The point of winning the primary is to get the opportunity to lead the party and if successful in the GE, to lead the country. You know how the MSM is always asking what will so and so accomplish in his first 100 days of occupying the WH? Well, Sen. Obama has not officially won the Democratic nomination until the convention in Aug. He is still just a Jr. Sen. He is trying to keep the party unified and heal the party from a hard fought campaign. I think he is using all of the little extra power he has garnished for being the presumptive nominee to have his surrogates work it out on his behalf in the Senate. We have to continue putting pressure on the "actual" members in power right now, the leaders of the House (Maj. Leader Steny Hoyer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi) and Senate (Maj. Leader Harry Reid). We have to let our state Senators and Representatives know what we demand of them, let them know we expect them to support Sen. Obama in protecting our privacy and not let the Bush admin and telcoms get away with breaking the law. We have to let them know will no longer support them if they fail to give our presumptive party leader the backing he needs to protect our privacy, enforce our laws, and not curtail our legal retaliation when our rights are violated.

Taking all of this in to consideration, I will continue to fully support Sen. Obama. He has so little time to accomplish so much. I don't think I will raise the bar on him any more while he tries to win the White House. He has impressed me with jumping the moving bar during the primaries and caucuses. His competition and the MSM will do that enough throughout the general election. Yes, we must keep the pressure on to let all the politicians know what we expect from them. I will hold all in power and those in leadership positions fully responsible. When Sen. Obama is President Obama, then I’ll let him have it for not fighting harder to do the work for the people. Right now, I am going to give his campaign every spare dime, I am going to volunteer as much as I can, and I will talk him up at every opportunity.
