the media is so afraid of BO. cnn has created a blog or a section for rev Wright. all they do is talk about how BO can't win. they giving HRC the boost. talking about how the youths have switched sides to HRC, how BO cannot win the white middle class or blue workers. i think we should all boycott these chanels. Pamela Brown spends her 1 hour show down sizing BO. its a shame. i wanted to write to them but could not find a blog or were to write to her.i'm waiting for AC 360 to tell her my peace of mind. infact all of them. if they are campaigning for her they should just say so.

Mainstream media does not want Obama to win because they cannot control his supporters and he thinks out-of-their-box. With all of the MSM doom and gloom, Obama Rolls On! CNN, ABC,Fox, etc. have forgotten MonicaGate, NAFTA, deals with Columbia and they have NO concern about Huma Abelin who is a close associate with HRC and has family ties to the Saudi's! The RNC wants HRC because they know they have more to work with in regard to the Clintons' extensive baggage. With Barack it was the Rev. Wright and I think Barack put that tired, old issue to rest. They are saving the HRC baggage for the general because they believe Obama will be cheated from the nomination if they create enough gloom! We cannot let that happen! Obama 08!

Damn it, will Obama give me a reason to believe he is passionate about being president? Will somebody light a fire under him? This is nuts. He seems so determined to be thoughtful that I can't find any semblance of passion in the man. Jesus Christ. Why in the hell should I commit to a man who will not commit to the office? Show me some fire. Some temper. It is like electing a debate chairman. God dammit, show us some fire. I want to whip the Republican asses. He wants to appear thoughtful. God damm it, some me some fire. Or forget me.

Two polls show us up 7 in NC. If we can bring it home in NC, the nomination is ours.
Hillary can win Indy and try to fight all the way but it won't make a lick of difference. The Superdelegate endorsement trickle of this week will turn into a flood next week if we win NC.

The media is wishing and hoping Barack's poll numbers will plummet. It's not happening and now their heads are spinning. They are so perplexed. "Why aren't the american people believing our idiot pundits?", they ask themselves. And "Why are the SD still flocking to Obama?", "Don't they see we have used all of our media might against this guy to destroy him?".
I think they had better try to realize that the people, unlike them, are not afraid of the Clinton Machine.

What amazes me is this - the numbers ARE down. They're down nationally, they're down in NC and IN. But still, Obama is running his campaign with integrity.
I'm so impressed with him. He's a true statesman. And he's going to help us achieve victories as a nation, just like Bill Clinton did in 1992.
Hillary Clinton is more like George Bush than Bill Clinton. She might be married to him, but she doesn't think like him and she doesn't vote like him.

I refuse to give up the fight for Indiana and to this end I have concentrated my call time to this state. We can pull off a victory here as well as NC and virtually close out the primary. If there is anyone in this thread that lives in Indiana and is a volunteer, more work needed in location with area code (812). I got a lot of negatives but all is not lost given we can do some damage control. A few are also undecided and it would be good if we could get them to break for Obama. I hope everyone is calling the three states with upcoming primaries. Warm regards. Spicegirl

I think that they believe that they have pander enough in Indiana to take it on Tuesday. I hope that they won't, but, she does seems to know how to sweet talk them into voting for her.
Our guy is too good and too truthful. It is like promising your boss that you can finish something in a day when you know very well that you can't do it. The promise gets you rewarded.
Who cares about later? We can come up with an excuse later like blame someone else for it not being done.
I pray that sen. Obama wins both these states and that voters over there are not fooled by HRC.
He should do another ad. about what people will lose if they get a gas tax holiday. You know things like $9B in revenue and road construction jobs. This will lead to their inability to pay for their mortgage which will lead to home foreclosure which will lead us more into a recession. All for those $30 or half a tank of gas.

Hillary's War
If you live in NC or IN, and still have friends or family that are leaning Hillary or undecided, I think it's a good idea to email them this article that appeared in the New York Times last May, a feature story that detiled Hillary's history of support for the Iraq war -- which was unique in its nature -- and how she skillfully repositioned herself from one of the most vocal supporters of the war to a an anti-war candidate in time for the election.
Hillary's current anti-war rhetoric is a far cry from her initial support of the war. Not only had she supported it when 23 of her fellow senators had not, she went further than almost ALL her democratic colleagues by claiming that Saddam was working with Al Qaeda, an untrue, republican talking point that scared many Americans into believing that invading Iraq was somehow linked to 9/11, though there was no evidence of this.
She did not read the National Intelligence reports, even though senators that had read it urged the others to do so, saying that the reports would prove that invasion of Iraq was unjustified.
Many colleagues believed that her support of the war was due to insecurity that she might not appear "tough" enough. Note that today, the same insecurities have been suspected as the reasoning behind her exaggerations about her role in Northern Ireland and Bosnia.
Read 'Hillary's War', a New York Times feature story detailing Hillary's history of support for the Iraq war.

Hi - I sent this today:
Regarding your story about Clinton vs Obama May 1:
I am tired of hearing about polls, but what the poll you talked about seems to indicate is that we need to come together and choose a nominee in this race, and that should be Barack Obama. Barack Obama has energized the voters in this country like no one else in history. That energy is for HIM, and I doubt it is transferable to any other candidate. Since the Democrats obviously want to win in November, we had better choose the candidate who is able to get out the vote. We all know the Republicans are terrified about running against Obama (hence their recent praise for Clinton), because next to Obama, McCain is nothing but an old, fusty, mean, nasty, senile war-monger. There is no way he could beat a young, energetic, highly intelligent, level-headed, self-controlled, honest person with NO BAGGAGE who actually disagreed with him about this horrible war in the first place.

Whatever happened to American's value of INTEGRITY in a person. I ask this because Hillary Clinton has ZERO integrity but millions of people are still voting for her. what does that say about us socially?
Do we not value INTEGRITY or have we become so lazy that we are not even willing to fact check the person we are voting for to become the next President?

Actaully HALF of those Millions of people are
REPUBLICANS. If the republicans were not trying so hard to take Barack Out, she would not have half as many people voting for her. They want to get her to the general election and THEN bring out all of the dirt. Also, dont forget that the media is also working against Barack to help Hillary. They are speaking to the (so called)Blue Collar White workers trying to turn them off of barack with racism.

YesI agree with you assertion and normally that would be a reason for most people to not vote for this woman. The mere fact that so many are voting for her should give us all pause to think about the collective thought process of our society.
Some of the things that have happened in this election are not normal. On the one hand we have a clearly intelligent, humble, articulate, honorable Man in Barack Obama. when we are presented with such a GIFT as the next president of the United States what do many of us do? We turn our backs on it. the offering of Barack Obama to the american citizen as a choice is equivelent to offering a child a SHINEY NEW TOY! That child 9 times out of 10 is not going to turn it down. Right!? So what is wrong with the adults who are supposed be able to make responsible decisions. What is wrong with us socially when most of the people making the right choice for Barack as President are college students and people in the lower age bracket? Something is just not right with the collective thought process of the American society. The sad part about it though is that we are essentially on a stage right now performing in front of the world.
If you were a foreigner watching this election right now what would you think about the thought process of Americans?

Why, why elect ANOTHER person who is NOT of high moral standards? Is that what we want our children to aspire to???

I agree with you, Ty. I have been trying to figure out why in the world would someone of average intelligence or better not see Obama as a far superior candidate for POTUS? I cannot figure out how Clinton supporters see her as the best candidate. The past baggage and the conduct of her current campaign should be examples enough. I must say that maybe the people are not paying enough attention to the political race. Honesty to me is an essential quality for a position of leadership add in intelligence, judgement, a background of helping people in need, and legislative experience in his IL state and some in the US Senate.

Ty,
I've been wondering the same thing. She has repeatedly "misspoken." Things blow up for a few days and it's as if everyone forgets. She recently put up an ad about the closing of a factory in IN, but failed to mention that Bill could have prevented. There's been little mention of it in the media. I think ABC did a story on it.
What's sad is, this is all just the tip of the iceberg. I truly believe that her kind of politics will only bring this country down. She's already damaging our foreign relations because of her statement about obliterating Iran. She doesn't seem to care, because she keeps repeating this.
It is a sad sign of the kind of mindset is out there. I stated in another post that my cousin (a very well educated high school teacher) voted for HRC in the MD primaries. She feel BHO has too little experience. I didn't comment on that (b/c i don't see how HRC has much more experience). Instead, I mentioned that I felt that the senators that voted for the Iraq war should have to wear a flag pin for every soldier that has died in Iraq. She agreed and continued to talk about how useless this war is and how sad the loss on both sides is... umm... HRC voted FOR the war! she didn't seem to hear herself talking...

I agree Ty. And without integrity, forget it.
It mystifies me that people don't seem to care whether or not the woman has integrity. It says alot about our current culture. And the genuinely don't see it or care.
If we don't stop the rot now, we will be getting the president and the country we deserve.
It is intensely frustrating that people don't value honesty and integrity anymore.

Ty - I think most people in America are so used to lying politicians they assume they are all like that and that that is just a fact of life. Many of the people skeptical of Obama think he's worse than Hillary because he seems so honest and ergo MUST be even MORE dishonest. This is why we NEED to have Obama as our president, so that we feel able to even believe that there's a possibility of an honest politician.

Yes! But your assertion goes againts the long held notion that we as humans overtime evolve mentally quicker than any other aspect of our being.
I equate it to buring ones hand on the stove. It only takes me to burn my hand once and I will stop touching the stove. If you lie to me often enough I know that you are a lier and I stop trusting you, thus I have evolved in the sense that I have learned from those past experiences (LIES) with you.
So my question is have so many in America been systematically psychologically programmed to accept certain things. Just look at how long our attention span is? Just two week ago Hillary said she would obliterate an entire country and already most of America has forgotten about it. Any logical person would deduce from the past week that obliterating Iran is of much more importance than Rev. Wright. Does that mean that most Americans have been trained to not think in a logical manner?

What's really interesting though is that what the media is doing is nothing new at all. I am currently majoringin History and taking an online course here from Iraq.
Since the Bill of rights was ratified in 1791 madia outlets (NEWPAPERS) have been taking advantage of the flexibility of the 1st Ammendment (FREEDOM OF PRESS) the really sad aspect of that though is that since 1791 privately owned media sources have been manipultaing the view of society for political gain and people haven't evolved past it. I find that very very interesting when we consider ourselves intellectional and ever evolving beings.

The fact that integrity is of little importance speaks to demise of cultural values. This is typically the first sign of a dying society.
The Roman empire fell apart not so much from invading peoples as from a cultural malaise, which can be seen in the writings, art and sculpture of the 300 to 400 AD. Crazier religious sects, overdone hairdos, a super rich elite, a general lack of restraint.
It all starts with an unwillingness to care about the little things. When people stop caring about the little things, this starts to bleed into the larger things. A 'me first' society, where everyone feels entitled, where people think they have the right to do whatever they want, from driving poorly, to reveling in bad taste, to rampant consumption, to rampant obesity, etc.
This was a nation that spearheaded the creation of the Geneva Conventions, to forbid that such things like Dresden, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the Holocaust of course, would never occur.
And yet Iraqbodycount.org reports nearly 100,000 Iraqi civilians dead over the course of 5 years, and from the reports they receive, a substantial number of these deaths are directly caused by US military action. Where is outrage in the press about this? Why do we think it fair to pay an Afghan or Iraqi family whose lost their child to a cluster bomb $2,000. What child is worth a mere $2,000?
The overriding importance of Sen. Obama and the inspiration he is igniting is that perhaps, with people believing in something greater than themselves, then the cultural malaise can be converted to cultural pride, into a sense of self-propriety and shared benefit. A sense of the 'we' being far more important than the 'me'.
Hopefully.
Marcello, south Florida

since I don't have an account!!
A lot of people say that if hillary loses then woman wont vote either... BUT the thing is is that it's not the same... As an AA we are watching very carefully, we know exactly what's going on, we know the numbers, we know obama has more states, delegates, and popular vote and we know that hillary catch up at this point... Black voters would vote for hillary IF she had won the nomination fair and square but she can't without the supers overturning the will of the voters!! THAT'S the key difference and that's what people are overlooking by thinking that they can just give the nomination to hillary and AA's just fall in line.. Yeah right!!!... woman may be upset if hillary doesn't win but they can't claim that they took it from her!! That is what angers us and THAT is why we will not turn out in the general election!!! Changing the rules when we won fair and square will not be tolerated in November!
Al sharpton already gave a warning about this a couple of months ago.. here's the video

You make a great point. a lot of people don't realize that for ht efirst time since MLK the african american community is unified for one specific purpose. Many dont see or refuse to acknowledge the magnitude of ONE ENTIRE ETHNIC GROUP stopping in its tracks and focusing on one specific goal. I for one have said it once and I will say it again "BARACK COULD SLAP MY MOMMA AND I WOULD STILL VOTE FOR HIM" there is no way that Hillary would get the AA vote if they stole this thing from Barack.
The other issue is that them stealing this thing from Barack presents a notional security issue. There are so many American emotionally intertwined in this guy that it would be SOCIAL SUICIDE to overturn the will of the people. the American people would have to let out their frustration somewhere, and historically Americans have made themselves heard loud and clear when they really feel as though they have been wronged.

This is why the Clintons, media, Hillary supported 527s, and republicans are working overtime to decrease Obama's popular vote numbers in NC and IN to create a smokescreen to justify their decision to hand it over to her. That way they can say she won it fair and square so that AA and young voters will turn out in November. But, I say HELL NO. At this point if she ends up with the nomination, especially with republican votes tipping the scales, it is STOLEN. SHE WILL NEVER GET MY VOTE IN NOVEMBER.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HQ if you want the knock out punch for INDIANA and NC, you will make this into an ad!!
It's not negative and you are using her own words from the O'Reilly Show yesterday!!
From Huffington; During the Clinton/O'Reilly interview -
O'Reilly demanded to know how much Clinton was going to "take out of my wallet," and when she listed a series of proposals to aid middle class families, O'Reilly interjected. "I'm not middle class, I'm a rich guy."
Clinton responded (in an awkward moment),
"Rich people, God bless us. We deserve all the opportunities to make sure our country and our blessings continue until the next generation."
Certainly sounds
OUT OF TOUCH and ELITEST
to me. We need to use this as our knock out punch. Remember, we have to control the 72 hour media cycle. That's when the kitchen sink comes. Use her words in an ad, but have a surrogate do it!!! One from NC and one from IN. Or better yet, get some of the towns people. See if they think God should only bless the rich. This is an outrageous statement. There is also a pro-Clinton group that are disenfranchsing voters in NC (as they have in other states). The group sends out mailings telling voters they have to take the packets they received in the mail down to the election office or they won't be able to vote. I believe they backed it up with air time. Of course, none of this is true. Yet, there have been thousands of mailings.
This is a criminal act. Is anyone doing anything about this?

The short answer is that the calls have stopped and the NC AG's office is investigating them. The group responsible for the calls has been identified and they are *supposedly* working with the AGs office to "rectify" the situation. The only appropriate thing I see to do is to call all those people back and give them the correct info.

I'm afraid our campaign won't bite because it will the media will go crazy with "O went negative."
The problem we're having is we're not running a negative campaign and she is.
People tend to gravitate toward the negative.
It's the media's job to point out these things but they want the candidates to do it. So, if the media won't call her out and the candidate won't call her out she gets a free pass -- unless ordinary Americans like us decide to nail her.

End, unlike Senator Clinton, Senator Obama believes government cant just work for Wall street, but it has to work for Main St. as well.

But the problem is all of a sudden the media is in love with Hillary....and NOTHING she says or does is being reported in a negative way. SHe can't pump her own gas or turn on a coffee maker-who is elitist here?? How many years has it been since she pumped gas-27?
This is very depressing..i will give more and make my calls until may 6th, but this has me so worried about what she will do if she wins Indiana and starts claiming she can win the states that count in Nov.
everyone...get out there and make calls in IN and NC - we HAVE to win this.

I think this should be an ad also, but apparently we are in the minority. What I can't understand about our campaign is why we wait so long to respond to things that could potentially harm us and rely on the media to be fair and unbiased in regards to Hillary. In the past, it has caused us to loose ground. Haven't we learned anything from that? Of course we don't play dirty politics like Hillary, but many supporters and would be supporters are waiting for us to put this thing to bed. If we don't end this thing soon by using Hillary, in her own words, to our advantage it will be very hard to convince people that we can win if this goes all the way to the convention.
I work hard for my money and have sacrificed and donated to this campaign because I believe in Barack and the change he can bring to this country. Perhaps i'm just having a bad day, but it is becoming increasingly frustrating that we let good material on Hillary go to waste when we should be showing America, every chance we get, what Hillary Clinton is really about.
Let's not be so arrogant that we think all of BO's supporters are intellectual beings that pay no attention to comments such as the one she made. Didn't we learn anything when his "bitter" comments were all over the media before the PA primary and we lost? I'm sure i will get blasted for stating my opinion, but sitting back singing cum ba ya is not going to win this election for us especially when the media seems to be supporting Hillary and McCain. If we can't get them to report the facts, we have to bring the facts to the American people.
I'm sorry if I offended you family, but I had to get that off my chest. I will refrain, in the future, from going off on a tirade, but we need to learn from our mistakes.

It's frustrating because we're running a decent campaign.
If we were to go nasty like her what would be the difference between the two?
We have got to keep our brand different from hers.
It's very frustrating to me as well but for different reasons.
I'm frustrated because I don't know how to get us all together to harness our power. I don't want the campaign to get involved in slinging mud.
I would love to be able to do it myself. I would love to rip her to pieces.
I really believe it should be ordinary Americans who take her on. Nobody can go after us for being negative.
There's a double standard in this race. We can't forget that. We can never forget that.

You know, I've been pondering on this issue and concluded that it would be quite petty to go after her for some thing like that. I am sure there a lot of rich people who think deserve every opportunity they get because of what they deem to be the hard work they have put in to get where they are. Contrast this with the middle class or poor with regards to Barack's comments. There are some who would freely admit that yes they are bitter and even clingy where God and guns are concerned. And yet there are still quite a number who are defensive over the bitter and clingy statements saying that they would do the same even if they were rich. That's why Barack took responsibilty over the inadequate pharsing of what he meant to say. It's a thin line for Barack to walk if he is to ascribe elitisism to Hilary based on her 'God bless us...deserve...' statement as it has the potential to back fire on him. For that reason, I don't think he should do it. To stick her with the elitism tag he'll need something more substantial than that. Being rich and empathising with the rich doesn't make her or anyone elitist anymore than being rich and empathisihg with the poor doesn't make Barack or anyone elitist (even inspite of want for better phrasing).

HILLARY 'TOWN HALL' MEETING TO BE HOSTED BY FORMER CLINTON STAFFER STEPHANOPOULOS
Thu May 01 2008 17:25:20 ET
Just hours before the Indiana and North Carolina presidential primaries, ABCNEWS has offered to air a 'town hall' meeting with Hillary Clinton -- to be hosted by former Clinton staffer George Stephanopoulos!
Embracing and racing through a brave new era of journalism, it is not clear if ABCNEWS will inform viewers of Stephanopoulos's past employment.
Stephanopoulos helped run Mr. Clinton's first presidential election campaign and acted as his press secretary and advisor on policy and strategy before joining ABC NEWS.
An executive at a rival network mocked, "We look forward to ABC holding the next town hall meeting with President Bush, hosted by Karl Rove!"
ABC will air the hour-long Hillary forum live from Indianapolis on Sunday.
The network hit controversy last month over the decision to allow Bill Clinton's former press secretary to moderate a debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama -- without any disclaimer.
Obama is scheduled to appear on NBC'S MEET THE PRESS, where he he is expected to receive a traditional grilling by host Tim Russert.

Yeah – Yeah, I know, not suppose to watch MSM.
Watching MSNBC .. Hardball and Race To The White House. The over all impression I get from this session was “it’s already over” .. but …
If OB loses Indiana by a slim margin all is still good. If he looses North Carolina BIG trouble. No one believes he will loose NC and with a win he goes on to the nomination. But without the Indiana win this thing keeps going for sure. Even though HC has no chance.
I have to agree with this view. I think this race has been over since Super Tuesday but we all know why that isn’t so. HC just can’t accept she and Bill don’t own the Democratic party any more.
Indiana is a key, just as OB said a week ago. I’m in west central Ohio and east Indiana is no different than Ohio. My district is heavy Republican and went to Clinton.
I heard the northwestern Indiana is 25% of the vote and should go to OB.
My question, what kind of responses are you getting in the other parts of the State?

I'm watching Race to the White House and all they talk about is Wright, Wright, Wright! According to the moderator and guests, that's all their inbox and voice mails are talking about. They further state that the problem is the MSM but how Obama responds to these and other "stupid" questions (e.g. flag pins). Do you agree that his responses aren't direct and phrased properly. I, for one, want to know if anything else has anything else happened today?
"Clinton Aide has been distributing Right Wing Obama attacks for months"
Gas Prices and the solutions from the three candidates
Disenfranchising votes in North Carolina.
The list goes on and on....

I agree that NC is the key. Win there and we win the nomination. Lose and it's a new ball game.
The part of the analysis that says a Hillary win in Indy will keep the battle going is wrong. The Superdelegates are going to start breaking our way in large numbers if we win NC. Joe Andrew represents the views of a lot of Superdelegates who realize the harm this battle is doing. And if the Superdelegates start breaking for us, then the nomination will be ours fairly quickly.

Hey Everybody...Yes, I am in Canada but I have a question.
Are any of you aware of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933? It was signed in the wake of the 1929 stock-market crash.
Well Bill Clinton repealed it in 1999 and it says that is THE REASON for today's Foreclosure Crisis....
Please read this article...its not good for him...or Senator Gramm, McCain's campaign co-chair who the Act is now named after.
I think this NEEDS TO BE in the minds of voters....its the economy that has been devastated by Bill Clinton and George Bush. And Bill is out there bragging about how his wife if going to fix....HIS MESS!!!
It will take an OBAMA to clean up after the last Clinton & Bush!!!
Share the article....I've been sending it to the media, and online news journalists all day! I think this is big and hoping to hear about it on Keith by tomorrow with any luck.
I wrote MSNBC and complained about Andrea Mitchell...she looked upset with Joe Andrew today, Chris Matthews is pandering to the Clintons b/c he wants to run for Senate...Dan Abrams says there IS NOTHING NEW on the Clintons...Meredith did a P-poor job on her interview this morning....
Anyways, please read and pay particular attn to the GRAPH!!!

Guys. Losing Indiana is not an option. He has been doing well there until this week. We have to get these voters. The state is similar to Illinois. Let's find out from those who live there and have talked to people what the deciding reason is. It is Wright, is it the elitist accusation, what is it. Frankly, the Wright issue should never been an issue. How can you blame some one for what others say and believe. Even the Pope came to America to say he was sorry for the behavior of the priests. Wright's comments are pale by comparison to that. I will make calls on Saturday. There is a big time difference from where I live but I think it would help us to know where Indiana is coming from.

Kevin I was about to write a similar post but I think I'll simply add my comments to yours.
Folks I just watched Hardball and RTTWH both basically compose the sows around the RW issue AGAIN.
RTTWH has a segment where viewers send comments or questions. Every comment was focused on or about RW and not in a complimentary or helpful way for Barack.
Now here's my question. How long are WE not the campaign WE!!! Going to let them get away with this?? We come to this blog everyday and bemoan the fact that for over 3 weeks now all they talk about is RW. What are we doing besides that? Are we flooding them with mail? Are we demand fair coverage of the fact that Hillary is hypocritical in IN. concerning Magnaquench or that we are outraged over her Rich People comment. Are we mailing RTTWH on mass and asking there panel to talk about this for example. Or McCain's Haggue (sp??) minister.
We need to do what we did after the debate and let them hear our voices. I mailed over 50 programs today and will do so everyday til they start paying attention. My voice alone will not be enough however we must all do it.
People this may sound hard but, Don't come here and complain if you are not going to get out there and try and change it. I say this because without the action we are aiding and abetting their behaviour, ad in the end we will only have ourselves to blame if our man continues to be treated uinfairly or if the others are not being given the same scrutiny.
The campaign cannot do this, don't be mistaken, Only the voices of the american people can change the discussion. Only WE can do this.
WE ARE THE ONES WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!

We need to stop watching until they stop talking about it. It's that simple.
Ratings will fall, they will see people are tired of it, and they will cover something we actually care about. They really want Hillary to win this so they can keep covering this and keep getting ratings = money.
What the idiots don't realize is that MORE people will watch if Obama wins to see what happens next. If Hillary wins people are starting to get democratic fatigue and turn if off until someone here tells me that Obama is at 2024.
But remember, big corporations own the media, so they're probably not very happy about our movement to make a government for the people.

YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT!
I'm glad we are not doing the same thing. Let's keep our campaign clean.

"Former journalist Sidney Blumenthal has been widely credited with coining the term "vast right-wing conspiracy" used by Hillary Clinton in 1998 to describe the alliance of conservative media, think tanks, and political operatives that sought to destroy the Clinton White House where he worked as a high-level aide. A decade later, and now acting as a senior campaign advisor to Senator Clinton, Blumenthal is exploiting that same right-wing network to attack and discredit Barack Obama. And he's not hesitating to use the same sort of guilt-by-association tactics that have been the hallmark of the political right dating back to the McCarthy era."

And he probably is the guy who leaked the internal pollings as well. Good to know that the Clintons cooperate with republicans against a fellow democrat.

He should do a town hall from Indiana on Oprah's show for the full hour on Monday in front of like 10,000 people!
It would be higer rated than This week, on Sunday!
Oprah should do that for him. It could help him in Indiana with women voters too.
That could be a good answer to her town Hall.
he should also do SNL this week, or a guet spot on Letterman in person!

, a person who is a member of the State Central Committee in Maryland explains that Maryland SD's will not be announced til Saturday.
He goes on to explain that the State Chair will pick 2 or more names for each delegate slot, from which the committee will vote. I mentioned that the chair, Michael Cryor, has not yet declared.
And he wrote back:
True, but, I've spoken with Mike and heard him talk. While "undeclared," it is pretty clear to me he is for Obama.
So, that could be an indicator for TWO add-on delegates for Obama, and Cryor, who is a DNC Superdelegate, too!
See, two bits of good news!
Long Distance Vs. Sprinter |
Report to Admin
By
My 5 yr old knows Taekwondo
May 1st 2008 at 6:50 pm EDT
Long distance runners plan out their strategy. They concentrate on efficiency and ease of progress. They begin at a calculated tempo because they know to leave some for the end game. As they run lap after lap, their ease of motion and effortlessness of stride is apparent. Their composure is controlled, postponing the start of weariness with their modus operandi of decreasing the energy spent. They know that their ability to outwit their challenger is the key to a big win. They sometimes allow others to view them as the little guy, although they are leading. Long distance runners purposefully run out the clock. Amid distance running, there are sprinting techniques on display. During the process of running the distance, there comes a time near the end of the race where a reservoir of motion erupts giving way to acceleration in the home stretch. They are not always the favorite to win, but they show more than enough sportsmanship to rally the crowd in the home stretch. Distance runners represent fluidity and waste no motion.
The sprinters strategy is to win quickly, therefore, sprinters have been known to jump the gun. They captivate you from the moment they take off leaving others in their dust. They leave nothing for their end game, because sprinting is allied first and foremost with power and velocity. They win once they can take you out immediately. The sprinter exhibits elevated tempo and explosive progress. They showcase their command of movement with sudden, intensely powerful action as they speed down the home stretch. Sprinting focuses on power, volatility and peak speed. The goal is to focus only on the increase of velocity, and the exertion is well concentrated.
Which one is Hillary and which one is Barack?

Speaking to reporters at City Hall, Bloomberg said of the gas tax holiday, "It's about the dumbest thing I've heard in an awful long time, from an economic point of view. We're trying to discourage people from driving and we're trying to end our energy dependence ... and we're trying to have more money to build infrastructure."
"The 30 bucks is not going to change anybody's lifestyle," he said. "The billions of dollars that we would otherwise have in tax revenues can make a big difference as to what kind of a world we leave our children."

My great-parents were immigrants from Europe, too. I have a similar story.
However, I also know that we still have places in our country where a guy man can be beaten and left to die on a fence.
We still have places in our country where a black man can be dragged behind a pick-up truck.
Saying that some people are bitter because of their frustration, and saying that all of those people are always bitter and their children will be born bitter are two different things. Which descriptor do you think Senator Obama meant?
And in the political commentary right after the "Faith and Compassion" discussion, a media person referred to the "One-issue voters." Um, excuse me? It's okay to refer to a generalized group of people using a "Politically Correct" euphemism, but Senator Obama can't give us straight talk?
I'm sorry to hear that you're disappointed. We'll be here waiting with open and loving arms when you are ready to return, even if it takes as long as January 20, 2009.

OBAMA's team need to get off their butts and pay those black ministers in NC and Indiana with some Street Money. This is because most poor black people will not be motivated to vote. He needs to get some buses and take these poor and homeless people to the polls on Tuesday. NC is a state he suppose to win. He needs to tap into that segment. Everyone on the MSM is concentrating on the white working class vote. Screw dem!!! They will never vote for him so he is wasting his time. He needs to focus on the black working class. He lost PA by 200,000 votes. Does anyone realize that only 200,000 blacks in PA voted out of 500,000!!!!! That's b/c they feel America will never let him be president. Some of us are now feeling discouraged b/c we are saying "how in the world is this man with 12 straight wins, most money, delegates, votes, etc still not getting respect?"Some in the black community think this is a setup to raise him to highest height only to knock him down! Well they are wrong this time. The corporations are doing their best with their coverage of this race to influence it.
ABC is Disney, CBS is Viacom, CNN is Time Warner, etc. These executives are part of the same country club. Let's not be naive in this campaign. You need to get back to grassroots and that means get every black eligible NC and Indianan to the polls!!!! Get the black fraternities and sororities to pick people up and take them there. You need to use the MLK strategy. Remember the Birmingham bus boycott. Play MLK speeches in your commercials. Blacks will come out in droves because every black person know that's when we get fired up.

I disagree with you in some ways. The Obama campaign shouldn't have to pay any group of people to vote for Barack, especially Blacks.
The right to vote is something that our ancestors fought for and died for. Unfortunately, too many Blacks today don't value the struggles that were made on their behalf in the past.
How can you expect the Obama campaign to be responsible for other people? It's their responsibility to vote.
The Obama campaign is about an informed politic and an informed public that are engaged to lead the country in the right direction. It's not about hand outs.

This fosters caring, this is what a lot of people, especially senior citizens are saying about HRC. It works here in St Louis ask Clare McCaskell she lost her governor's race but just won her senatorial race over an incumbent republican. This is a non-issue for the average voter. The people are sick of parsing Wright and Obama. They've had enough. Turn the page! Fox news, I mean Obama-Bashing News, won't quit, but the other news outlets can give him a break for once.
Many supers are declaring for Obama. Since supertuesday, Obama netted about 70 or so, clinton 18! We are winning, never let anyone tell you otherwise!
Stay Focused! we can't afford to lose NC! canvaas, make calls, campaign hard!! Indiana we can also win, even by a few points. I think people can sympothize with this wright stuff.
WE ARE THE CHANGE WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!

HILLARY 'TOWN HALL' TO BE HOSTED BY EX-CLINTON STAFFER STEPHANOPOULOS
"George has interviewed all the candidates time and time again and has put tough but fair questions to each," said a network spokesman. "Expect the same on Sunday."
The network hit controversy last month over the decision to allow Bill Clinton's former press secretary to moderate a debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama -- without any disclaimer.
Obama is scheduled to appear on NBC'S MEET THE PRESS, where he is expected to receive a traditional grilling by host Tim Russert.

Obama Files F.E.C. Complaint Against Pro-Clinton "Swiftboat" Group
Someone may already have picked up on this but just in case:
Link
Here are some excerpts:
The Obama campaign has filed a Federal Election Commission complaint against the American Leadership Project (ALP), a "527" group that Obama campaign chief counsel Bob Bauer described this morning as a "Swiftboat wannabe" and suggested was affiliated with the Clinton campaign. The American Leadership Project, which reportedly is led by the son of one of Hillary Clinton's Indiana state co-chairs, has been running what the Obama campaign described in a press release as "a misleading attack ad against Obama" on Indiana television.
In a press conference call this morning, Bauer explained the difference between what he called "normal political committees," which are subject to limits on the amount and sources of campaign contributions and must regularly file reports with the Federal Election Commission, and so-called "527s," groups organized under Section 527 of the Internal Revenue Code and which are not subject to most election laws. According to Bauer, the FEC announced new rules in 2006 designed to reduce the impact of groups like the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, which fatally damaged John Kerry's presidential hopes with widespread negative advertising impugning his military service. The new rules require any groups that are set up expressly to support or oppose a particular candidate, like the American Leadership Project, to follow the limits and reporting requirements of "normal political committees," Bauer said, calling the American Leadership Project's actions "flatly illegal" under federal law.
*******
Indiana State Representative Matt Pierce, an Obama supporter, also participated in the conference call. He talked about seeing an anti-Obama ad on local television yesterday that caught his attention because it ended by asking people to directly contact the Obama campaign to complain. He said that such ads were "poisoning" the election process; describing the high levels of public participation and excitement among Democrats this year, he added, "I think we lose that if we let these 527s run amok."

Today while I was in the car, I heard Hillary's negative radio ad about 3 times. It starts out saying something about Barack Obama voted to give oil companies $5 billion and then goes on about his being against the gas tax holiday.
I know the truth about the gas tax holidy and that economists are slamming it, but can anyone tell me the truth about the $5 billion to oil companies. Since all of her ads here have been negative and misleading I KNOW this is too.

Barack did vote for the energy bill. This bill was changed significantly. A lot of subsidies were taken from Oil Companies and given to companies that were promoting alternate forms of energy. It was a good bill to support.

I'm going to check at factcheck.org and see if they have ran an analysis of this yet. It's got something to do with a bill that Senator Obama voted for in the Senate and as we all know those bills have multiple purposes and I'm positive its just spinning on her part.We also know what Obama stands for and that he would not vote for something that's sole purpose was to make money for the oil companies. I'll check it out.

Barack probably doesn't want to appear on ABC--but I am soooo mad, having just heard Hillary talking about the stupid gas tax holiday and referring to herself as.....Goldilocks! I know Barack doesn't want negative ads, but I can't help but wonder how much it would cost to run a short ad in NC, and whether a bunch of people 'outside' the campaign could come down hard on her, like she deserves.

They've gotten such a bad rap since the PA debate, that their audience will already have a pre-conceived notion about both George StepOnAllOfUs and whats-her-name.
This is just a private showing for her fans....let them have it.
Barack is showing up all over the place this weekend....I suspect HQ is aware of it and don't really care.

This is my plan for oil.
I will open the reserves, sell us gas for $2.00 a gallon (it is disgusting but we would be dancing in the streets for $2 gas) I am telling you that from now until we can drill for oil in our own country we are going to have to get along without Saudi oil. Since they wont make more to ease the price then we will not be buying any. Get over it and drive less, save gas and hold on to our butts, cause this is gonna be hard. But we have gotten through a lot worse. WE are a fat and spoiled country when it comes to oil consumption. There are some things we can do without. it wont take long with out our money the oil countries will come to the realization that they need us more then we need them.
(I am sure it cant be that easy, but...it sure seems that way~!)

It isn't the drilling of the oil that is the problem. Two years ago Hugo Chavez offered to sell us oil for less than $50 per barrel. Then he discovered that we didn't have enough refineries to process any more oil than we were already taking in. The problem is that when BP took over many of our refineries in the 80s and 90s, they started shutting down the refineries and then complaining to Congress about raising the price of gas because they were at capacity. What the gov't should have done was take over the refineries they put out of business and made those gov't sectors and put people back to work. But the capacity of the refineries that we have open is the problem.

In case you didn't know, Hillary's site is now EXACTLY like this one in the blogs. However the big difference, is they are ONLY allowing positive comments about Hillary (most are lies about Barack).
Yes, I guess the news IS good for her and her supporters, when your head is buried in the sand.
Once again, her campaign is looking to BARACK for guidance on how to run things.....hmmm WHO IS GOING TO BE CALLING WHO AT 3AM??

I'm with both of you, Chris is like McCain, too damn wishy-washy for me. One day he's for Obama, the next day he's for Hillda-beast. He gets on my nerves, especially his comments about Hillda-beast blowing Obama out of the water, by winning NC and IN, which ain't gone happen.
I'm officially on MSM strike, except for Keith O, that's my man.

You need to understand that Chris Mathews is very Pro Clinton. I remember him saying one day to Howard Fineman these words, "you and I both know that he won't make it to the presidency." And not only that he himself said he did not have ANY black students when he went to school. So what you see is a very subtle bigot that will do anything and say anything (like Hillary) to see that Obama is not elected President. STOP WATCHING HARDBALL!!!!

Remember people that sometimes when someone says something is a good/brillant move it just means it's a good POLITICALLY calculated move.
I think the Billary campaign has on occassion out maneuvered us. :(

You got it right. Most people get their info from network news. Hilliary knows that and plays the game well.
That's why despite being overspent by Obama 4 to 1, she trounced him in OH and PA.

O.K., I know we're both on the same side here, so don't take this comment personally; this is just a pet peeve of mine. I know it's just being nit-picky, but BO only outspent her about 2.5 to 1 in both those states. I'll get the link here soon.
Anyway, you want to know why he outspent her? BECAUSE HE CAN!! WE have made that possible!
Do I really need to repeat this? She was well known in both those states, and Clinton's had the local politicians pretty much in her pocket for about 18 years. Coming in at 9% behind was a pretty good finish considering all the crap she's thrown!
He'll win in NC, and we've still got a good chance in IN due to the NW part of the state.

And, come to mention it, while BO has not done Oraly (yet), he was just on the devil's network last Sunday. Sometimes you have to dance with the devil to show his tail!

Hi all:
Just reporting and holding myself accountable. I made 75 callse to Indiana this afternoon. Still a few undecideds who were very open to talking, as Christine said a few days ago. Please call - Barack is depending on us! And people are generally very nice.
Funny story: One guy I called is working on the Clinton campaign and likes Barack. I told him he looked up the wrong website :). He said he will definitely be voting for Barack in the general. Go figure. I told him take Andrew's lead - it is never too late to wake up and smell the coffee!
Also talked with another man who said "what's wrong with voting for a woman?". He likes Barack but was afraid of what the Republicans might do. So I calmed him down. He was very nice and wanted to talk and listen and at the end, he said I had been so sweet :), he would vote for for Barack. I told him I'll call him back on Wednesday to make sure he did!
Then I met another guy who said "I'm voting for Barack!", but get this: he is not voting early because it would cost too much in gas to go to the County Clerk's office, when the May 6 polling station is 2 miles from his house. Smart voter, huh?!
All in all a great day. Please make that call and leave a message with a smile in your voice. Christine, thanks again for your inspiration and your hard work!

yeah, mickey's up there now, BUT, 1992 wasn't 20 years ago and afterall, seeing as how barack was condemned for a 20 year association with wright, and for anything the man said in all that time, i'm thinking there's a precedent

YouTube is the infinite arsenal of this revolution.
There is NO LIMIT on the amount of video that can go up there. NO LIMIT. No need to be parsimonious. NO LIMIT. No need to pre-filter. NO LIMIT.
And it's FREE. FREE. FREE. FREE.
Thus:
We need to get video from EVERY Barack event up there. Events in whole, and parts of events.
Then: we need to have a nice easy-to-use guide to all that video. So someone can search for a place, a date, a subject, and get all the links pulled up.
I'm emailing HQ about this. I'm a geek, and am also volunteering time to help them get this done.
If other folks like the idea, please also speak up.
When folks SEE and HEAR Barack, barriers melt away, and the Rightness of this candidate, for This Time, becomes ever so clear.

Letter to the MSM |

By
Henni

Someone left us a lot of email addresses on the blog to write to the MSM to calm down their tone. This is what I sent out to them.
We are in the middle of electing the Democratic candidate for the American Presidency. The highest job in this country and maybe the most important job in the world.
In the last seven years our country has lost a lot of respect worldwide. Our leadership position is weakened or has been ignored. Our dollar is no longer the preferred exchange currency.
Taking that in account I can not believe the quality of MSM coverage during this primary. Not only is it destructive to our beautiful country, the MSM coverage has been weakening our International position even more by continuing the Bush atmosphere of the last seven years.
Through my work I have a lot of International connections especially in Europe and South America where people are currently wondering or the United States simply lost it. Many people abroad receive American MSM broadcasting and ask: What about Climate Change: What about the shortage of food in the world: What about the gas crises and the wars we have to fight to continue to receive oil? Are Americans only thinking about Jeremiah Wright and fake sniper fire?
After seven years of empty leadership and an unnecessary war in Iraq many people in the world feel let down by the USA. And today, with the information they receive from our MSM on the top issues of our Democratic primary, they feel or they just have discovered that their already troubled favorite brother is also on drugs.
MSM, please, change your tone in your coverage of our Democratic primaries and stick to the issues people really care about before we loose our last goodwill and respect in the world and destroy our international relationships. Global economy, global warming, global interests. We are one people on one planet and the United States has a roll to play, … if the MSM will allow us.

Well said Henni....I wrote them all as well, only I wasn't as generous with my words.
I gave them links to Rendell passionately praising Farrakhan to speak to the hypocrisy of the Clinton Campaign and this link that shows how Bill Clinton's repealing of the Glass-Steagall ACT is responsible for the Foreclosure Crisis.
Link
I told them that we are receiving more credible news and information online and that breaking news does not come from television anymore. They are the last resort because they have chosen to resort to tabloid-type news.
I think they know these things, but its just too tempting to turn that tide on their own.
We just need to keep at them.
Again, your letter was very eloquently written!
Cheers!
Terri
