Someone is Going to Get Hurt

I am deeply concerned at the conduct of the McCain Campaign at their rallies this week. As I previously posted I knew there was a mudslide coming our way. But I don't think anything could have prepared me for the McCain Camps shameless pandering not only to fear but also hate.

This is not just bad politics, it's dangerous. To so carelessly and recklessly stoke the dying embers of old hate and fan the flames up just in the hope of getting a couple of extra votes not only speaks to the desperation of Republicans but to the erratic and careless behavior of the campaign that is representing them and of the candidate himself.

If McCain and his stooges keep this up, I worry that someone is going to get hurt.

I welcome any responses and thoughts on what has been happening as well as suggestions for talking with other voters and ways to break through all of this fear peddling.

I whole-heartedly agree with your concern about the dangerous and uncalled for aggressive and unconscionable remarks being heard at McCain/Palin rallies. There is no place in American politics for a supporter to shout from the audience about an opposing candidate "kill him." This is outrageous and is truly dangerous. I am APPALLED that the McCain camp did not stand up that very moment - if only for the sake of decency and put an end to that kind of misguided support. I believe that the Obama campaign MUST address this issue head on because even a dismissive attitude, trying to stay out of the muck stance, is not going to stop the fear-hate-mongering from stirring up some crazed nut job lurking in the wings. That's the real threat and McCain should be called out on the carpet for allowing and even encouraging such inappropriate behaviour from supporters. I mean really, how low can you sink? The whole situation stinks and McCain/Palin are simply degrading themselves and the political landscape by allowing it to continue and therefore condoning such outbursts. I'm truly amazed that it appears nothing is being done! Where is the FBI in this? Who is in charge of security for these candidates? Shouldn't they be concerned too!?
