I missed a lot of it as well. Goolesby (sp) did some speaking on PAYGO. There were quite a few questions on the detainee in New York, some health care stuff and the rest was yada, yada, etc.

I'm with my family for some time away, but I wanted to write and share some exciting news.

This week, Change Congress scored a major victory against U.S. Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) after he fell victim to what I call "Good Souls Corruption" -- good people trapped in a broken campaign-finance system they refuse to fix.

Ben Nelson probably hates us right now -- or at least me. But that's OK, it was worth it. Here's what happened.

Nelson has received over $2 million from health and insurance interests who oppose President Obama's public health insurance option. Those companies fear competition. 71% of rural voters support it.

Who did Nelson side with? You guessed it -- in May, he sided with the insurance interests against the citizens of Nebraska, calling the public option a "deal breaker."

So Change Congress launched $10,000 of online ads, letting Nebraska voters know about Nelson's special-interest money. We also sent 3,000 direct-mail pieces to Democratic donors throughout the state. This generated state and national news stories for over a week (and apparently freaked Nelson out).

After an intense 11-day battle with Nelson, he's now publicly "open" to the public option -- and yesterday, he made more news by saying he won't join a filibuster of Obama's plan. One of our local supporters even got a personal phone call from the Senator yesterday, during which Nelson tried to explain away his special-interest contributions!

This campaign is a model for our ongoing anti-corruption work. But to replicate this success, I need your help. Can you please consider chipping in to help us take our show on the road?

Ben Nelson was actually the second in our "Good Souls Corruption" campaign. Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) was the first -- we successfully called him out for siding with special-interest contributors and made him react as well.

As Mother Jones nicely put it:

"Maybe the reason members of Congress are responding so defensively is that CC is striking a little too close to home. Apparently members of Congress are shocked by the nerve-the nerve!-of people who tell them that taking huge amounts of money from the industries they're in charge of regulating reeks of corruption."

Exactly right. And we can't stop in Nebraska.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Cmte., discussed his views on health care legislation now being debated in Congress. He is the among the Senate's strongest proponents of a single-payer, government-financed health care system, and has introduced the Senate's only single-payer health care plan. S. 703, The American Health Security Act.

Though Bernie is in favor of single payer, he admits on this show that it is not the issue. Rather, he says the grass roots should demand public option.

He was great this morning. Here's a video stream of Bernie's appearance this morning on CSPAN's Washington Journal.

From past experience, I've found writing individual letters and faxing them is a more effective way to get attention for the cause. Emails and petitions are quickly deleted or filed, regardless of the number of signatures.

I would suggest you spread the word that everyone write a letter, even if it is a one liner, and send it by fax to the powers that be. It drives them nuts when the fax machine is dumping millions of HCR requests. They quickly realize the people are not going to accept the "norm".

Make sure to ask for a reply.

Take a deep breath Isack. remember when a situation arise with the Pirates who hold the captain captive and it seamed that nothing was spoken quite in depth with the Obama administration.
But we found out in the end President Obama kept his cool and gave the order after diplomacy didn't work for the great seals to take the pirates out. and they did. Think about that. President Obama cool under pressure and calculating with carefulness.

It is all about oil, period. This is the only poker game in town, in the world. Everything else is a side table somewhere in a basement somewhere.

Here in Arizona there is enough solar energy to produce easily enough energy for 25 million homes. What is the hold up you ask? People and politics driven by the Huge, Huge coal lobby.

The very first cars were electric. GM killed the electric car...and now we can't expect GM to do anything else than stay in bed with Big Oil.

It is a sad state of affairs. And, unfortunately, one that President Obama has little control over in the big picture.

I am optimistic at times...but other times I just shrug.

Time to end her CONFUSION!

Please rethink your position on including public option in any health care reform. We, the people expressed our firm belief in the change on which President Obama campaigned. The grass roots rose on November 4, 2008 to express our wishes. Many grass roots efforts are coming together around the country. To a person, there is unanimous agreement that if not single payer, then at least public option is a must.

The same folks who voted for a major health care reform are garnering our forces for the upcoming elections. We are closely monitoring the positions of those who represent us. As we did on that November 4th, we are prepared to mandate our interests in the voting booth.

I checked her site and found nothing about her support for the bill. She does has information relative to a bill she introduced for parity in health costs for men and women.

It was an interview with David Shuster MSNBC about an hour and a half ago. David confronted her directly about signing onto the Blue Dog "Statement of Priniciples Opposing the PUBLIC OPTION". She tried to backtrack with "gobbly-gook" and speaking out of both sides of her mouth. But ..., she did SIGN ON!!!

Looked up her Campaign donations & this woman is HEAVILY supported by UNIONS for her Campaign donations. I wonder if she has any of those Health Care Workers in her jurisdiction, you know the ones having their WAGES reduced from $12 to $8 an hour. I wonder if they can afford HEALTH CARE?

I have a suggestion though.... get rid of those crutches (I know your arms are aching after the first day.) Get a wheelchair, preferably a motorized one. They can be great fun and you can elevate your leg to decrease the likelihood of swelling.

This company ZERO POINT MOTORS(Link) is planning on moving this new technology to the US next year(Link). So this got me thinking, why doesn't your administration PARTNER GM with ZPM? IT would make the auto industry cool again, and it would create such a BUZZ that many people would want to buy a car that actually has Zero emission! Please think about it, we have the plants here, we have the workers, and we have a younger generation of customers such as myself who would love to drive these kinda cars, while helping our auto industry, our communities. This is a WIN WIN! please tell me I AM NOT ALONE, and that you do know about this technology. The Air Car has a place along side Plug in Electric/ Full electric/ Biofuels/Fuel cell/ Solar cars.

Yes, it does. Actually basically like anything new, they do not have fundings like major companies do have(honda/toyota/mercedes etc...). What they are doing in france and Australia is that they are making them for either only TAXI CABS, or for "Lifters" in factories.

Basically it is a new technology and there needs to be competition so that they can design styles and variety. They are gonna be CHEAP TO GET (ABOUT $18,000). I have tries soo many times since last year to bring it up to ED, but no luck. People make the silly jokes that "it is all Air". I am like are you stupid or what? "The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee released a 615-page health care reform bill Tuesday, but details on the the most contentious issues, such as the public insurance option and employer mandate, were left out for now.

"There are some gaps. But there are no gaps in our determination, my determination and that of my colleagues to have a public option, pay-or-play or biologics," Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) said this morning.

"But I left those areas open for discussion not because they are open for some sort of decision on whether or not we ought move in that direction. But I wanted my Republican colleagues on the committee to know I wanted to their ideas. I want to hear what they have to say."

The committee is scheduled to mark up the bill next Tuesday.

The draft, which began circulating around 3 p.m., is the first official health care reform bill released by the key committees working on the issue.

Dodd is sitting in for Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.), who is fighting brain cancer, as lead negotiator on the HELP committee.

"I much prefer sitting next to the chairman than as manager" of the bill, Dodd said.

Dear Judge Soyomayor,

Having been encased in a body cast and a half-leg cast (both plaster) simultaneously after a rock climbing accident long ago, I sympathize with you and wish you well with your crutches, too.

Take it slow with the crutches while navigating. Try not to whack too many of your critics with them, either. (Even when they get out of turn about your record and qualifications, which are superb.)

Keep up with your physical therapy when the time comes. You only get one chance to regain your flexibility, range of motion, and strength. Consistency and frequent stretching/ exercising will be the keys to success after the cast comes off, and it will.

what the hell is insurance reform without a public option. Everything can be done with Cost restrictions.

I don't want to see anymore money going to insurance companies..

I pay car insurance....237.00 a month
Homeowners insurance...162.00 a month
Healthcare insurance...516.00 a month

I have never been so depressed in my life. I am 51 years old, tired of doing the right thing all the time. I pay my bills....and get nothing in return.

I am trying to get people motivated to call people. Do yo know that I called Senator Nelsons office in DC and his phone was answered on the first ring? No one is calling. I called Senator Martinez's office after I got my email reply from him. The young man was so busy, he asked me to email....did not have the time to talk. I made him anyway.

Wow! I live in Québec. Here are my costs:
car insurance: $76 a month
home insurance: $24 a month
health insurance: $0 a month
Instead of looking at just your taxes, look at them and insurance costs together and see if you are better off. Québec is the most taxed province in Canada, and for me, it is about 35%. I could not afford to live in the States!

Absolutely, what's the difference if you get a tax break, if corporations are going to tax you with additional costs. My Visa debit card is now charging POS(POINT OF SALE) charges with many purchases. It functions exactly as a tax. My standard of living goes down just the same.

The government has been much better to me than corporations, both as an employee and a customer.

On Cnn Europe, I just listened to the testimony of the last passenger who went out of the plane which landed in the Hudson, just before the Captain and the Co-pilot. I suppose it was during official inquiries. It was so impressive... He's had an exellent show on Health Care tonight. Boy! I sure loved that Senator BARBARA MIKULSKI (D) MARYLAND! She's GREAT! Can't say I've really seen her before but she's a "seasoned" politician & quick on her feet.

On the Health Care Services Act introduced by Senators KENNEDY & DODD.

She said: FIRED UP!!! ... And, RARIN' TO GO!!!

She stated we have to deal with this health care mess! PUBLIC OPTION will keep the Insurance companies HONEST. Insurance companies fear competition. She TIRED of the old arguments.

She then said:

It's been 15 years now and HARR has had a heart attack, needs 5 meds & needs therapy & has NO health care & LOUISE, well she has diabetes, needs meds & has a grandchild with autism.

Then Senator Mikulski said she tired of the 'STAGNANT QUO'. She added that if the Senate has to 'MUSCLE the ACT THROUGH', there's PLENTY PREPARED TO DO IT!!!!

Just LOVED what this woman had to say.

I say we use her broken ankle to do an experiment in order to prove a point.

Sotomayer should cancel her health insurance policy affective two days ago (pre- ankle break). Now, film her sitting in the emergency room trying to get help and being rejected because her policy was cancelled.

Now...show her on the phone trying to get health insurance that doesn't exclude treatment for her "pre-existing condition" (her broken ankle). Now...pan the camera down towards her ankle and watch it quickly swell into a massive purple balloon...

This sound cruel doesn't it? Well, this happens hundreds of time a day right here in America...

So, as I understand, a "trigger" regarding the healthcare bill means basically this: that if healthcare folks, insurance folks, don't do what they say they will do, that this will "trigger" healthcare reform.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Secret Service says a person jumped a fence onto White House property and was immediately taken into custody Tuesday.

The White House went into a security lockdown and members of the media were not permitted to leave the grounds.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said the person jumped the northeast fenceline rimming the White House at 3:17 p.m. Eastern time. No injuries were reported.

President Barack Obama was inside the White House at the time of the incident. No other details were immediately available.

Somebody here called me and other single-payer advocates "selfish" on the last thread for wanting to include the voices of single-payer activists into the health care debate. "Selfish" because, to paraphrase, there are many people out there who are happy with their private insurance and want to keep it. To those of you who subscribe to that view, I wonder where your evidence is? Because it sounds to me like a talking point that many have swallowed hook, link, and sinker from the President, himself, without EVER questioning its validity.

One of Baucus' staffers--at a recent townhall--argued that point at a townhall with just under 300 participants. In response, a man stood up, called BS on the staffer, and asked the people in the crowd to raise their hands if they were happy with their insurance. Ten people in the crowd raised their hands. That's it.

The people who are happy with their insurance are likely happy with their doctors and health care providers--not with their insurance companies. They are also most likely people who have never got sick enough to realize how deficient their coverage is.

To call people like me, who want quality health care for ALL regardless of their station in life, pre-existing conditions, or ability to pay SELFISH is absurd. When we stand up for single payer, we stand up for all of you, everyone that you love, and everybody in this country. THAT is hardly selfish. The selfish people are those who are stifling debate and attempting to preserve the profits of the private health insurance industry--who make profits by denying care and picking and choosing who lives and who dies.

But I digress . . . who HERE is happy with their insurance? Who HERE thinks that the majority of their relatives, friends, neighbors, and co-workers are happy with their insurance?

Folks need to stop and think before swallowing BASELESS talking points . . . no matter where they come from. And when they come from President Obama, you need to ask yourselves WHY he's engaging in such baseless rhetoric, himself.

Sen.Hillary Clinton wanted a mandated plan, Sen. Barack Obama always said if you like health care you have, keep it.
But he also wanted a Public Option to give folks a choice.

please everyone don't fall into the republican spin zone of not being able to keep the current coverage you have. It has always been on the table to keep the current insurance you have through your employer. The right is trying to scare people into thinking otherwise. But, then there are lots of people who have coverage via their employer who would like another option because their coverage is not enough.

I am now on Medicare but when my husband was alive we had employer based health care through BCBS.

My husband had five years of fighting colon cancer. The only thing we ever paid was our deductible at the beginning of every new year cycle. They even paid for a trial chemo for him which they said in our policy that they would not cover.

This was for local doctors and for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Mn.

We would not have switched to the public plan, hence we were happy with our employer based health care.

I am sure there are 100's of thousands of people who feel the same way.

Sorry about your husband.
I too had colon cancer.
However it was discovered in the nick of time by a colonoscopy test, was barely a Stage 3, an operation removed about a foot-long section along with malignancy, and I'm fine now.
Was covered by Medicare and also my Supplemental Insurance.

I have insurance through my employer and I like it. We have United Healtcare and my premiums are $135 per pay period for me and my husband. The plan is a very good plan with a very low deductible and no out of pocket amount. BUT...it took years for our company to be able to offer good insurance to our employees. We joined a PEO which enters into a co-employment arrangements with small companies of less than 100 employees. Our PEO has over 100,000 employees and can negotiate great insurance rates.

My daughter, on the other hand, has what looked like a good policy until she had to use it. She has a personal plan through BCBS for she and her son. Her original monthly premium was $315. After one surgery, the premium increased to $650 per month. It's a real struggle for her to make the payments and they deny a lot of her claims.

Thanks goodness...I was really concerned about this. All I thought was if the full court heard the case, the conservatives would've had an upper hand in killing the deal, which would've given bondholders in GM something to hand their hat on.

We needed the win. The deficit talk from the GOP is resonating...that's my only concern now. That, and health care.

I don't know about Corzine, but you can kiss a Republican win in Virginia goodbye.

Obama won 53-47. Not exactly a close race in such a divided country. Bush barely won by the skin of his teeth in 2004. And everyone (except perhaps you), knows that Bush STOLE the 2000 election.

California, under a REPUBLICAN Governor is experiencing problems, but anyone who feels California will go blue anytime soon has problably just landed here on the Mother Ship.

And while I'm at it, President Obama has done more in five months than Bush did in eight years.

He's making Congress actually work, something Congress is not used to doing. Obama has an excellent, hard-working staff, a LOT more than one could say for Bush.

Bush's Presidency was disgraceful, and he left a grand mess for Obama to clean up.

The problem is that you are getting paid to come here and bash the President. That's how I see. That's the biggest problem, because you'll move on to another problem or just continue to argue no matter what.

President Obama already stated that he plans to start reducing our debt starting in 2010. It's not like he is going to be requesting a stimulus package every year. A recession of this magnitude requires a large stimulus upfront. The economy has to grow. Explain how the economy is going to grow under the Brad plan.

Brad,

You need to understand that, off course, President Obama and we his supporters are concerned about the debt. However, we believe that the country can no longer afford to put off healthcare and energy - these issues have already been put off for decade after decade, and the country is paying a steep price for it. We believe that the American economy of the 21st Century will not be SUSTAINABLE unless we fix healthcare and energy. We see this as a NECESSARY investment.

Our intention is to build the pieces of a SUSTAINABLE 21st Century economy and then streamline it as we move forward. As long as the SYSTEMIC PROBLEMS continue to be too great of a drain on the economy, it will not be possible to genuinely get the debt under control.

Now, perhaps you may disagree with our policies and our approach, but you are simply being pigheaded if you insist on claiming that we aren't concerned about the debt.

You know what - banks are starting to repay TARP funds, and the government even made a little over $1B from this most recent payback.

The recovery act money is just getting out there, and there are HUGE projects getting started, actually you should google the project that's going on in New Jersey (your Democratic father may be interested in this) which is going to create a lot of jobs and increase travel between N.J. and N.Y. via public transportation.

Bottom line is that Obama is not spending money on candy and tax cuts that people are just wasting. He's spending money INVESTING. You will be surprised when you wake up in 2-4 years and see advancements in our country's infrastructure which begins to spur productivity and makes innovation easier and more attractive.

I know you want him out of office in 4 years, but give him a chance to lay the foundation for his vision. He's got a plan, and I believe it is going to work...it makes sense.

That bears repeating - we earned interest from the loans we made to the banks. And the loans have been repaid.

TARP wasn't such a bad deal after all. It wasn't a bailout - it was a loan.

Hi, Brad! I have thought about this a lot, along with my Congressman, Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Nashville). The main reason that the stimulus ran up the deficit was because of the failures of the Bush Administration and their unwillingness to take action in 2008. As we faced the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, it was not time to do tax hikes. We needed bold, aggressive action that provided timely, temporary, and targeted stimulus.

Even Blue Dog Democrats like Rep. Cooper, Rep. Davis, Rep. Tanner, and others voted in favor of the ARRA because they knew we desperately needed to jump start the economy, make key investments in our infrastructure and green technology, and provided support for the unemployed who were failed by the ruinous policies of Bush and the GOP.

In short, the stimulus was a one-time thing, and President Obama is committed to stopping the credit card to China.

My grown daughter just had to go to the emergency at the hospital for being unconcious with a spiked fever. She lives in DC and I live on the West Coast. She is home now and on antibiotics. Lucky her sister was with her when it happened to get her to the hospital.
She is waiting to start a trade school in August currently and working only part time. She has a degree already but is getting a different area of expertise to go into. She recently came back from working in China for two years.
She mentioned the better healthcare she got there than here and in her travels abroad. She is having trouble affording healthcare currently as the deductable is so high she is afraid to go to the doctor here. I told her that the WH would like to hear her input on healthcare stories. She asked me where to go to give them. I know earlier I saw info on here asking for stories. Is this still needed? If so what website or address should I direct her to?
To those of you who were on here during the Primary campaign I asked a question on here then about sending her info in China on voting. I got excellent advise and sent her the info and Obama's books to read and pass onto her American friends that were working there too. She read and passed around his books and many voted for BO from China. Thanks for that info and for any you can give me now.

This is just the beginning. You might not have been around today but this is just not what the final bill is even gonna look like. Things are moving just fine. You just need to contact your congressmen/women and let them know you have to have the public plan.

The "choices" being called "health benefit gateways" are fake public options. What the bill describes as "gateways" are regional, state-run programs. In a very real way, this is no different than the "market solutions" that McCain was endorsing when he was talking about states competing with one another during the general election. Dems were against it then and we sure as hell ought to be against it now. And against mandates. Against taxing health benefits. Against triggers. Against anything that is not a genuine public option. If a genuine public option does not come of this process, and single payer is kept off of the table, NOTHING should be passed. Let all of Congress wallow in their failure and feel the brunt of the public's anger.

The 2008 Presidential primary changed the status of the Clinton's with the electorate. They may still be able to raise lots of money with the establishment but the average voter is no longer moved by their endorsements. I think most people still respect President Clinton for the good that he did for our country during his Administration but there was a changing of the guard that took place in the 2008 election.

With Warner, Webb, Kaine and the biggest weapon of all President Obama I feel Mr Deeds has a really good shot at winning in November.

Schiff is 100% right. He's one of the few who actually have their heads screwed on straight. When he says that the administration is making things worse, he is talking about the handling of the financial sector, and he is correct.

The first time I heard him speak, I thought he was a blowhard. But then I learned a great deal about the markets, about the scandalous banks, about fractional reserve lending, about inflation, about the Federal Reserve, about currencies, etc., and came around to understanding that Schiff is right.

Things are going to get much, much worse before they get better. Krugman, Stiglitz, and all of the other economists that folks here were railing against were right about what should have happened to the insolvent banks.

As an economist I must say that there is no basis for making any final conclusions about the effectiveness of the current financial policies. No one, including krugman and Stiglitz would suggest that the data is in to make final conclusions. They may very well be right with their predictions but at this point they are still predictions. I might also add that a definitive understanding of the economy and effective policy requires more study than I'm sure you did. To suggest that anyone is 100% right on any of this is unlikely to say the least.

I might also add that neither krugman nor stiglitz ever argued that we should let the economy fail. You cannot argue for their policy ideas and those of a libertarian in the same breath and be consistent. Krugman wanted to take the banks into receivership which is to effectively nationalize them at least for a short time. Such ideas are anathema to any true libertarian.
I suspect that letting the economy fail as you said would have meant closer to 25% unemployment as we saw in the 30s. Perhaps you could survive such a condition but many couldn't. I would consider any policy that promoted such a consequence to be irresponsible. There is a reason that Ron Paul only attracts a minority of supporters.

"These folks in the plutocracy just don't get it.

The sophisticated way of saying it, is Newton's third law of motion: every action has an equal opposite reaction.

In other words, its the old saying "pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered" means nothing to them.

The normal rate of return is about 4.5% for a business. Anything over that is called 'rents'. The firms are pulling down oligoply and monopoly rents and in the case of Pharma, super-monopoly rents. To do this, 18,000 Americans needlessly have to die while millions of Americans take pay cuts to help fund these rents.

The lesson of the Russian revolution means nothing to these people. Perhaps the more circumspect ones think they'll get off with a mere public chastisement like the Wall Street crowd got. They just don't get it.

They don't realize that they are flirting with mob rule gone wild. Once the public fully realizes that the healthcare oligopoly is responsible for six times more deaths every year than Al Quaida was on 9/11, and are over charging us to boot, they'll be lucky if they end up with only one pitch fork stuck through their abdomens.

These folks simply aren't content with getting fat, they are intent on getting slaughtered. This is the next great event emerging in our time.

The alternative to public option is medicare for all, arriving on a pitch fork. We all know, single payer is not going to get done unless we hit the streets.

Doctor's and nurses are already doing just that. It's high time we join them.

Imagine that - you can have free health care for the rest of your life, and it will cost you nothing more than an afternoon walking with friends.

Oh, and if that's not incentive enough, single payer (medicare for all) is so efficient that it will probably end the recession in a fortnight."

IMO, that commenter was expressing something very real. Politicians have no idea how angry people are over this. There was once a bill in the House to study "violent radicalization" and homegrown terrorism in this country. If they want to know how it is that people become radicalized, they ought to look in the mirror. People become radicalized when their government ignores them and when politicians act in opposition to what the majority of the population wants. With the wars, illegal wiretapping, torture, the bank bailouts, and the economy continuing to tank, people are really on edge. If they screw up health care--which they appear to be on the fast track of doing--there is going to be hell to pay.

I am now thoroughly bored listening to the "wise Latina" irrelevancy incessantly debated. Nobody bothers to cite Sotomayor's actual rulings to determine if she actually is a reverse racist in her application of the law. No doubt that is because it would definitively squash this "controversy," contrived solely for political and TV ratings.

Every so-called controversy about the Obama presidency so far seems contrived for political and/or TV/talk-radio/website ratings, everything from Obama's non-existent "apology tours" (they obviously weren't), to the fake puzzlement over how the White House came up with "150,000 jobs saved or created" under ARRA so far (nobody, seemingly, has bothered to check on how the figure was arrived at, much less its accuracy or inaccuracy), to Obama's dates with his wife, to the groundless concerns of Liz an Dick Cheney on the closure of Gitmo.

There is nothing of substance that Obama has done so far, and he's done a lot, that has generated legitimate criticism. Legitimate concern, yes; a $3.6-trillion budget with a $1.75-trillion deficit, on top of $700-billion TARP and $787-billion ARRA and the omnibus spending bill, is indeed concerning. But what is the alternative, given the economic situation since Wall Street started collapsing like a house of cards last fall? Nobody has come up with a credible alternative economic rescue plan. Additionally, the economy is showing signs of gradual recovery; Obama's opponents must be sweating bullets about that.

By now we must realize It wouldn't matter who President Obama selected for this position, The Republicans would have criticized his decision anyway. I'm sorry you have to be the target right now, but hang in there and let's hope you'll be judging their destiny one day. I have never seen so much disrespect for any of our President's as there is for President Obama. I believe in freedom of speech, but the world is watching. There is definitely too much media on the negatism. We voted for THE PRESIDENT AND HIS PLANS. Anyone working in the White House or any government office should keep their negative comments about our PRESIDENT or any president, behind closed doors or be reprimended. We all respect his decisions and especially the one he made when he appointed you for the position. He is giving hope for all that was not fortunate to be born with a silver spoon in our mouth. I am a 50 year old white grandmother who raised 3 kids alone and even though there may have been programs out there to help get ahead in life, they were not made available unless you knew where to look. With President Obama, he will make sure the underdog has every opportunity to get the information he needs to accomplish his dreams.( Sorry about the long comment). Just wishing you the best of luck and we are behind you both all the way.

Thats the way it goes. The cable news motto is "If it bleeds it leads" Simply put, that means they deal in death. Even the death of joy. So what can we do? We can campaign for PBO. We can make calls to talk up PBO(if Amy puts the tools up), and we can go on other blogs and tout his wisdom. We can get emails (our own) ans send out a word to lift him up, and we can tell each person we send it to to make it viral. The bottom line is this, is we don't think the word is coming through cable chatter, then it has to come from us. We may not be able to go on the road like Ed, but we can reach a lot of people. Now, that is what I have been doing regarding health care. I have talked to a multitude, and each one I spoke to also has talked to a multitude. Somehow, I do not think anyone is going to do this, but nevertheless, if cable isn't telling the truth then somebody has to. It falls on us to be active.
