MILITARYsPeNdIng THE U.S. TRYING TO BE A WORLD LEADER. IT IS NOT NECESSARY THAT WE CONTINUE TO IMPOSE OURSELVES AS A WORLD LEADER,BUT RATHER TO BLEND PEACEABLY WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD. THIS COUNTRY IS NOT AND HAS NEVER BEEN PREPARED FOR A NON-CONVENTIONAL DEFENSE; SO IT MAKES NO SENSE THAT WE SHOULD SUPPORT THE MILITARY SPENDING AS WE DO. IT COULD NOT DEFEND THE PENTAGON NOR THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. CUTTING THE MILITARY TO 1/2 ITS CURRENT SIZE WOULD SUPPORT THE EFFORT IN THE REDUCTION OF GLOBAL WARMING BY THE REDUCTION OF THE USE OF OIL. THIS WOULD REDUCE THE FOOD COST AND INCREASE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND GIVE PEOPLE BACK THEIR HOMES.
