Senator Obama, it is time for you to stop standing by idly while Conservatives define you. You have been under attack since you entered this race, but you are falling into their trap by moving toward the center. When you began, you mobilized the masses by running on a campaign credo of change, but the Republicans are now branding you a "typical politician" as you try to make good with swing voters across America. STOP! Please!!! People like me saw your candidacy as one of hope for a new direction. We believed you when you said you would have our troops out of Iraq in 16 months. We believed you when you said that you would resist the FISA Amendments if the Telecoms were granted immunity. We believed your message. We believed your vision. Most importantly, Senator Obama we believed you. Now, as you move toward the center in an effort to attract "swing" voters, many of us are beginning to feel disaffected with the political process. What happened to the leader who was going to bring about change in Washington? Where is the Junior Senator who promised to listen to the voices of America and respond to our cries for help? Why are you abandoning the very people who put you in the position you are in? If we wanted politics as usual we would have nominated Hilary Clinton. But we want CHANGE. We want real change. Senator Obama, we want the kind of change that will make America a "more perfect Union." You will continue to inspire people whether you adhere to the political noise demanding that you move to the center or stay true to the principles and policies that mobilized people like me. Either way, we are all grateful for your candidacy and your leadership. We only ask that you do not forget from whence you came. Remember how you got where you are now. Whatever you do, please continue to be the man who inspired a nation and responded to people's hunger for change.
