Here is the letter I wrote to Joe to welcome him:

I believe that Barack Obama is destined to be president and will be an integral part of healing the policies that have weakened our economy, cost too many American lives, and fractured our whole country into a vulnerable, broken constituency.
It is extremely crucial that Barack Obama lead the Democrats to victory in November. Now I had heard that Joe Biden was a hard-working representative along the lines of Ted Kennedy. So if Barack and his team want Joe Biden, and if he trusts him, then that is enough for me.
I have supported Barack right from the start. His integrity, and his truthful, measured, thoughtful approach gives me such hope and courage to speak out to support him. I trust him, his decisions and his judgement.
So I am going to try to extract from you a solemn pledge. Repeat after me: I, Joe Biden, promise to do everything in my power to secure the presidency for Barack Obama, the hopemonger, truth-seeker, brilliant thinker, hard-worker, honorable servant of the people, so help me God.
Promise it to the American people and promise it to me,Joe, because it is such a significant election, such a time of turmoil and trepidation in our land today, that nothing but extreme loyalty and steadfastness will do.
I almost feel that the task at hand to help all of the people like us is so overwhelming and will be so demanding, that it will need a brilliance, youth, vitality, and concentration that only, ONLY Barack can provide. For God's sake, we need someone who is vital and youthful and empathetic. I won't start about John McCain except for the fact that he does not possess the faculties or the patience, or inclusive approach or the empathy or even the mental sharpness and acuity that is needed now. We are on the cusp of losing it all - of losing the strength that has underlined our whole history - the history of our whole country - and only the best and the brightest will do. That is Barack. And that is now you, Joe.
In closing, we are depending on you. We take it on with you, Joe. We are your supporters and your stalwart admirers who will help lift you up like we have lifted Barack. God bless you and God bless America.

The Latino Community is large and strong here in California. It has ALWAYS been the Democratic Party that has stood for and with them---from the days of Cesar Chavez to now.
The thought that the gop offers them anything other than patronism is astounding to me.
Latinos make up a large portion of our elected offiocials. This is NOT because of anything the republicans have ever done for them!
The Latino community will be out in force in November and they already are a large part of many of our local volunteer OBAMA groups.

As a non-Latino I was wondering if someone could explain to me why the Latino support differs in different states.

In states like TX Obama has only 5 points over McCain with Latino support....

Overall nationally I read Obama has 44 points on McCain with the Latinos..3X more supporters then McCain... (Obama 66, McCain 22, Undecided 12)....

Why is Obama's support lower in state's like TX?

What states is Obama having a much smaller lead with latinos..

What can Obama do to win the Latino vote in state's like Texas?

If he gets the latino numbers in TX to meet the national numbers he would be up actually several points in the state of Texas and could contest the state...With a strong voter registration drive in TX he could sustain a large lead....

Can someone also provide links to Latino numbers in different states.

What does it matter? My brother served in the US military and now works for the government. His life has been nothing but service to this country. So because he is Hispanic-American that label somehow makes him less so?

I don't think so.

I'm not too concerned about semantics. The hyphenated Americanism is merely a reflection of the cultural backgrounds many groups hold on to in this country. It isn't railing against America - its recognizing its cultural and ethnic diversity.

It all depends on how its used and rpesented of course.

As for our society being colorblind, come work at my office for a day and tell me it really is. You can't. It is pretty amazing that a minority is a presidential candidate with a shot at winning.

Something that must not be ignored is that JFK, RFK and MLK all had great aspirations. But they were cut short because of God's hate of adultery. He hates it so much that He made it one of the Ten Commandments! John McCain is and was an adulterer. The media decided to squash it; act like it never happened. Favoritism for McCain obviously. But I have not forgotten. As far as I know, Obama is not an adulterer. God lets us do our thing, campaigning and voting and such and then He gives us who He wants to lead us. Not my words. They are in the Bible! So the chances of McCain becoming president are slim and none because God doesn't like ugly, which adultery is! If McCain were to win as far back as I can remember this would be the first time a known adulterer would be allowed to go into the White House as president. They sin may have been done after they got in, but not before.
