I was reading about various states purging vote registration rolls and it reminded me of a story I read about earlier this year where 10,000 names were purged from the rolls in one district in Madison county: http://missthirddistrict.blogspot.com/2008/03/madison-voter-purge.html This one person actually had the power to act on her own to do this, and even purged a candidate and his wife! That is ridiculous.
I also found a story that I missed in July about a plan for a massive two-year purge of inactive voters in the county. Rather than focus on the Sarah Palin soap opera, it's probably more constructive for us to focus on voter registration. Please make sure that your voter registration info is current with your correct name (if you got married or divorced) and your correct address.
