What Senator Obama is Not...

Senator Obama is not short sighted. His stance on the Iraq war from the beginning is testament to that and before that his actions throughout his life are even more of a testament to the fact, so I have reason to believe that when it comes to legislation, legislation that involves the constitution, something that he is a subject matter expert & a professor in, he has looked at the consequences, the long term affects and opportunities. I trust his judjment on it before I trust any of the others that ran and are running for President.

Senator Obama is not a flip flopper. To me a flip flopper is someone that changes their position, for fear of being looked at in a negative light and loosing popular support. Senator Obama is a problem solver and a problem solver has to have the ability to continuously change and make changes when data is presented in a validated manor that changes root cause or the potential solutions for the problem being solved.

Senator Obama is not off message. He has always talked about one America and uniting Americans Republicans, Democrats, Blacks, Whites, and All others. He has always talked about compromise in problem solving. this message is what brought many over and will win him the White House, that is a centrist view, how can you expect to unite this country from the left and or from the right. No one has and No-one will, only from the center, the very message that he has always broadcast, to work on common ground and not focus on what divides us. Actually even in a relationship it works, if those involved focus on common ground then they will accomplish much and become more united.

Senator Obama is not going to loose. He is going to win because his message rings load and clear with many Americans and people around the world. He has organized the greatest campaign in the history of campaigns. It is practically impossible to beat a group, nation, team that is united and believes in what they are doing, and if it is one thing that I have learned here is that, we really believe in what we are doing and what we are fighting for. there is a lot of great energy here, we just have to make sure we prioritize and focus our energies in the directions that will lead us to victory in Nov. Even in the days of old, the saying rings true "a house divided against itself cannot stand."

President Obama is not going to let America down. It is not in his nature, look at the data/his life. He is a very wise individual and has great life experience to be able to step close to our shoes, and he wants to. He has done so since college/helped people. He knows who he is and what his charge in life is and what it is to become. And if I were a betting man, I would go as far as to say that McCain knows deep down inside that it is Senator Obama that destiny will bring to the helm of the White House. We will see when it is all said and done!

To me, a flip flopper is one who changes his policy or breaks his promise primarily for political gain.

Redefining flip flopper is not going to change what he's done, it's just a distraction. Going that route is a dead end anyways because that doesn't defend his new stance on FISA. He broke his promise to do what many strongly feel was absolutely the wrong thing, myself included. We can debate on whether or not he did the right thing, or why he did it, and I always welcome that.

After about a hundred posts on the No to FISA forum I think we're gradually moving on. But some new post keeps coming up with a new spin, invariably without defending his inexcusable position on FISA. The best we agreed on is everyone makes mistakes, and Obama has said he knows it will lose votes like mine and that's okay. I can understand that and respectfully disagree with his rationale.

I based my decision solely on what Obama has said and my opposition to FISA. I did call Obama's staff and had a pleasant discussion but no substance to justify his position in light of his earlier promise and extensive comments why any telecomm clause was wrong and must be voted no on. I've emailed him with my point of view and blog discussion of why he is taking the wrong action. He is his own most vocal critic on his new FISA stance.

If no one will give their personal opinion why Obama is wrong, he will step on more landmines in landmine territory. I'm making it clear that validating Bush policy is landmine territory, even under pretend "compromises" like FISA. If you think I was harsh there is one of me and a hundred million right wingers who are looking for the right angle. You're only lucky they've been brainwashed into supporting FISA too. That's why it's up to middle America to express their displeasure with his support.

It is clear that you are not going to vote for Obama, and that is your choice.

I do not believe that you have all the data and facts concerning Senator Obamas decisions on his directions, and motives for his views on FISA. But I also believe that most people do not, nor do you have to in order to form your opinion. And my opinion stands on Senator Obama's expertise in Constitutional law & Non-Proliferation.

I like millions will put our money with a professor of constitutional law that is also a congressman that is actually working on the floor of the senate on the issue of intel gathering, and has co sponsored Non-proliferation law and has been briefed in top level security briefings before we would put it with an unkoun bloger that has not displayed any credentials on the subject at hand and has only been on site for three days. If i didn't know better I would say that you are here to create chaos and grief rather than support, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt;) and if you are then good that means that you are leaving someone else alone! I just am not convinced that your perspective on the matter holds a candle to Senator Obama's expertise. No matter where you post it. So I will continue to support Senator Obama and trust his expertise in the matter of FISA and National Security.

Not to mention that there are many more resons why i would support Senator Obama over the existing candidate. I also believe that if FISA is a problem, then Senator Obama will deal with it, when he becomes President. There is only going to be one President, It is either going to be Obama or McCain, that is a reality that I will put my money on, and if it is McCain then there are many issues that I believe will continue to work for the few at the top rather than the many in the country and the world. And if you hate FISA now, the chance of changing it will have gone to zero with McCain, that and a host of other issues. You can vote for Micky Mouse if you want, but at the end of th Day it will be McCain or Obama, I overwhelmingly choose Obama!!!

So where do you see a significant difference in definition? The only thing that I see is that you are being a little more specific to politics "Politiac Gain" but i can argue that Political gain as you refer to it is comprable to "loosing popular support"

Don't be confused that is not a definition for being a flip flopper. It is what President Bush and John McCain is/are not. President Bush knows "Stay the coarse" which is evidently what you wished Obama did/does concernig FISA. But you don't know what he knows and you don't have the same data set he has, and i would argue that you don't have the same anylytical and problem solving skills & tools that he has concernig FISA, or Constitutional law, but I might be wrong, you might be a Harvard Scholar and a subject matter expert on Constitutional law and you might be a Profesor of constitutional law and a Congressman that was a co-sponsor of non-proliferation and my fav. you might have a top secret security clearance for all types of data, good solid verifable data & bogus skewed data. Or maybe you are like many of us, you just stayed at a Holliday Inn Express last night! And you are merely expressing you right of opinion.
