The feed that I was watching just cut off on me! It was like 20 mins behind as it was (Joe was in the midst of his "that's more of the same lines") and the thing switched to some news program!!

On top of that, because it was so far behind I found out about Barack coming out with him long before I had the chance to be surprised and see it for myself--but now I can't even watch that until the video is posted later. Ughhhhh

Gov. Pawlenty effectively took himself out of the running for Republican VP by praising Barack for his positive campaign and saying he thinks it's a mistake to run an all-out negative campaign against Barack. McCain's decision to run an all-out negative campaign against Barack means that Romney will be his VP.

WOW...he is ticked at Chuck Todd for his discription/timing of the Storm heading our way.
Todd was out of line and I'm glad he was called out on it.

Chuck Todd is ludicrous. Somebody told him he "gets it" and he thinks he does. But he doesn't. I think Chris and Keith have been pretty good - after C-SPAN goes off, I like to check back to see what they're up to. Until somebody else comes on and messes with my mind. LOL.

I've always thought Chuck T. is the best numbers guy on tv, especially during the primary. He should stick to numbers and interpreting what the trends indicate!

He is NOT an analyst! Not that the others are either, except Keith O. and Rachel. When Tim died that's when Chuck stepped up or was moved up in an attempt to compete for Tim's job I think.

Stick to the nubers Chuck; he's not even comfortable trying to talk politics.

If I may be so bold to say, Chuckie T started to become unglued after Russert passed away.

Chuck has been looking to open a vein somewhere in the Dem party ever since.

Not sure why he feels the needs to go so blantantly negative--almost inserting it at the most inopportune times--just jams it in whenever he speaks--kind of like when McCain always jams in he was a POW whenever anyone asks a question about the price of pie.

Yeah Chuck aint no Russert he should go to Fix News--he probably got pissed when Rachel was offered her own gig and he wanted Russerts....etc.

I watch C-Span for all this Convention stuff as well and then tune in at the end for a bit of KO

4. Introduce your community and testify as to why you support Obama.
5. Write editorials to your local newspapers.
6. Write MSM when they support the lies.
7. Donate
8. Fight email smears.
9. Last but not least. Invite your friends and families to sign up and volunteer.

I believe that Barack Obama is not only destined to be president but will be an integral part of healing the policies that have weakened our economy, cost too many American lives, and fractured our whole country into a vulnerable, broken constituency.
It is so crucial that Barack Obama lead the Democrats to victory in November. Now I had heard that Joe Biden was a hard-working representative along the lines of Ted Kennedy. If Barack and his team want Joe Biden then that is enough for me.
Since I have supported Barack almost since the inception of his campaign, I can only tell you that his integrity, and his truthful, measured, thoughtful approach gives me such hope and courage to speak out to support him. I trust him, his decisions and his judgement.
Joe Biden, I am going to try to extract from you a solemn pledge. Repeat after me: I, Joe Biden, promise to do everything in my power to secure the presidency for Barack Obama, the hopemonger, truth-seeker, brilliant thinker, hard-worker, honorable servant of the people, so help me God.
Promise it to the American people and promise it to me,Joe, because it is such a significant election, such a time of turmoil and trepidation in our land today, that nothing but extreme loyalty and steadfastness will do.
I almost feel that the task at hand is so overwhelming and will be so demanding, that it will need a brilliance, youth, vitality, and concentration that only, ONLY Barack can provide. We are on the cusp of losing it all - of losing the strength that has underlined our whole history - the history of our whole country - and only the best and the brightest will do. That is Barack. And that is now you, Joe.
In closing, we are depending on you. So we take it on with you, Joe, we are your supporters and your stalwart admirers and we will help lift you up like we have lifted Barack. As Barack went overseas and started to find supporters there we can do this together. We are waiting for your leadership and your words of strength and confirmation. The consensus amongst PBS commentators is this was a good strong night for the Dems particularly with appearances of President Clinton, Joe Biden and Barack Obama. They feel Biden made a good connection between Bush and McCain. Also dems are going after the republicans on values. The feeling is this puts tremendous pressure on McCain to distance himself from Bush by possibly choosing Joe Lieberman.

Over at CNN Jeffery Tubbin in contrast feels Biden made the weakest speech of which I whole heartedly disagree.

These guys don't seem to see the same convention that we do.

I loved Biden and Kerry. Both gave the hard evidence that Obama is much LESS risky than McCain on foreign policy.

But it was Bill Clinton that was utterly impressive. He made the case for Obama, point by point, in crystal clarity and in complete sincerity. Definitely one of his best speeches ever, from my perspective. In relative contrast, his wife's speech was tepid.

By far, our best night yet! But Brokaw much have been watching something else.

Better yet, write them THEN turn them off! They will never change as long as people watch them. CSPAN, PBS, TV1 and the live feed were excellent alternatives with no commercials and most of all, no talking heads to tell you what was good or bad.

Obama supporters on the move, going where campaign might not

Bill and Dixie (Snobl) Johnson of Anaconda, Mont., made a stop in Marshall on Monday morning with their ObamaCart.
MARSHALL - Bill Johnson has been involved in politics for 30 years, but the past few days on the road has been "the most fun I've had in politics in 30 years."

Johnson and his wife, Dixie, the former Dixie Snobl of this region, passed through Marshall on Monday with a Barack Obama campaign cart on top of a snowmobile trailer. The couple left Divide, Mont., for Unity, N.H., a few days ago and were headed to Iowa on Monday night.

The Johnsons have named their trip the "Divide to Unity" campaign because they believe Obama will do that for the country.

So far, Obama has even brought family members from different political parties together, Johnson said. His brother-in-law Dan Snobl of Marshall has been a "staunch Republican" all his life but this year Dan Snobl supports Obama, Johnson said.

The Johnsons brought their cart, with the wheels made from cable wire spools, to the Snobls along with a red, white and blue smaller wheel painted in support of Obama for the Snobls' yard.

The cart is removed from the trailer at various stops along the country.

The Johnsons were at a rally at Concordia College in Moorhead on Sunday night.

The wooden wheels have begun to show the wear of being wheeled at rallies.

Students also started signing their names on the wheels.

The Johnsons want their cart trip to reach the folks in small towns, because they are small town people.

"We want to show it's reaching out to everyone, not just the elite," Dixie Johnson said.

"...to get to places where the campaign isn't...," Johnson said.

They've enjoyed meeting the people and seeing the countryside, Johnson said.

"It's just been beautiful so far," Johnson said.

Johnson had been a Democrat much of his life, but had become an Independent a few years back. He was a John McCain supporter eight years ago but didn't get to vote for him in the primary in Montana, Johnson said.

When he heard Obama speak of how the U.S. is not red or blue states but needs to be a United States, Johnson said he was encouraged.

The country needs to "get away" from politics as normal, Johnson said. Obama will do that, he said.

"Both of these guys running are patriotic Americans," Johnson said. "We just need to get away from the garbage..."

The Johnsons will be in Manhattan Thursday when Obama gives his speech.

They will meet with a Harvard professor in Unity with whom they've connected on the Internet and discussed and planned the "Divide to Unity" trip.

Good evening all. Today's mile total is 1680. Left Iowa and traveled through Wisconsin into Illinois today. Spending the night in Evanston near Chicago. Media alerts, the Dacorah,Iowa and Janesville, Wisconsin papers did interviews and took photos today.

Laura, like Meg the night before, was a wonderful host. She greeted us with a good breakfast and conversation before we got off to a rather late start this morning.

At Decorah we had an interview with the local paper. These local papers are really underrated. Those of us who have small town papers really should appreaciate the hard work they do.

After some wondering around in Wisconsin and taking a few roads not in our atlas we arrived at the town of Hollandale, Wisconsin, population less than 300. It was after noon so we thought this is just the place to meet some folks and get a quick bite. As soon as the trailer with the ObamaCart was parked a gentleman and his grown son approached.

"I have only one thing to tell you about Obama," he said. "I have written him three times and he has never written back. So when you see him find out why. I wrote Hillary too, and she never wrote back. I wrote Edwards and I think I caused him to get out of the race."

He went on to explain that he had to leave Illinois after he wrote the Illinois State Chief Justice. He told us that securtiy had asked him not to write the justice anymore, and if they had to arrest him, he would die in prison, so he now lives in Wisconsin.

So, Senator Obama, if you or one of your aids reads this, there's a man in Hollandale, Wisconsin who would like a letter.

Dixie and I then retired to a bar-cafe and enjoyed lunch and conversation. If you have a chance stop by. It is the only eating place in town.

We made contact with the paper in Janesville, Wisconsin and after some further exploration of uncharted Wisconsin highways we had a wonderful conversation with Frank Schultz and a photographer. During the interview, which was in a parking lot, a man drove up and proudly showed us his bumper sticker which read "Too Poor To Vote Republican" and we had

I have one of those tire gauges the McCain campaign was passing out to mock Obama's energy plan. I use it to show the difference between the two candidates. Barack has ideas about what we, as individuals, can to to help alleviate the pain of high gas prices. Do you realize that keeping your tires properly inflated will save you just about the same amount as McCain's tax holiday? About 15 cents a gallon. The difference is Obama expects us to do something to help ourselves. Where the Republicans seem to feel that if the government or big business doesn't do it, it just isn't worth the effort.

Those who took Obama's advice are currently saveing 15 cents a gallon. Those who accept McCain's program are still waiting for the government to help them.

I was always sorry he allowed himself to be "handled" during his run for POTUS--he didn't come off as we know him from Massachusetts.

By the by folks he is up for re-election this November with a party contender running against him--they do always try every now and then against him and Teddy, yet not to be taken for granted. Yesterday, my son turned 7 years old. He was just 2 weeks old the morning I woke up to feed him and change his diaper and was interrupted by Katie Couric saying that an airliner had crashed into the WTC. As we soon realized that America was under attack and I watched brave firefighters and police run into burning skyscrapers to save lives, as I watched those buildings tumble down on them, I remember thinking "what kind of world have I just brought this child into?"

As I sat rocking my child watching the world so quickly change right before my eyes, I wondered what type of future my newborn would have, what type of world he would inherit.

7 years and one day later, we stayed up together to watch as Barack Obama was named the Democratic Party Nominee. As scared as I was for the future of my child the morning of Tuesday September 11, 2001, I am so happy and proud that on this night, I held him in my arms as I had 7 years ago with a much happier heart, much brighter outlook, and a much renewed confidence in the world that he will inherit.

There is a lot of work to do between now and Nov.4th to make sure that my children and yours inherit a more perfect union and an even greater United States of America. Let's Get to Work!!!

Thank you to all the delegates, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Sen. Kennedy, John Kerry, Joe Biden, Gov. Schweitzer, Rep. Kucinich and of course Barack and Michelle Obama and all those who have come together to show that no ego, no one person, no corporate media comes before country. Well done to you all!

The campaign really needs to get more people like Michael Wilson out there as surrogates for the campaign.

He and Patrick Murphy were very effective as was Tammy Duckworth.

Biden really won me over tonight (and this is coming from someone who was not happy about him as the VP pick).

I am proud to say I NOW understand why Barack picked him and I humbly approve of the choice.

I was wrong...

...And I'm not ashamed to say so.

We are going to win this thing.

But we really need to reach out to independents and conservatives and paint McCain as dangerous because he will be out there trying to portray Barack as weak.

The campaign should run an ad with 19 Iraq war veterans saying that McCain voted against bills that would have helped veterans...

...19 TIMES!

I saw a post you left earlier about Pawlenty. I could be wrong but I think McCain IS going to pick him and that could pose a problem for us. Pawlenty comes off as a compassionate conservative in a true sense and in many ways is the Kaine or Schweitzer of the republican party which isn't a bad thing on the surface for Independents and Republicans that we need to win over to win in the fall.

My personal feeling all along has been that McCain would pick Condi or Powell to cut into Barack's African American support but seeing how the MSM called Biden very early and accurately (shockingly and not something I'm happy about to this day) it will more likely than not be Pawlenty or Romney.

We would destroy Romney (and the two of them together reinforces this campaign's economic message).

Hutchison is out because she doesn't like McCain at all.

And Lieberman is too good to be true for us (we would destroy him as well). Democrats AND Republicans hate him.

So its Pawlenty I think.

I watched Bill Clinton & Joe Biden on C-Span and I thought they both did one terrific and fantastic job for our Party... but I had to double check with my Magic Media to tell me what to think! Boy, was my thinking way off again! LOL

Way to go Democrats! We got McCain and the media really having to lie in hopes to win but it will not work this time... and NEVER again!

i'm sure (and this is why i won't watch) that the republicans will not say a SINGLE good word about obama next week at all. i think everyone who spoke here prefaced mccain remarks with how much he is good man and a friend, even bill clinton.

the repugs won't be so friendly. my only hope is that it backfires and exposes them for the nasty, racist, people most of them are.

Yeah MSNBC's coverage was suspect all night.

They never showed any of the war veterans (i.e. Patrick Murphy and the republican admiral) or Chet Edwards.

Those voices need to be heard for us to win in November.

I am watching CSPAN 99% of the time. I go to MSNBC and CNN after all the speeches are over, to hear some of the comments and interviews. Rachel was great tonight when she said McCain's day of announcing his running mate coincides with the anniversary of Katrina.

One thing that disappointed me about MCNBS- and Keith O., believe it or not- they kept criticizing the dems for not attacking McCain more. Now I would love to watch McShame being attacked, but I think the constant attack may turn off voters. I liked the variety, and some of the attacks (esp. by Kerry, Biden, Clintons) were great.

Is anyone surprised that Larry King Live is covering ONLY the republican reactions? I found it very strange. CNN just had to give the repugs opportunity to spew the venom. I sent an email to CNN criticizing this.

I am surprised to hear so many anti-Obama phone calls coming to C-SPAN. What's going on here?

I"ll post this again -- do not I repeat -- do not watch any of the MSM programs: CNN, MSNBC, FAux News, esp. during the Democratic Convention. Keep your channel on C-Span. C-Span broadcasts every little bit of the convention, WITHOUT THE MINDLESS SO-CALLED ANALYSIS of those boring, biased, no-nothing talking heads. Another good place to watch -- PBS. They have analysts who ACTUALLY analyze and don't throw in biased opinions.

And Yes, JOHN KERRY was EXCELLENT, PERFECT and FIRED UP!

However, the point being made here is that it doesn't matter whether we watch MSN or not--at your own risk.

It is important to note that the public at large watches it and yet didn't get to SEE it!
