I am so disappointed in the Junior Senator from Illinois. Here I am thinking he is really going to change the way Washington does business and the first chance he gets he lets Washington get the best of him. I am a first-time donor to any political campaign--I've contributed $80 so far and was committed to contributing a lot more. I cannot, however, contribute anymore to Senator Obama financially if he will not stand up against the Telecoms in an effort to uphold the Constitution. Senator Obama has become an instant role model to me and my family. He has paved the way for African Americans in this country to rise to the highest level of leadership. I will continue to support him, but the level of enthusiasm will be tempered if he does not stand by his word and oppose FISA.

As a devoted and dedicated supporter of Barack, I am deeply concerned with this turn of events regarding FISA. Sen. Obama must not cave on this issue, to do so could threaten everything that he and all of us have worked so hard to achieve.
Please call the campaign, write emails and encourage him to return to the strong stance he once had against this legislation. I believe that he cannot afford to compromise on this issue or his credibility as the candidate of change will be ruined.
Please respond to this situation instead of reacting. As a new player in the Washington game, he will make mistakes, it is human to err. We cannot afford to withdraw our support so quickly. Instead we must do all that we can to make him see the devestation this could wreak on all that he has done to this point and could do in the future.

Dear Friends,
Has anyone else noticed Obama leaning to the right lately? One blogger even went so far as to call it a "rightward lurch."

I have been uncomfortable with some aspects of Obama's platform for a while. I believe in moderation, but not on privacy. When Obama spoke about FISA, I was upset that he dissed my right to privacy in deference to the telecom corporations.

And why on earth does Obama's "Energy Plan" STILL call for support of nuclear energy?

We need to remind Obama and his campaign what we want. His campaign needs to know how strong his progressive base truly is.
Enter the Obama Escrow Fund: This is a way for us to collectively show our commitment to progressive causes. By pledging donations to the Obama Escrow Fund, we show our strength to encourage Obama to stay with us. The enclosed email explains it in detail.
Give no money: Just make a pledge. After giving $100 directly to Obama's campaign last week, I decided to pledge $300 today to the Escrow Fund. I hope you'll consider doing the same.
Show your strength - ask for real change!

Thank you,
