On Sunday, August 19, Barack Obama participated in the ABC News Democratic Presidential Debate at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Staff, interns, and volunteers gathered at the Des Moines office at 2:30 AM before the debate to get pumped and head out to set up our rally space. We were the first group into the parking lot just behind the designated candidate areas, and we organized to make sure there was enough room for all our volunteers to rally. To read the full blog post about the pre-rally set up, click here.
At 6:00 AM, the rally officially began and over 100 volunteers and our staff and interns cheered their hearts out for over two hours to support Barack Obama. Leading the cheers were our own version of the Drake Bulldog and the Isiserettes. After cheering for a couple of hours, it was finally time to watch the debate. Volunteers packed into Planet Sub to bond and watch Senator Obama's outstanding performance. To read the full blog post about the rally, click here.
