Finally our moment has arrived. Now we not only can but will! Our entire family has already voted for the Obama/Biden ticket. My daughter and I will be working all afternoon in the GOTV efforts in Milwaukee's north shore suburbs, where the response thus far has been gratifying. Later tonight we are going to an Obama party with friends from work. We will all be watching the election results very carefully.

I think about my father and many others like him. These are the parents and grandparents who Barack Obama is referring to when he talks about the people who may not have had certain opportunities, but did what was necessary so that WE could have those opportunities. Because of them, we have reached a day that we may elect a President, not based on the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. These are people that have always taught us that if we work hard and do the right things, we can become anything we aspire to be. Barack Obama is the evidence of this truth.

Today is a historical day; a day for celebration – no matter the outcome of this election. But it is a day to remember those who had visions of the mountaintop, but who did not make it there with us. It is also a day of dedication to those who have come before us, who worked and struggled and sacrificed and hoped and dreamed. so that we could experience a day such as today.

It sure is a day we've been waiting for. After I finished voting for the next President of the United States-Barack Obama-I got a tear in my eye. It felt sooooooooooo good to vote for him. It was awesome!

The line to vote in my city in Minnesota was pretty long I was happy to see that. I work at a University here and the line to vote at one of the polling places was at least a block long and there are Obama posters around campus everywhere. It's beautiful!!

I know how you feel. Last night I watched Obama's speech in VA on C-Span and it was great and so inspriring to hear him and to see the huge crowd out there in Virginia so late at night. Then I heard the historian Doris Kearns Goodwin who was the guest on the Daily Show say that she is confident that Obama will win and win big today. I went to sleep with a smile on my face. I woke up every few hours because I couldn't wait to get up and go vote. I finally got up at 5 AM and went to the polls at 6 AM to cast my vote. My eyes also teared up as I entered the room. This is my 9th election and I've never felt so excited about voting and about the choice that I had. I'm white and middle class and I am moved beyond anything and bursting with pride in Obama. Any more excited and I feel I would burst. I can't even imagine how Black people in this country are feeling. I want you all to know that we feel the feeling with you. We are proud, moved, excited, inspired and ready to step up to the challenge of helping Obama improve our country. We are all one family - black, white, young, old, Rep., Dems, etc. He has helped us all to become one family.
Love abounds today and in the future.
God bless Obama and all of us!

McCain through it all away by not being a maverick. Instead of standing with his convictions, he bowed to his party of nuts, and stooped to deceit, gimmicks, smears, and poor policies. In the looming wake of the economic crash, instead of picking a VP like Romney, or Pawlenty, he picked Palin, the gimmick. Instead of highlighting real people with real pain, and the solutions, he showcased Joe the fake plumber. Instead of honoring his first instinct that the Bush tax cuts for the most wealthy were dishonest, and didn't profit mainstream America, he climbed aboard.

McCain isn't the leader you hoped he'd be.

Hi everyone, As I sit here having my morning coffee knowing in just a few minutes I will be off to get the last day of canvassing in around my neighborhood and back to make a few calls, I can't help but smile for all the wonderful people I have met on this site along the way to get us to this day. I want to share my prayers for Barack Obama that he continues to lead us in the unity that he has already accomplished in so many ways. We, who worked for him and voted for him or will be voting for him throughout the day, know he will be the President we have known all along this country needs, but I also pray for those who did not vote for him, that they see what we have all seen for 2 years, that everything is going to be alright for them and one day very soon they will reach across and join our cause. I also pray that every American extend their hands across the land and across the aisles and welcome him as our leader and work with him and for him as we all did. I wish I had the opportunity to meet in person all of you I have met campaigning. Just knowing we share the same country, the best in the world, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, makes us all one and I have seen how we all can come to together and get the job done. With all of us and Barack Obama, our next President, I know that whether it is fighting to keep our home, dealing with a job loss, no health care and wondering how we are going to heat our home this winter we will survive because WE ARE AMERICANS and that is what we do, we get up and stay up and come out better for it. Thank you. I only say what I am feeling in my heart this morning. From this day forward I will never again forget the meaning of the word "HOPE".
