Last night, Hillary Clinton won the West Virginia primary. In her victory speech she said she was continuing in this race. She also indicated that she would "fight to seat the delegates" and count the votes "as they stand" in Florida and Michigan. Thus changing the number of delegates required to become the democratic nominee. This would constitute moving the goal line in the middle of the game.
Now more than ever it is important that we (Obama supporters) continue to work hard in the upcoming states and Puerto Rico. This is not the time to relax and take the nomination for granted. The media is saying the math is too daunting for Hillary Clinton to overcome. Bt the truth is, if Hillary Clinton is successfull in her mission to force the DNC to move the goal line (either through persuasion or a lawsuit), the math will change. The closer the math the more pressure will be applied to Barack Obama to choose her as his running mate. This race has been tough and Sen. Obama has emerged as a true leader. He has earned the right to choose whomever he feels would work best with him to carry out the agenda that he has set forth to the American People.
Don't stop making calls, sending postcards, volunteering in the upcoming states. Now is not the time to relax. Yes we can see the goal line but our opponent wants to move that goal line. Therefore, this is the time to step up our efforts and intensify our movement for change. SO CALL more, DONATE more, WRITE POSTCARDS more, WRITE TO more SUPER DELEGATES, VOLUNTEER more and REGISTER MORE VOTERS.
While Barack Obama begins to pursue his general election strategy let's work behind the scenes to solidify his lead and nullify Hillary's attempt to move the goal line in the 4th quarter.
