The good senator had previously said that ending the war in Iraq would be the top priority of his administration. The senator anticipated that he would be able to withdraw 1 to 2 brigades every month and at this rate the majority of the combat troops would be back home in about 16 months. He always added that this timeline depended on the situation on the ground and after due consultations with the generals. Consistent with that he recently said that after meeting with the troops and generals in Iraq he would be able to refine his strategy. My understanding by this is that he would be able to give a more precise outlook on the withdrawal process. But as soon as he used the word 'refine' the entire MSM and the left wing blog sites (huffingtonpost.com) went into a tizzy. My take: Nothing here folks-i.e, no smoking gun. Time to move on!
