Senator Clinton...
I am saddened you have neither the wisdom nor decency to be as honorable as your opponent. While you will undoubtedly come up with some new metrics to justify staying in the campaign, I think you are ignoring the other metrics you SHOULD consider... and graciously end this waste of focus and other resources for a campaign that can not succeed. Senator Obama is far too much the refined gentleman to bluntly confront you with reality. I am not.
The image of you early today standing in front of your red faced husband was sad. It should have only been sad, watching a determined campaigner end a valiant effort to become President. Instead, we witnessed a delusional woman refusing to do what would start to ease the doubts we have about your honesty - becoming a scene that was more pathetic than sad... and likely removing you from consideration in future elections.
Instead, you vow to press forward with your effort to seize that which voters have made clear: They want Senator Obama to be the nominee. Instead, you claim hollow victories as rationale to continue instead of stepping aside with honor. You do so... refusing to admit the fact that you did NOT earn those victories in places like Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and the thinnest of wins in my home state of Indiana. Yes, you wound up with more tallies, but it is estimated 10% of all those ballots counted for you were not a result of your campaign efforts. Rather they were votes cast by cross-over Republicans prompted by Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos. Those were not votes in support of you, they were votes cast by people hoping to give the Democratic nomination to someone who offers less of a challenge (than Senator Obama) to the presumptive Republican nominee, John McCaine!
THAT calls into question your juggling of rotating, ever changing metrics to justify false claims that Barack Obama is not electable. They are ALL false because you fail to consider the human metrics of why Senator Obama is much more electable than you. Here are a few you ignore, HRC:
Every day you prolong this process and prevent Senator Obama from moving forward to concentrate his focus on confronting Senator McCain's rhetoric, YOU jeopardize GOP efforts to give us a third consecutive term of Bush's ill fated agenda to destroy our security and economic well being. Just as Ralph Nader is often given credit for taking enough votes (90,000) away from Al Gore in Florida to install George Bush in the White House, giving us the unjust War in Iraq... How will you carry the burden for the deaths and maiming of thousands more American heroes for increasing the chances of McCain deepening our involvement in war? Step aside now... and support the man clearly the choice of most Americans. Duffey
