Having Digested the Kitchen Sink

It's taken me a little time to process what the Clinton Campaign has been doing. One would think, listening to MSM, that it is simple: "the kitchen sink strategy". Everything has to fit into a "cute" little sound bite for them. To me, and I think a lot of us Obama supporter's, the Clinton campaign strategy is nothing short of c r a z y m a k i n g.

Here we are with Senator Barack Obama who speaks truth to power, revives a huge populous to revisit the most important principles in our Democracy. Democracy, not run from the top down but from the bottom up. Participatory Democracy. More accurately, in America, Representational Democracy. So, Senator Obama asks us, the people, to hold our elected officials accountable. To pay attention. And, he doesn't just ask that of us but he passes Legislation so we can google government spending.

This is all good, right? Apparently not. The Clinton's don't like it. They don't like that he makes great speeches (we all know all of our greatest leaders had the gift of communication); they think Obama "followers"(us), citizens of the United States of America, are somehow on an emotional binge rather then an intellectual binge; they think that states that Hillary lost "don't really count".

Now this is just some of what we have heard from Camp Clinton but, isn't the just of it about disempowering voters?.. insulting the intelligence of our African-American voters by inferring "of course they will vote for him"?..asking us all to not think for ourselves?.. Keeping The People out of the process and overall dampening the spirit of Democracy in a country whose theme for decades has been that every country in the world would be better off if they just had a Democracy like ours?

It took me a while to digest this Clinton tactic as that of all c r a z y m a k e r s: to confuse and then to control .

Right now, I think that Hillary Clinton is afraid of Democracy. Strong statement I know but if you take it in the light of how persuasively that Sen. Obama speaks to nothing other then our shared, core Democratic values and we respond as if to a breath of fresh air, well then.

The Clinton's campaign strategy is the most convincing evidence to date just how entrenched she is in the interests of Big Money and Lobbyists. Worst of all, it reveals to me what little respect she has for us. Now, I know "it's politics" but I take that personally.

After all, I am an American.

I think Hillary would be quite happy to be a dictator rather than a president. She is only in it for what she can get for herself. She will SAY anything to get your vote but then NOTHING will happen!! Thats why we need to work hard for Barack Obama! He is our countries only hope right now!

in getting me and my friends and family to work harder to elect Barack Hussein Obama as the next president of the United States, with each passing byte.

'cause the "old kitchen sink" doesn't come with a filter, or a garbage disposal, and mostly it's clogging the pipes with garbage when it could be a more useful part of the house.

The idea of an American politician not being in favor of democracy is not new. Lately we seem to be all about the appearance of democracy but the reality of deceit. How can democracy be anything but bottom up? How have we fallen so far? Well, let's hope we can restore the real thing.

This is why the international community believes the US is so hypocritical..they go to war over "democracy" but don't have it at home any longer.

It slipped away without the country realizing what was happening. I mean of the people by the people for the people.

Two words: complacency and cynicism.

After Nixon, who was pardoned by Ford, which, imho was the wrong move as it put the President above the law, that ushered in a cynicism about the integrity of government and the people in it which lingers to this day. Why bother, why get involved when those you elect can get away with almost anything and personal integrity doesn't mean a damn - ask Gov. Eliot Spitzer, latest case-in-point. Which is what I do NOT understand about Hillary supporters who want to get "slick Willie" anywhere near the White House again. Monica Lewinski for Chief of Staff?

As long as we've had the trappings of "normal" elections and political life we've become complacent. We've traded the responsibility of freedom for the pottage of "security," tossing civil liberties, which our founding fathers fought for, out the window via the PATRIOT act and other incursions. Who the hell allowed waterboarding, rendition and who knows what else? We've gone from the "land of the brave" to the wimpy "land of the fearful," afraid to say "No" to an illegal war, allowing a President who got us into it under false pretenses, not to be impeached, but freaking re-elected!!!! Bush and Cheney need to answer for war crimes and it hasn't happened yet.

And unless we really work this time around, no matter what it takes to get Obama into the White House, we will be guaranteed "four more years" of continued erosion no matter if it's Hillary or McCain in the Oval office. The question is, how far will we let it go, before we can't get it back again?

There is perhaps one really important, one really significant election in each generation that will project the ramifications far into the future. This, my friends, is one of these. And this is why not only "Yes, we can," but indeed, we MUST!

For those of you who may not follow politics as a bloodsport, I'd like to point out the convenient timing of Hillary's disinformation machine. Sweet Hillary in times of caucus states or inactivity of primary states, outraged Hillary during times of non-caucus primary's. It's all calculated, disingenuous, and an insult to Americans intelligence.

Calling out the obvious (or "truth" as they refer to it in non political terms) is the greatest tool this campaign has as long as it's done in a timely manor and we don't allow her or her surrogates comments time dictate the talking points of the day.

My hat is off to Barak, David, and the rest of their team for really recognizing this in the past week and kicking ass at not just sitting there and taking it. Keep up the good work guys and fight the good fight.
