Every time I hear Obama give a speech, I am amazed by his ability to simultaneously come off as humble, empowered, optimistic and pissed-off. It would be easy to dismiss some of his talking points as rhetoric if you listen with cynical ears, but I can't help but feel something when he talks about hope and change. The Lincoln parallels are apparent, but also deep. You don't hear fiery speeches like Obama's in this day and age. There is an anachronistic quality to his choice of words; His phrases like someone bigger than life - a Lincoln, or King. This is a man who can command respect and inspire confidence.
