot of people, especially the working class in PA. I have relatives in Altoona, so I totally appreciate him doing this. It reaches me at a visceral level and bowling isn't even that big a part of my growing up. It was always there in the background, but somehow it resonates at a viseral level. Way to go O!!!!!!

Our health care system is failing miserably.
Today my friend Cathy, a wife and mom of a three year old, died of breast cancer at the age of 33.
She's one of the more than 41,000 women in the US that will die of breast cancer this year.
Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women ages 15 to 54 and more than 11,100 young women like Cathy and Me will be diagnosed in this year.
There is still NO CURE for Breast Cancer, although the Science is almost there...
There have been so many important breakthroughs in research that with the proper investments those breakthroughs can lead to new treatments and maybe we can even see a cure and hopefully in my lifetime.
We need a visionary leader like Barack who can bring people together, repair our health care system and end the health insurance companies calling so many shots, and the fed's incredible deficit spending on the Iraq War & its consequences.
Please Donate increments of $3 or $33 in honor of my dear 33 year old friend Cathy who passed away tonight.
Cathy was a smart, sassy and beautiful woman who worked as a Physician's Assistant who was angry at our broken healthcare system after she saw it fail her. Despite her disease being caught early and treated aggressively with all the latest treatments at the #1 Cancer Center in the USA she still was not able to survive the disease or make it to her five year mark.
She lived in Texas and I like to think that she waited to see that Obama won the Texas Caucus before passing.
<
She knew like I do that Barack has the integrity, incredible smarts and unique ability to get things done and set our country's priority straight.
So in honor of Cathy from Texas, PLEASE DONATE TO BARACK in my fundraising page in increments of $3.
Yes We Can!

MIDNIGHT - FINAL UPDATE OF NIGHT - We're all heading to bed at midnight, but here's some numbers to consider:
Senator Obama is still ahead, but we won't project anything. Our latest report was from Tarrant County, SD 12(108 Obama, 84 Clinton), but there is still more from Tarrant and Collin County out, not to mention half of the state (albeit mostly smaller counties).

I immediately turned my thoughts back to the campaign and wondered "I wonder what kind of mess we have in Texas?" So hear I sit, on a Saturday night, at nearly midnight with fellow Obama-fanatics! I love it!!! :)
I was relieved to see the updates, sad to hear of the 12 hour convention marathons some had to endure, but thanks team Obama in Texas for being organized and dedicated.

BOR has closed down for the night. Here's the final tally, with 72% of the delegates allocated:
56.03% Obama
43.97% Clinton
----
My analysis of the details:
Obama 3,106 delegates
Clinton 2,437 delegates
10 Tarrant, 312 delegates - Obama favored
7 Harris, 196 delegates - Obama favored
4 Jefferson, 78 delegates - Obama favored
8 Collin, 163 delegates - Obama favored
30 Collin, 17 delegates - Obama favored
26 Bexar, 210 delegates - Clinton favored
21 Bexar, 40 delegates - Clinton favored
Of the 2,106 delegates remaining:
766 are in large districts favored by Obama
250 are in large districts favored by Clinton
801 are in relatively small districts, generally favoring Clinton
289 are state superdelegates
- The large districts should swing 60%+ for the favored canididate (example, Tarant-9 was 75% Obama), and the delegates split proportionately
- The small districts favor Clinton, BUT, it's hard to get a significant lead in even-numbered counties. For example, if there are 2 delegates, you need to get 85%+ to get both; so a 70% win = 1 delegate each. The smaller the county, the higher the threshold.
- The superdelegates can vote as they wish
Short version: It will probably be +9 for Obama.
- For +11, we would need exceptional results in Collin, Tarrant, and Harris - unlikely
- +7 is very improbable
- +5 is almost impossible
- Win is guaranteed - we only need to win 1/4 of the remaining delegates to win.

This is a campaign fraud case going back to HRC's Senate run.
The trial date is set for April 2008.
Why isn't the anyone asking about this.
This involves PA Governor Edd Rendell.
The Clintons are trying to cover this up.
If this was ANYONE but the Clintons this would be ALL OVER THE NEWS.

Jessica, I really think you need to leave this alone. HQ no doubt knows about it and are choosing to not get into it.
Let's keep the campaign about the issues. When this has been proven, if it amounts to anything, then it will come out. Until then, better to just have Barack talk about the issues and focus on McCain. REally. This stuff is all too distracting and just turns people off. They don't get into the nitty gritty, they just hear the tone, and tune it out.
When this does come out, it's important that it not come out from Barack's campaign. Let the media figure it out for themselves. Barack is doing just fine. He doesn't need to destroy hillary. She's doing a fine job of that all by herself.

The MSM isn't arbitrarily covering up this issue. I'm fairly certain that they have been issued an informal gag order by persons whom we can probably guess with great accuracy.
I've brought this question up to MSM contacts but the response is dead silence, emphasis on dead.
I do appreciate those who post here with updates on the case. I know I am interested and perhaps some former HRC supporters who come here would like to know more. I doubt there is anything on the other web site about it....!

I respect the comment suggesting we leave well enough alone. The truth is....there IS a media ban on this topic, as least as far as mainstream, much like Prince Harry, which got leaked anyways....but you can bet this WOULD NOT be the case if it was Barack involved.
Do you really believe it was a coincidence that the Rezko Trial just HAPPENED to start on March 3rd the night before the Primary?
That the NAFTA leak against OBAMA wasn't staged? The media also will not let the American citizens know that he was in Canada on March 1st, 3 days before the OH/TX/VT/RI primary while Hillary was in NY on SNL. He raised over $14 million dollars that night (Canadian Dollars) supposedly for his library. He was with NAFTA mining mogul, Frank Giustra. People in Canada are saying that he asked Frank (major ties to govt) to "slow down Obama's momentum") I find it ironic that right after he signs the NAFTA bill into law, he partners with the two richest men in Canada and Mexico (Frank Giustra & Carlos Slim)
Link
Bill Clinton in Toronto on March 1st
*********************
Link
Clinton and Giustra (Can Govt - NAFTA)
************************
Do you think Wright was a coincidence knowing that Hillary talked to Schieffer?
They call in favors. It's that simple and I believe she will do the same just days before April 22nd.
She is currently DODGING THE LAW, her lawyers refusing to accept the subpoena for a hearing on April 25, 2008....her and Ed Rendell are in hot water!!! THe media ban is also protecting Larry King, Mike Wallace, Chelsea, Cher, Elton John...etc...
Link
This link talks more about her "misspeaking" and the media ban, and the massive efforts to bring it to light.
And lastly, this video talk about Ed Rendell and how Hillary will have to testify under oath in August before the convention

YES, the USA of all races can handle it. The once greatist country can become that again.
Now is our time!
For we have a choice in this country. We can accept a politics that breeds division, and conflict, and cynicism.
We can do that.
But if we do, I can tell you that in the next election, we’ll be talking about some other distraction. And then another one.
And then another one. And nothing will change.
This union may never be perfect, but generation after generation has shown that it can always be perfected.
