The Iowa caucuses are approaching quickly! The success of this campaign has been fueled by the dedication of our loyal and hardworking volunteers! Now, more than ever, we need volunteers to phone bank or take a trip to Iowa to canvass for Barack!
The road to the White House starts here – let’s make sure Senator Obama’s message reaches voters across America!!! One of our volunteers, Brian, wrote in to tell us why he has spent so much time working for Senator Obama. We hope this story will help inspire more Illinoisans to get involved this month!
Barack Obama has inspired me to get involved and try to mobilize other supporters. I have gone on bus trips to canvass in Iowa and have participated in phone banks locally. I have met many wonderful people throughout my volunteer efforts as well. I feel empowered and will feel a great sense of pride when Barack Obama is elected President. I will know I played my small part in making that happen.I wanted to get involved with Senator Obama's presidential campaign, but I didn't realize the impact it would have on my life as a whole. Because of my association with the campaign, I have decided to get involved locally as well. I am running for McLean County Circuit Clerk. I will be able to use the skills I learned as a volunteer for Obama to help in my own campaign.I am very excited to be helping out with the campaign and look forward to making calls and spending time in Iowa for the caucus!
