This weekend we shattered all previous call records, making a staggering one million calls using our online call tool and another three million calls at Last Call for Change phonebanks across the country. Thank you to everyone who helped put us over the top.
Jon Carson, our National Field Director, just recorded a message for all of you who helped us achieve these record-breaking numbers:
For all of you making countless calls and those considering picking up the phone, Jon explained where these calls fit into our Get Out The Vote operation:
Every one of these calls being made are doing two things: First, they are allowing our supporters out there – so many first time voters, new registrants – to know exactly what they need to do on Tuesday to vote for Barack Obama; where their polling location is, what information and identification they need to bring with them, the hours they’re open. Critical information to get these new voters that are going to win this election for us to the polls.The other thing that all these calls have done coming into these battleground states is to allow literally hundreds of thousands of volunteers in battlegrounds to focus on knocking doors.
