TEXANS: ON MARCH 4TH, TEXAS HOLDS A PRIMARY AND A CAUCUS!!!!! SO WE "VOTE" TWICE!!! PLEASE PLAN FOR THIS!! If you vote in the Primary, either early or on March 4th, then you have to go back to the polling place that evening at 7:15pm to vote in the caucus. 67 delegates will be chosen through the caucus system. DATE: Tuesday, March 4, 2008 TIME: 7:15 p.m. PLACE: To be held at each precinct polling location Anyone who votes in the March 4th Primary to include anyone that chooses to vote early (Feb 19-29) is eligible to attend their Party Precinct Convention. You can find your precinct polling location by pasting the link below from the Travis County Elections Division into your web browser: http://www.co.travis.tx.us/county_clerk/election/20080304/polls.asp Participation in your precinct convention is the first step in determining the make-up of the Texas Delegation to the Democratic National Convention which will be held in Denver this August. The Travis County Democratic Convention will be held Saturday, March 29 and the Texas State Convention will be held June 6-7. For further details, check these respective dates on our calendar. PLEASE PASS THIS INFO ALONG TO EVERYONE VOTING FOR BARACK IN TEXAS!!! Democrats: Total: Texas will send 228 delegates to this year's Democratic National Convention. Breakdown: 126 of those delegates will vote for candidates based on election results, representing the state's 31 senatorial districts. Special delegates: 35 will be superdelegates, mostly elected or high-ranking officials, who are all unpledged and may back whichever candidate they choose. Caucus: The remaining 67 delegates will be chosen through the caucus system. Forty-two will be rank-and-file, at-large Democrats, and 25 will be leaders and elected officials. THANKS!!! FIRED UP!!!!
