Hillary's War

In May 2007, months after declaring her run for the presidency, Hillary spoke out vocally against the war in Iraq for the first time in congress.

This was a far cry from her initial support of the war. Not only had she supported it when 23 of her fellow senators had not, she went further than almost ALL her democratic colleagues by claiming that Saddam was working with Al Qaeda, an untrue, republican talking point that scared many Americans into believing that invading Iraq was somehow linked to 9/11, though there was no evidence of this.

She did not read the National Intelligence reports, even though senators that had read it urged the others to do so, saying that the reports would prove that invasion of Iraq was unjustified.

Many colleagues believed that her support of the war was due to insecurity that she might not appear "tough" enough. Note that today, the same insecurities have been suspected as the reasoning behind her exaggerations about her role in Northern Ireland and Bosnia.

I don't mean to be a bother, but I donated $30 weeks ago and told my children, who are of mixed race, that you would send the DVD and limited edition print of future President Obama's "A More Perfect Union" speech on race in America.

I've since contributed more money, and would like to contribute more.

I know everyone in the campaign is busy. However, what can I tell my children? It's getting frustrating, for them and for me.

I've sent many emails and have gotten no reply other than the automated ones.

No more, Truth by repetition...
No more Fact by consensus.....

This war in Iraq is EXACTLY what the experts (the CIA, Pentagon) said it was going to be.

Fools rush in and that is what we did going into Iraq, so calling the people wanting this war stupid or arrogant fits the bill just fine.

The military commanders do not want unnecessary deaths, but right now, they are on the ground in Iraq, by order of President Bush. People are dying all around our troops and they cannot do much about it.

If the experts said it would be this way, why did we not take the time to create a better plan? I think I know part of the reasons: "politics".

The people wanting this war needed it to BEGIN quickly or it might never come to pass.

How unfortunate for our brothers and sisters in the military that they can be wasted along side of Iraqi people without a known, true and just cause.

If you don't think the public should be up in arms about the US involvement in Iraq then you’re not listening and all the while you will resort to name calling and bashing the dissent to protect your honor for supporting incompetent leaders who push cursory policies.

If you think this war in Iraq is a "war by all those who love freedom" you are sadly mistaken.

Iraq is a fool’s war. Getting out of the fools war will require the fools to be ousted, being replaced by folks who can actually reason.

We might not own Iraq but we certainly are paying for it.

My hopes and dreams of a united country are with Barack Obama.

Thanks for comments on my posting today, I appreciate the feedback and I have answered all of your comments. I have reposted my post from today followed by response:

I wake up today extremely disappointed in Senator Obama. I am sorry to see that he has allowed to media to pressure him into denouncing his own pastor. When will we learn not to give in to media pressure and to pressure the media? Too bad he was not able to see the trap laid by the republicans and corporate controlled media. By denouncing his pastor he has acquiesced to the media interpretation of Wrights “politician” comment and opened the door to future denouncements. He allowed the pastors words to be taken out of context and pandered to a certain element in American society who has long controlled the social agenda in this country.

Below is reponse to a comment:

Ironically it was blacks who did not stand with the Reverend. If blacks did not go on tv and act like this was foreign to them this would not have been a story. If we framed it in the proper context and not allow the media to do it for us this story would have been over months ago. It was indeed blacks who openly criticize Rev Wright, a respectable man, and those who are criticizing have never done even one tenth of the work he has done for the community. Some people wont get off their arses now and support Obama.

If blacks stood with Rev. Wright and Obama and showed love instead of respond to the hate This would have been over when it started. I still believe the denouncing is more a reflection on Obama than Wright, and could be used against Obama in general election because it now shifts from Rev. Wright to Obamas integrity. The question now become why did he stay there for twenty years, that question will continue to be asked.

While I still believe in Obama I am disappointed in his handling. I do not agree with Obama on everything, I might critique him but I still support him as the next president. My loyalty is not to Obama but America, and I do believe in Obamas ability to lead America. See, it is true one can disagree with someone and still respect them.

What Wright said was stupid, divisive, and filled with self-indulgence. He's in it for just himself, and he behaved like an idiot.

It's sad, but it's the truth. Obama will be his own man, and speak the TRUTH. Wright spoke lies, and suggested that Obama does not believe what he says. Obama showed he has spine, and I'm glad to see it.

I don't know about anyone else, but my heart is truely pained because of the Wright issue. I do pray that all Obama-Nites realize what great sacrifice that the Obama family has made in order to bring a better future for this Country. I know that Barack and Michelle hearts must ache, and we as supporters need to fully support the sacrifice that they have made. It would have been easy for Barack to not have spoken out, but we all know if he had not than the media would not have put this to rest. As it is the media still will talk about it, but at least Barack has stated what he believes. We all know how the media has spin the words of Rev. Wright. I do believe that their was an ultimate sacrifice that was made, and Barack had to not think about what was best for him, but what would be best for the entire Country. He is a man full of integrity, and a man with a huge heart who committed to this campaign. He is not selfish, so we must keep he and his family up in prayers.

Pollitikat whose judgement should we trust, yours or Senator Obama? You keep posting this REV. Wright problem regularly. What are you trying to accomplish? I'm an AA over 70yrs. My family members were with the Rev. until last Monday. That is when he lost our support. And there is nothing anyone can do about it. Senator Obama was right to cut him loose. He would've had to be one stupid politician to retain his friendship with REV. Wright after last Monday. Are you questioning Michelle's judgement also? Huston we have a problem. Goodnight.

MSNBC to watch Keith Olbermann. Tonight David Gregory's "Race for the WH" used the entire hour to discuss Rev. Wright and Obama. Pat Buchanan was one of his guests. Need I say more?

Matthews also spent an inordinate amount of time on this non-issue. He also showed a clip and mischaracterized Michelle Obama's excellent response to Meredith (Today Show tomorrow morn)when she was asked a question about Rev. Wright.

I am coordinating Ravalli Co. volunteers at a phone bank as I write this (I couldn't help but check the blogs LOL) and expect that we will make 1,000 local calls tonight to get out the vote for Senator Obama in our little Montana County

Feeling I MUST do more to help Barack, I started calling North Carolina today. I found I work a lot better if I just throw out the script and speak from my heart. I had a very impassioned conversation with a young woman. She was polite and thoughtful and I believe she did hear me, though I don't know what her final decision will be. I can hope! Anyway, just wanted to throw out the suggestion that sometimes the script can sound too.....scripted. I believe it is better to speak from the heart as if you were talking to a friend. Friends, we really need to make these calls. Please do all your can. Ground up!

Oh, I am so glad you brought this up!

I was calling Indiana, mostly disconnected numbers, But, I did stay on the line with a woman whose son I was looking for who by now has moved out to his own place of which she gave me his number--whose Teamsters Union is for Barrack.

Yet, she stayed on the line with me for almost an hour! I have been finding those folks in Indiana more than any other state I have called most informed about their own issues of which are a great many and clearly DC has left them hanging on almost every conceivable issue. They are sharper than tacks about what the problems are. However, sit on the fence and haven't been able to get the MESSAGES! Thank you ca-ca media et al. This woman is a farmer and had many questions of which I did find under issues and eventually we were on the phone so long my husband was getting unnerved about wanting dinner together--fresh scallops, fish and saffron rice folks! The woman pledged to go to BO's site and do her homework. I convinced her that I was but a phone call away anytime before her election. She admitted that she may not be able to decide until she gets into the booth. But she did engage and did listen and I listened and I believe I dispelled any remainding questions about his ability to deliver---at least enough because of the personal call unscripted she may vote with us. I tell you it is so important to make those calls. It is our job to do what the media won't and that is talk about the issues! She mentioned nothing about the scandals! Nothing. But that doesn't mean it wasn't on her mind. I pretty much said that the media has failed us by not focussing on the issues, etc.

I got the fiance of the son who was clearly for someone else. HRC or MC, but she listened so very patiently and politely at the few things I brought her way but would not engage, but did say she would take a look at BO's site and go to issues, where I said again she has my number to call me and why not make it a family time with the mother, son and her. She said yes!

Indiana is worth the time!

Representative Baron Hill of Indiana is also endorsing Mr. Obama. He is scheduled to make his announcement tonight at a rally in Bloomington.
Rep. Baron Hill praised Obama’s strength of character and commitment to our nation in the way he handled the Rev. Wright situation, adding that “One of the tests of a true leader is his ability and willingness to come to a new conclusion based on new events. Senator Obama did just that yesterday.”

Also, Representative Lois Capps of California, co-chairwoman of the Congressional Caucus for Women’s Issues and chair of the Democratic Women’s Working Group endorsed Obama.

Also, Representative Bruce Braley of Iowa announced his support for Obama. The eastern Iowa congressman endorsed JOHN EDWARDS late last year before the Iowa caucuses. Only weeks ago, he indicated he might wait until the Democratic convention to make his decision, but aides said after he saw the support for Mr. Obama last weekend at district conventions in Iowa, he changed his mind.

So was he concerned by the latest Rev. Wright controversy? “I think it would be safe to say he was not swayed by the Wright stuff,” a Democratic official familiar with the Iowa congressman’s thinking said by e-mail today. “He was swayed by the right stuff.”

Hillary is making speeches, and even made a commercial about a factory that closed years ago and blames George Bush for not doing anything to save it. But it was Bill Clinton who essentially approved the sale.

From what I understand Hillary has ads blaming the Bush Admin for allowing China to purchase this company Magnaquench which a) posed a security risk (because this company made the magnets that helped to guide the precision-guided missiles, the so-called smart bombs) and b) China ultimately closed the plant and shipped jobs overseas; More than 200 jobs were lost.

Reality, Bill Clinton's admin approved the sale of this company to China in 1995. Under the approved deal, Bill Clinton said China only had to keep the jobs stateside until 2005.

So Hillary is wrong to blame the Bush admin for this factory closure and for the security risk. The intellectual property that was given to the Chinese government (how to make the magnets) during the Clinton admin (that's what posed the security threat). This was something Bill Clinton achieved.

The positive energy tonight is really great--and I know this is no accident. Our country's establishment is scared because they know Barack will work to make this nation better for all of us--and they know that we will hold him to that promise.

Your not alone. My boyfriend is taking a nap now and am i happy. I just made another donation and i can read the blogs. He is for Obama, but he can't understand why i am soooooo addicted to the blog. At work i sneak to read, when i get home i just can't wait to see what's on the blog, and before i go to bed i check the blog. Ben,
I have a suggestion to incorporate into your summary, which I greatly appreciate. It continually reminds me to be positive because we are so close.

The more important number is 134 delegates needed to gain a majority of the pledged delegates. That majority should occur the week of the Kentucky-Oregon primaries, if not in West Virginia the week before.

Keeping up with the number needed to clinch the majority of pledged delegates is more important, imo, because I do not believe the Supers will overturn the will of the American people as evidenced by the delegate vote count, the way American elections are decided historically.

That Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton are both getting money from the Health and Pharmaceutical Industry. He didn't know which one was getting from which because he said it's flipped since February but he believes both are in the bag for the health industry and really won't be able to provide universal health care because of the money in the campaign.

My question is why do they continue to throw all the donations into one bag. I don't believe just because you have a spouse employed by a certain company should exclude you from taking part in democracy. It's like Moore holds the belief that you can be elected as President without money to run.

I did like the fact that he felt like Wright is being used a diversionary tactic.

I believe this is true because both plans are extremely lacking of real change in the way healthcare is provided. Both plans require you to purchase health insurance, so there is still a need for healthcare providers and HMO, etc.

What the people really want is a single payer system with the government as the provider. People could purchase additional health insurance but for preventative care like tooth cleanings, vaccinations, check up/well care visits, pap smears, those things should be free.

Keith O was brilliant as usual. Lots of support for Obama. Really beat Hillary up over her gas tax holiday, and her photo op riding in a Ford pickup followed by 6 SUVs with secret service, press, etc.

Really made Hillary look silly when he pointed out that Hillary paid for the half tank of gas--Hillary staged a stop...press and all....at a gas station--but Hillary didn't pump the gas and admitted to not having pumped gas in years because she has SECRET SERVICE limo service. They pump the gas.....how's that for elitist???

It was really good...
Keith led with the story of HRC's "gas pump" photo-op. He pointed out that the family that she "rode to work with" had to drive 45 minutes out of the way to her hotel, then get into an SUV that wasn't even the gentleman's car, drove to a pre-determined gas station and a pre-determined pump with media surrounding the pump & camera's aimed -- all the while she talked on the phone (doing a radio interview) -- never interacting with the guy or his family (wife and kids that were also in the truck). Sad.

Watching them on TV today:

Words unspoken but conveyed & understood with the briefest locking of two sets of deep & soulful brown eyes; the palpable love, respect, humor & commitment shared; the ease with which they share the space/energy around them; the strength you can FEEL she is providing him as he seems just the very slightest bit spiritually bruised by the events of the past few days - if for nothing else - I would still support him for the HOPE of the HEART he, they, show me, by their example.

And because of all of THAT it tells me everything I need to know about HIM as a man and thus, what kind of President he will be.

This type of relationship between a man & woman is one that many of us (ok, I’ll speak for myself) I, often wonder if it truly does exists: we read about it in fairytales; hear about it songs; see it in movies; but there is very little evidence of it’s reality around us. And we SURE as heck don’t see it in politics (The Reagan’s had it, but I wasn’t really paying attention to it I guess…until it was too late).

Some folks are lucky; they have found it. Others are still searching. Some may never find it. But there is always the HOPE that it is there. Because THEY have shown it to us in their image.

Seeing the Obama’s together - which we don’t get to see often enough - is so tender & heartfelt & inspirational. It makes me believe in things that go beyond politics.

It makes me believe in things I long ago stopped daring to believe in.

Their "story" is soooo American.....you know "work hard, get up everyday and work as hard as you can, keep your nose clean, and good things will happen to you." Yeah, that story, which we all strive to have a piece of.

I thought this was interesting. New Jersey was talking about temporarly suspending the state gas tax.This is Jon Corzine's response from an article in our paper. Corzine is NJ Govenor and big HRC supporter.

"I think there's very little that one can do in the short run. I don't think a holiday on gas tax collections is advisable given the financial condition of our state and our need to actually make investments that would cut down on congestion, improve mas transit and make the flow of traffic better."

Jon Corzine was also CEO of Goldman Sacks before Gov.

The article went on to mention McCain's and HRC's plan for a tax holiday and said Corzine questioned how the federal government could do that and continue meeting budget needs.

Writers note: Could be the smartest thing Corzine has said since becoming Gov. I believe he has hopes for a position in HRC cabinet.

I know that the country is struggling, and I believe that this "extra" money will mainly be going to necessities. However, this also represents a great opportunity for us to do good in the world.

This is my fundraising link. I feel that Senator Obama can help our economy. I have never campaigned before, but this has moved me from my cynicism and doubt. I've done hours of research and have no qualms. What better irony than to send Bush's "hush" money to the new administration?

However, remind everyone that only $5 can make a difference in our nation's future. If you don't (or can't) support Senator Obama because you are maxed out, underage, or in another country, you can still support a non-profit somewhere...in your own community...the Red Cross, NPR, Public Television, the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Food Banks, Animal Rescue Groups, March of Dimes, funds for schools, Big Brother and Sister programs, and education, hospitals, public servants, veterans....of course, if you are not a citizen or an adult, you probably won't be getting any bucks from Bush, but you can pretend.

We can make a difference.

All year long, we hear about various causes and are often unable to give. Now, we can, if only for a day. Billions of people could give the price of a cup of coffee and change our world for the better. If you care about a particular organization or cause, take this time to ask for a small bit of help from friends and family and coworkers.

A few months ago, my sister knew nothing about Barack. She asked me questions, checked the news, and now she is completely behind Barack 100 percent. I was showing her the cookbook that Maria set up for all of us, and was quite impressed. She is now considering donating for the first time. She won't be able to do it tonight, but she gets paid next Friday. It's tough for all of us right now money wise, so it will be a small amount, but I told her any little bit helps.
What's funny is, Clinton supporters are always saying the only people that vote for Barack are African Americans, students, and prius driving-latte sipping kinda people. And yet, here is my family, all pretty poor, and they are all supporting Barack and can't donate much. But the family members that have the money to donate, they are staunch republicans and have no interest in Barack. It just goes to show that the class issue that they are trying to bring up is so wrong.

I just read Karl Roves article and I must say he has some valid points. Although Karl has been working for the Bush administration he has a keen political mind. This is not to say that Obama’s current advisors do not, I think they are even better than Mr. Rove. With that said, Obama MUST Keep It Simple (KIS). I am going to give some very simple advice which plays on some of the main points of Mr. Rove’s article.

Number one The Economy: Senator Obame must KIS: utilize the words, OBAMA TAX CUTS. It cuts through the malarkey and gets to the point of exactly how the senator will help the everyday American. We can talk about every specific point under the sun; however, people will now be able to articulate exactly why they support Obama. Quite simply he will “Cut Our Taxes.” Cutting taxes is as American as apple pie. We went to war against the greatest nation of the time (England) because of taxes. Use it!

Number two The War: Senator Obama must KIS: utilize the words, “IT’S OVER!” Let the American people know that come January 15, 2009 you will sign an executive order (Yes DAY ONE) declaring the Iraqi war over and we will begin an immediate draw down. The generals will complete a report by February 15, 2009 as to exactly how they will implement the order and with American security interest at heart we will begin an orderly withdrawal process.

Number three Security: Senator Obama must KIS: utilize the words, “OSAMA MUST GO!” Never again will a terrorist organization be allowed to fester to the point of attacking our nation. We will go to Afghanistan and settle this problem once and for all.

We will review NCLB, make necessary changes to make it more comprehensive and non test exclusive driven, but withhold accountability standards and keep an open mind toward advancing our educational system.

Number six and your strongest Message Unification: Senator Obama must KIS: utilize the words, “ WE STAND UNITED” repeat your message. Democrats, republicans, blacks, whites, blue states red states we are ONE nation and We Stand United. Let everyone know that yes fair minded republicans will be a part of your administration and we will work together as Americans to solve our problems Group Think will not persist in your administration and we will solve our nation’s problems and move it forward.

Number Seven Energy: Senator Obama must KIS: utilize the words, “Free by 2020” Let the American people know that we will set the ambitious goal of being fossil fuel free by 2020. Forget the foreign oil ploy, that’s only a veil way to start drilling in Alaska. Let the people know that we will invest in the ingenuity of the American people to invent our way out of this problem and make a commitment to fund investment into alternative energy.

Sorry but I am too excited not to repost this:

Since last October, I've been donating to the Obama campaign. Every time I donated, I asked my BF to join me in matching my donation. He'd yes me to death and then would never carry thru. Not even the luring of being "One in a million" t-shirt convinced him to donate. He thought Obama had lots of donors and his wouldn't make much of a difference.

Well, tonight, after 6 months of 'nagging' LOL, he finally donated $100!!!! I AM SO SHOCKED I COULD CRY! I did ask what he wanted in return! LOL!!! He says he's more proud than ever about Obama and feels that after so many months of watching him (he did vote for him in the NJ primary), he decided that with everything going on that Obama deserved his support. He wishes he could give more but $$ needs to be tightly managed given the state of the economy.

I know it may not mean a lot for anyone else but I felt compelled to share this with you. People are coming out of the woodworks for Obama and more than ever we need to be there for him.

Thank you for reading this! I'm so excited with this donation that I don't know how I am going to wind down for the evening! LOL

Someone earlier proposed that we contact all the Super D's and thank them when they back Obama. Below is a reply to an email I sent to a gentleman who maintains a congressional contacts web site where I asked him why he could not just list their email addresses rather than refer us to their web sites since, if you are not a constiuent, many of the web sites will not let you use the email form. I stated that as Super D's, they needed to be accessible to the public for our opinions before they cast their votes/endorsements. Here is what he had to say. Perhaps we need to be careful in our contacts of these Super D's office staff to offer thanks so that we don't get them in trouble inadvertently (since they apparently are not supposed to respond to such contacts.

HI there,
I want to make it clear, I am not defending their filtering of
incoming mail to just constituents, but I want to explain the laws
they are working with. The U.S. is set up in the Constitution as a
Representative Republic, which means each member of Congress
represents a constituency. House and Senate Rules reflect this and
direct members who receive non-constituent communications to forward
it to a member who represents the sender. This creates a burden on
the office staff, so they avoid it by blocking such communications at
their website.
They use websites instead of real email due to spam problems.

That said, if you want to communicate with the (presumably)
Democratic Superdelegates, it is in fact INAPPROPRIATE for them to use
their office resources to respond. House and Senate rules are strict
about campaigning. So strict it leads to stupid things like members
taking a walk outside the building to place campaign related calls on
cell phones (which have to be paid for with separate funds than any
cell phone paid for by their Capitol Hill office).

Again, I don't defend the rules, but I am trying to explain them.

I would suggest you talk to the district office staff, they might tell
you of an appropriate way to let superdelegates know your opinion.

Fabulous. This is the direction Obama needs to take. I have loads of faith in the man, beginning from when I read Audacity of Hope, which outlined in very specific terms the policy direction he wants to take.

I think a problem now is that people perceive he's "soft" and doesn't offer substance on the issues. Things like this are what will persuade people. Slam dunk. Keep going with it.

I deeply want someone from the Obama campaign to investigate a possible connection between Wright and the Clinton's; I really think that a "under-the-table" pay off to Wright through the Clinton's.

Bringing about the Wright problem/issue between the connection to Senator Obama recently; how convenient. Someone from the Clinton campaign or Hillary and Bill have paid the Reverend to stir up a connection to Wright and Obama's beliefs, which do not apply here.

I would have never have switched from being a life-long-white 67-female-staunch republican would I ever have voted for Senator Obama had I not believed in Senator Obama's beliefs and convictions to improving the way that our government/policies chanbe for the common good of all Americans.

I have donated a fair amount of money to Senator Obama's campaign with the hopes of bringing about change in the way our government runs and the lack of interest in and changing from being lackluster with our citizens and their needs.

It just makes me sick just thinking that Hillary or Mc Cain being at the helm and controlling all of us. Being a good citizen and others involved in Senator Obama's efforts; we simply cannot allow us to happen and if we are defeated; just wait until Hillary controls all of us with her manical methods. We are in for a rough landing.

SOMEONE HELP FURTHER THE INVESTIGATION BEFORE WE LOOSE ALL THAT WE HAVE INVESTED IN OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN AND SERVE US AS OUR PRESIDENT.

I find myself thinking about this man who wants to help our country. I'm thinking about his loving mama,Ann,waking him up early every morning to study, and the many times he longed for his father to be there for him. Now he had to speak out against the ego of a pastor who he also said was once like family to him.
God help us accept this chance for a kinder world, a better world. Let us throw off anxiety and self centeredess and embrace hope. Help us stay focused on all that is possible when we work together.

Rev. Wright was probably the closest "black male" relationship Obama had.

To denounce him was probably more difficult for Obama than we will ever know.

Interesting that Michelle Obama joins him on the trail the very next day after he "ejects" Rev. Wright. He needed her support today!!!!

1) First, Larry admits CNN has been giving a great amount of face time to Hillary Clinton
2) Clips of Hillary and Bill O'Reilly are shown and then Michael comments (Bill hit Hillary pretty good and has some stumbles in the clips)
3) Michael is direct and so very on point regarding Hillary ..and BLUNT!
4) Michael is eloquent about Obama.

It pained me to turn on CNN but this is very well worth it. Check the rerun at 9pm Pacific/12 Midnight Eastern and have your spirits uplifted!

Here is an idea to help Senator Obama reach out to the working class voters that everyone seems to think he can’t connect to….

My idea is simple.

1) Have the Campaign get some of the people from Senator Obama’s Community Organizing Days to do a commercial about how Senator Obama changed their lives by helping them find the resources necessary to improve their situation in life.

2) Have those people be regular working class people still today…(middle income, lower income )
i.e. White, AA, Latino, etc. (all types that Senator Obama helped) so that regular working class people in IN, NC, & the rest of the Country see, first hand, that he has made a Change in their lives because they got retooled, re-schooled, or (he & they) addressed issues that affected their individual areas of employability.

3) Make sure that they state that during the Clinton administration that everything seemed to be going in the right direction. (This will remove the issue of Pres. Clinton’s legacy being destroyed and Hillary will not be able to respond negatively because she wants to use that experience in her campaign)

4) Then have them state about how much things have changed since George W. Bush became President and the War in Iraq has affected them either personally or people they know as well as the economy (as a result of that war).

5) Then have them say how much they personally know that Senator Obama works across all divides to just simply help people “help” themselves. That they know he is the best candidate for President because he has been there in the real trenches of life with them, even though he may seem like all the rest of the politicians, he is not. He chose to take on student loan debt and work hard everyday to help people at a local level.

6) Make sure that they state that he is able to not only provide solutions that helped them at a local level brought about by changes that Washington enacted when there was a different Party in the White House, but he was also able to move past the barriers that those same Washington laws create by working across both isles, Rep. & Dem. at the State & Federal level.

This will take care of several issues in this campaign and the GE.

They will not be able to slight him because those people will state the facts of what it has been like for a lot of working families in America.

They will not be able to say he is going negative or desperate, just stating the facts that most Americans live with day in and day out over the last 8+ years.

This type of commercial will stop all sides.

They can’t say that things weren’t better for these people when Pres. Clinton was in office, compared to Pres. Bush.

They can’t say that Senator Obama didn’t work hard to make changes once Pres. Bush got into power.

They can’t say that Senator Obama is not a fighter.

They can’t say that Senator Obama has not spent his entire adult life working towards making things better for the average, working class American.

They only thing they can say is that he went about it a different way…from the ground up, instead of the top down, like most politicians that think they know what it is like to be a regular working class American.

Just my thoughts on how to move this forward and win this nomination!

Someone posted earlier today about the Superdelegate Ben Chandler who had received only 5 phone calls from Obama supporters to thank him for his endorsement of Barack, but had received 300 negative calls from people attacking him for his endorsement.

Obama supporters have rallied with phone calls of support and with donations to Ben Chandler. I gave him $25 myself. We have given nearly $15,000 to Ben Chandler today thru an ActBlue link on the internet.

Here's how I feel about it: I will support any superdelegate who supports Barack. We will not forget them when they run for reelection - we need to support them when they take heat for standing up and doing the right thing.

I really like the way the campaign is handling the Wright issue. John Kerry did it today; previews of the Today Show has the Obamas handling it the same way - FREEZE OUT THE MEDIA.

I heard one talking head say that you have to "numb" the media and eventually they'll talk it out amongst themselves and have to stop asking.

Make the ISSUES the shiny metal object that the MSM is so fond of chasing.

RSS As she campaigns throughout Indiana, Sen. Hillary Clinton has been talking quite a bit about Magnequench, a Valparaiso, Ind., factory that moved to China.

Clinton cries foul over factory closing. But could her husband have stopped it?"We've got to elect a president next January who's going to remember Magnequench," Clinton told voters in Valparaiso on April 12.

It seems, however, that when it comes to Magnequench there's quite a bit that Clinton has conveniently forgotten.

"We went to Valparaiso," Clinton told voters in Princeton, Ind., last night, "where there used to be a plant called Magnequench that made the magnets that helped to guide the precision-guided missiles, the so-called smart bombs. You've seen those — they take off, they go down the chimney, they were incredibly sophisticated and these magnets, you know — not the kind you put on the refrigerator, like we all do — but these really sophisticated magnets were instrumental making that happen."

Clinton continued, saying, "Well, a Chinese company bought Magnequench and then they decided that they were going to move the whole company from Indiana to China. Now the president of the United States has the authority to veto that kind of a move, but Senator [Evan] Bayh begged the Bush administration not to export it — it was going to lose jobs but it was also going to lose the know-how, the technical sophistication that created those magnets. President Bush and his administration wouldn't, basically wouldn't even give Evan Bayh the time of day. Those jobs left, and along with them went the savvy to make the magnets."

4 Days of Prayer for Barack: May 2-3, 5-6 | Report to Admin

Hi team,

We have 2 primaries coming up shortly: on May 3 and May 6. My family plans to have a day of prayer for Barack on the day of each primary and on the day before. Please join us in 4 days of prayer for Barack on Fri, May 2 - Sat, May 3 and also Mon, May 5 - Tue, May 6. Please structure the prayer according to your preference (individual prayer, group prayer, prayer 2 times a day, prayer 3 times a day, etc).

Someone said in an email some months ago that Hillary has some serious prayer warriors in her camp. Apparently, they prayed for Hillary all day on the Tuesday of the New Hampshire primary and also the night before. It may be their prayers that caused her unexpected win in New Hampshire. As the apostle Paul wrote, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but … against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).

Let us cast aside doubts and remember the words of Jesus: “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). We have to believe that God will grant our requests, not only that He is able to grant them.

To echo someone’s comments previously, let us also pray for Hillary Clinton - that she will re-assess the choices she has made and that she will allow God to make her the woman He wants her to be. I’m confident that God will cause her to lose this nomination, not just for America’s sake but for Hillary’s own sake - a severe jolt to push her to look at herself in the mirror and change course. I will be posting reminders of the days of prayer.

I always had a feeling that this was part of Obama's plan: To create an active grassroots network and use it as a counterweight to the pressures from the monied lobbies that so dominate Washington, D.C. Implicit in this is that he expects us to keep him honest, because he knows no one can control 2 million people who for a year have been hearing and repeating that change comes from the bottom up. It's exciting to hear him put it into words explicitly. An Obama administration will not be perfect -- none is -- but it will so, so different from anything we've had lately, and certainly from what we could expect from Clinton or McCain.

For those who don't know, my name is Cris and I'm a Cuban-American who supports Barack Obama.

Delegate Count | Report to Admin

So far, Senator Obama received 8 delegates this week, Clinton received 4.2 and rounded it off to 5. Seriously, in Pennsylvania Clinton beat Obama by 9.2 points She and the media rounded it off to 10 points so that it can register as double digits. Why in the world are people saying it was a blow out? This does not make any mathematical sense. Oh, and that 3am morning call, her own husband said (referring to the Bosnia statement) that at age 60, she can hardly remember anything past 11pm. So, if she is that tired at 11pm, how in the world will she be able to hold an intelligent conversation at 3am with staff or a foreign diplomat? Twelve years of the Bushes and eight years of the Clintons is enough. Honestly, I respect John McCain, but this is not his time. I wish him well. This is Obama's time! God bless America!!!

Excellent idea for using his campaign organization as a power-to-the-people potent vehicle for "change" if he becomes president. This is almost Grecian in its democratic scope.

Barack has many positives going for him in this campaign, as we know. So does Hillary. I saw her on O'Reilly Wed. nite, and as usual, she is a fact machine; she shut O'Reilly up by countering his arguments with facts (whether actually factual or not; there was nobody around to refute her).

Whether Barack takes the O'Reilly challenge is up to him, of course; Barack should not leave the impression he can be jerked around -- a puppet-like follower rather than a leader who's his own man -- by debate challenges from Hillary or from O'Reilly. I do believe, however, he has to become more fact-oriented in his speeches, interviews and debates, and less hesitant in his speaking; it makes him seem dumber than Hillary if he doesn't.

He keeps defining the problem (health care, unemployment, home forclosures, trade imbalance, Iraq war costs, need for alternative fuels, etc.) but offers few, if any solutions, except to occasionally say: "Go to my website." Not good enough; in his speeches, interviews and debates, he must match Hillary detailed solution for detailed solution. Everybody knows what the problems are already.

All candidates should address the national debt and annual $400-billion budget deficits Bush has been running. None of them has, and the debt Bush is running up is running the U.S. so deep into the red that even future generations of taxpayers might not be able to remedy it. And this after Bill Clinton left Bush a budgetary surplus. Disgraceful.

Win, lose or draw, I'm an Obama guy.

Hillary Clinton is a polished and professional liar...she has given her performances longer than Barack is old...too many people are impressed by her unchecked lies...this is why she gets away with the unthinkable...

Hillary Clinton is dangerous...it's scary...she talked about killing millions of people and starting World War III without blinking an eye...she was smooth... I was not impressed...Barack does not need to be like Hillary Clinton....

Barack has offered solutions...I have been listening...many Americans have been listening...we do not need a total detailed plan rolled out...

Everyone does not know or understand the problems that we face...Bill and Hillary Clinton left deals, agreements and laws behind that are hurting many Americans today...they have benefited from payoffs associated with these deeds and deals since leaving the White House...Bill Clinton was no hero...see...Bill Clinton left no budgetary surplus...because he said budget surplus did not make it true...he is a liar and there is no proof...

Hillary Clinton is counting on the less educated and the poor to gain ground and control of this country...but, her unchecked lies may look smooth, but she is practicing for:

How can they say he's elitist! He's so authentic, so easy to talk with, so open to listening to others. His ideas are practical, not "fairytales". He's whom we need to lead this country, "from the ground up", as he says, getting us all involved. They say he's not a fighter!
He fights smart, not losing his cool, never forgetting his goal in the heat of the moment. He's even-tempered, mature, and almost too patient. I'm afraid there aren't enough smart people in the U. S. to vote for him. What an opportunity will be lost. So sad. I'm 76, and I'm afraid I won't have him for my President. Why can't we elect a smart person, for a change?

Looking to the future -- I think that what Barack has said here is very important for the voters to know. We know, in the past, that no President has done or talked about what he/she wants to provide for the American people with regard to information or involvement. They get elected and disappear except to speak to us through our television sets. Barack needs to get the word out beyond this web site that we so faithfully monitor into the home of the voters. I know it is somewhat simplistic, but voters want simple messages.

Loose the water bottle.

If you are trying to connect with rural voters, don't walk around with a water bottle when a camera is in range. The other evening images were on tv of Senator Obama on a factor floor walking with rolled up shirt sleves with a water bottle. Get someone to carry it for you. The image does not connect for rural voters that many still drink tap water. On stage it may be a must, but not on a farm or factory floor.

Also when doing a photo op, get someone that knows how its done. Or it comes across as fake. Case in point. One doesn't feed a calf throught the fence. We respect a "city" fellow that doesn't feed calves. We are turned off by the fakeness of a politician pandering.

There needs to be as much thought going into making a Norman Rockwell moment in a cafe as into the placement of posters at a gather of 15,000 in a stadium. The stadium may be easier to display. But don't let too many get involved as Senator Clinton's "let me show that I'm filling up your gas tank, but really I don't pump gas and all I'm going to do is pay for it. OH! Also I'm just going to have you drive me. I'm going to do a radio interview while you drive. Really I'm just going to use you as a prop." American's can see all this in one clip.

"Oh! I really don't know how to use a coffee machine in a gas station, but I'm not elistist."

Yesterday was a real turning point. Michelle was great. Senator Clinton made many mistakes. The Reverend Wright was put to rest by the campaign.
