We live…about a mile from the Washington, DC border. Our neighborhood is full of politically active, yet busy professionals, and we thought something should be done to bring everyone together. Our goal is for our neighbors, of all ages, careers, political affiliations and political interests to meet each other and learn how they can get involved locally. This should be a fantastic opportunity for people to get to know others in the community and to help Obama win November.We are nearing our maximum capacity of 125 people. While we sent an invitation to a handful of our friends, the overwhelming majority of the folks attending are those we have never met and signed up via the website. This is a great example of web-based networking and how a common interest can bring a community together.
